I'm almost certain I'm going into maintenance even though I still weigh 225 pounds. Is this normal? Is this my body's "set point"? Trying not to be discouraged, but I've been within the same three pounds for over a month. Could this just be a stall brought on by lack of exercise as I heal from knee surgery? Advice is appreciated! D:

I doubt it. I am almost a year, my weight loss has slowed a lot. I had a fear that I had stopped losing, but I was still losing inches. Then the scale started moving again. Just keep eating the same and it will come off. Also Dr Weiner talks about being injured and how it not only removed your exercise options but also lowers just your normal daily activity levels, so the knee surgery is probably part of it. Plus your body is trying to recover from the knee surgery and heal, losing weight isn't the top priority. This is why my Dr told me we don't lose a ton right after surgery, the body is repairing itself.

@OutsideMatchInside - thanks for your input. I suppose that all makes a great deal of sense. It's odd how I have trouble being logical and objective about these things when I rarely struggle with that in other areas of my life. Sometimes I just need a little reassuring or to hear others' experiences. I may be switched into a functional brace AND cleared for swimming today. Say a little prayer for me!

Believe me, I was in the same place last month, wondering if this was really it, and if I was going to be stuck on the line between normal and plus sized forever. The slow down in weight loss takes a bit to get use to, but I am still losing, Really if I only lose 5 pounds a month until the end of the year, that is still good. That is all most normal people can hope for
