Knee surgery is THE most painful surgery--documented fact. Sometimes it takes several tries until the right pain cocktail is found. I had a L knee total replacement and a spinal surgery a year later. I would rather have a dozen spinal surgeries than one more knee surgery. My advice? Try to stay ahead of the pain. It is easier to manage if you don't wait until it's unbearable. If a particular pain med mix isn't working, ask for another. and keep asking until you get relief. No need to be "brave" or "stoic". Just get through it as pain free as possible. I'm putting you on the prayer chain that I belong to. Dozens of folks praying for you couldn't hurt, right? It does get better, and it is soooo wonderful not to have any knee pain. I had my surgery 5 years ago. It was so worth it.

Knee surgery is an absolute bitch, pain-wise. About the only thing more painful is not having knee surgery when you need it. Hang in there!
