    first progress pics

    Wow! You look amazing!
  2. Check out Bariatric Support chewable multi by twinlab. That's what I take.
  3. I keep coming back and looking at all the support! You don't know how much your well wishes mean to me. How much is boosts my spirits and reminds me why I did this and why it's worth it. Thanks everyone.
  4. Woop! Woop! I feel like the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz in the scene where Dorothy dumps Water on her. "I'm melting! I'm melting!" Except in a good way. Oh, and the reason I'm wearing the dumb princess tiara in the first pic is because it was my birthday.
  5. That's fantastic! Congrats!

    FRUSTRATED

I feel your pain. The worst is going w family because they love to point out all the yummy stuff they want and you can't have and you just want to scream, "Why are you torturing me?"
  7. Mine was a two week liquid diet. The first few days sucked big time and I doubted my ability to keep going but around day 4 or 5 it just got easier. I guess our bodies adjust, our stomachs shrink, and mentally we can count down so we can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I'd prob check w you surgeon about any special instructions if you went off the diet this close to surgery.

    Right back pain.

Could be gallbladder. I have to have mine out as soon as RNY heals (so in another couple months). :/
  9. Same here. Nerves that were cut and sewn creating pain that will ease in a few weeks. In the mean time what has helped me: Hot and cold packs Pain killers Gabapentin (not sure about spelling) but it's a nerve blocker
  10. I'm almost a month out and still can't sleep on my side. The best I can describe the feeling of lying on my side is as if all my insides are pulling away from where they should be and while it is not exactly painful any more, it's very uncomfortable.
  11. Great job! So many inspirational stories today for newbies like me. I can't wait to have comparison pics like yours (of course, you're flat out beautiful so my pics won't exactly stand up to yours). Any way, updates like yours makes newbies like me more determined to work the program and try as best I can. Congrats!

    My First Win

Yay! It's like a scene from a movie. You inspire me. Congrats! All the hard work is paying off! I'm so happy for you
  14. For my two week pre op diet it was just 3-4 Protein shakes a day, broth, and Jello. I got tired of the broth and jello very quickly and just stuck w the shakes. The first 5 days were difficult but after that, the hunger was almost gone. I began doing a count down, reminded myself why I wanted to do this, and took it one day at a time. My surgeon was pleased not just w the weight loss (26 pounds) but how much my liver had shrunk and how well the surgery went because I stuck with it, which made all the suckage of those two weeks worth it. Just remember it's not forever.
  15. I threw up for the first time today. It's been almost a month since my surgery. My nephew wanted McDonalds for Breakfast on the way to school. I order myself a egg and cheese biscuit. I threw away the biscuit and just ate the egg and cheese. I ate fast. It was way too much for my pouch. I vomited about half of it up. I feel stupid and like failure. Why would I eat anything from McDs? So stupid.
  16. Ok I no longer think it's the refried Beans that's causing me the sharp burning pain on the left side of my abdomen. No more beans. The pain remains. I realized I wasn't drinking enough Water so I stepped that up and while this helped other issues like peeing much much more, the pain has not gone away. I'm going to call dr AGAIN tomorrow and see if he continues to ignore me. I've been up most of the night now and am so tired and worn down. Today I will be 9 days out and it's been a rocky road from the moment I awoke from surgery. I don't need perfect or painless or pleasant. I just need manageable. And I'm not at that place yet.
  17. I use hot and cold packs that I make myself, using rice and different aromatherapy. I used to sell them on etsy but the shipping was to high. You should be able to find really good ones at local arts and crafts fairs and places like that. They make a huge difference. I sleep with three a night.
  18. I'm doing better everyday. The diagnosis has been modified to include some nerve damage where most of the internal sutures were done. I'm still on pain Meds and lidocaine Patches about a month out but between the two, my pain is now manageable. I've been told I have a large gallstone that means I'll need my gallbladder removed in a couple months. However I had issues with stones prior to surgery too so no big surprise there. Overall I'm still happy I had the surgery and believe my health will only get better!
  19. liquid diet for two weeks before surgery. Three to four Protein shakes a day made w skim milk or Water, unlimited amount of low sodium chicken, veggie, or beef broth, and sugar free Jello. I got sick of broth and jello within the first few days and just stuck with protein shakes for most of the two weeks. Now I'm sick of protein shakes and am eating soft foods.

    Sushi

I love sushi. I have been craving it. Whole food makes sushi rolls w brown rice that isn't nearly as sticky as normal sushi rice. I'm hoping that in a couple more months I'll be able to stomach that.

    fruit skins

I've been told I can't have fruit skins until 10 weeks out.

    ???? I DID IT ????

Wow congrats! We started at almost the same weight. You inspire me to get to under 200! Right now I just want to get under 300. All that hard work you went through paid off big time. I'm so happy for you!

    I'm so ashamed

Thanks everyone. You're right. Live and learn. In the past, mistakes like this would completely derail me but I'm trying to change my mind not just my body. I think part of the bad decisions is that I've run out of groceries and don't get paid for a couple days so it was easy to pay a few bucks. And then just going through the line and NOT getting anything is a huge adjustment. Next time I'll order an ice Water or a yogurt. McDs is a weak spot for me. My niece works there and brings food home. I pick her up and would go through the drive through. Maybe if I make a list of ok choices for fast food places and keep it w me, I won't fall back into making bad choices so easily. IDK. maybe it's just going to be trial and error. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely try them. Time to try to forgive myself and move forward.

    Left lower back pain

Thanks. You too. My dr doesn't offer the shots. I asked but the patches are better than nothing. I just keep telling myself that in a few months the pain level will be way down.
