  1. Sleeved on 7/29. Had the 3 month slow down, went 3 weeks without losing, but in the end did lose weight. BUT for the past 7 weeks I have lost 2-3 lbs. Some may say it is still losing, but really? I am eating 1200 calories a day, tried eating less but that did not work because if made me sick. Before surgery if I ate 1200 calories I would lose 2-3 lbs a week. I am just tired of the counting and measuring and being hungry (I do get hungry) and seeing no progress. I am coming up on my 5 month anniversary. Was 245 pre-surgery, 237 the day be surgery and am about 199 now (changes every day from 198-200). I feel that my body set a new set point at 200 and I am only 1/2 way to goal. Anyone else have months of very little loss and how did you start losing again?

    Comfort food when sick

Before the surgery there were certain foods i would eat when i did not feel well, usually toast, mashed potatoes, rice, etc. Although i can eat these, i do not want to stall my weight loss. Has anyone found healthy alternatives?

  5. I am a slow loser, about 2 a week, but only 3 in the past 3 weeks. I lost 4 inches off my waist the first month. I have lost 15 lbs in past 2 months but not only have i not lost anything off my tummy, the last measurement showed a gain. I carry most of my weight in my middle so i do not know what is happening.

For the newbies re: this site

    Well said
  7. I am a teacher and had the surgery over the summer. I had it at the end of july, but still went back to work 25 lbs less and no one noticed. Saw my family and no one noticed. I know my weight loss is coming off slowly but i thought people would think i looked a liitle smaller. Since my tummy is only 4 inches smaller i still can wear my same clothes, they are just looser. I wonder at what point do people notice your loss?

How long did your hair fall out?

A friend of mine had the surgery 6 years ago and lost so much hair she needed to wear a wig for a year. That scared me, the first 2 months i lost nothing. Now i am noticing alot of hair in the tub after i shower. I have very thin hair already. I am losing my weight slowly, eating 1000 calories a day and getting in my protein so was hoping to avoid losing my hair.

    I am finally at onerland!

Gtrigona1 I was sleeved on 7/29, 2 weeks before you and have lost 25 lbs since surgery so i think u are doing great. If you are so hungry maybe you are not eating enough. If you ate still only eating 600 calories that could be a problem

    Weight GAIN before liquid diet

I need to add that i could only lose 10 lbs and still stay at 35 bmi and get the surgery, knowing that i would lose weight in the 2 week liquid diet i allowed myself to gain alittle while on vacation before the surgery. I lost every thing i gained plus more during those 2 weeks.

    Did your energy improve?

I am 50 and started out 100 lbs overweight. I have found that the 34 lbs i have lost makes doing things easier, but my energy is still low. Need to get some blood work done to get my levels, my vit D may be low. I have faith that i will eventually feel the energy surge people talk about.

    Re: Snacks

I gave up diet coke cold turkey months before surgery. I drank quite a bit each day, like 50 ozs. It was tough the first week, but i no longer miss it. The stuff in diet soda has been shown to make people very sick. Although of your 3 choices, diet coke is the only one with 0 calories, i think it is the worst for you.

    Weight Loss

I was sleeved on 7/29. I keep my carbs to around 50, I was lightheaded with less. I only eat seafood and can eat any kind. Fish like salmon fills me up faster than a white fish like flounder so I started with the white fish. I have not started to eat raw veggies so that would be next for me. After the first month when I was not able to eat more than 500-600 calories I realized that for me that small amount was not good for me, I did not feel well and was hungry. I feel very content at around 1000 calories. Some days I do not quite make it, and that is ok, I am not gong to overeat or eat unhealthy to that. I live in Maryland.

    Weight Loss

I did not get out of my stall until I increased my calories. I first upped it to 600-800, then spent a couple weeks at 800-1000, now I hope to get 900-1100. It has worked for me, the 2-3 lbs loss each week is better than none and I feel much better with the increased calories. I do watch my carbs and Protein.

    Sleeve or Lap Band?

Chose sleeve over band, did not want to worry about fills, slippages, etc. I am happy with my decision

Sleeved on 7/29, close to your date. Lost 25 since surgery. Watch carbs, protein, cals, and fluid, it is just the rate my body has decided to lose. Had the 3 week stall, now losing 2-3 lbs a weeks.

Anyone else have very slow weight loss?

I lost 11 lbs my second month and my dr was very happy. I was hoping my second month would be in the 15 to 20 lbs. But before the surgery i would have been happy with 11 lbs. The surgery helps us lose weight, but does not guarantee we are going to lose it fast. It took me awhile to accept this

    Bingeing after the sleeve

Today i had what i felt was a binge day because i had bad nausea and ate more carbs than usually since protein did not go down well. I sat down and figured out my protein, carbs, and calories. Protein a little low, carbs a little high, ok just high, but calories were only 1100. Before this surgery that would be a great day.
