  1. You do what is right for you, and leave the past in the past. I wish you all the best. I had my RNY on August 17th, almost exactly 3 weeks ago. Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk.
  2. Today was my 3 week post-op anniversary and I'm pretty nauseous as well, though I haven't had any vomiting thankfully. Hope you feel better! Keep your chin up and contact a doctor if you're worried.
  3. 111 pounds, holy moly! That's super impressive! Congratulations.
  4. @@PinkieD that is exactly how I felt.
  5. @@Anxious2beme - I'm doing great. my incisions are looking fantastic and I have barely any pain at all. My side is a little sore today because I slept on it last night, but other than that... doing just fine. Thank you for asking! Here is a picture of my incisions, three week post op: http://imgur.com/VFzSQFj

    Eating too much?

the reason you are able to eat and rink so much is that your stomach nerves are not healed. This does not mean you're actually able to consume that much. I had a similar issue, in that I never felt full. I wondered if my surgeon didn't make the pouch, too! But now I'm three weeks post op (three weeks today exactly, woohoo!) and I certainly feel full very easily. I just drank my Protein shake, 14 oz, but it took me about two hours. And I feel pretty full still. So stick to the program, or you may stretch your pouch way too soon and end up hurting your progress. Also, three days after surgery I was JUST moved to full liquids. I wasn't able to even have pureed food until a week and a half after surgery. You have to be careful and follow your doctor's orders perfectly in this stage. Good luck!

    Dreams

I had really strange, vivid dreams too. I think it's a combination of the pain meds and all the excitement and anxiety that comes with a life and body-altering surgery like this. it gets better. take it easy and take good care of yourself.

    Night time eating?

You crave carbs because your body is addicted to them, same with sugar. You might have to kind of wean yourself off of these things, and make sure there are less than 5 grams of sugar in every serving of whatever. This is especially useful because it will cleanse your body of sugar (which is seriously the devil in terms of trying to be healthy! XD) and because that's what you're going to be needing to do post-surgery, so it's good to get your body used to it now. I would also recommend just eliminating the foods that are causing you problems from your house completely! That's what worked for me. My boyfriend grumbled but agreed that he wanted to be healthy too, and now he eats pretty well because his body is no longer addicted to carbs and sugar. Good luck!

    Best whey protein powder

I really like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Fortress-Chocolate-Peanut-Butter-Super-Advanced-Whey-Protein-Powder-32-oz/39649622 It's a very good price, and it's 30g of Protein a scoop and tastes like brownie batter! I put one scoop in 8 oz of milk and would have that three times a day. With the 8g of protein from the milk, it would end up being 114g of protein just from three cups every day. They have a chocolate Peanut Butter and vanilla flavor too.
  10. It's a really exciting and strange time, I remember it well as it was less than a month ago. Today is my three week surgery anniversary! Time flies, and there are really exiting things coming up for you very soon! Congratulations, and take good care of yourself. All your hard work is going to be worth it.
  11. I'm not in your area, but I am close to your age. I'm 23, and had my RNY on August 17th. Today is exactly three weeks since my surgery... wow, time flies. o.O Anyway, I would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have, if I have answers to them. Good luck and I hope you find someone close by to work out/be buddies with.
  12. Just be sure to tell your doctor and ask his/her advice! Congrats on quitting, I know that is not easy at all.

    Medication and by pass

That's something you're going to have to ask your doctor. Some people here can probably offer their experience but different surgeons have different opinions/reasons for doing things the way they want you to do them. If you can't continue your medications as they are now, your doctor will probably be able to find something you can take instead. Good luck.

    Starting pre-op on 9/13/15

get all bad food out of your house! And use any of your "fun fund" money that you may previously have used on fast food or junk food to go see a movie or something fun that is non-food related. Good luck!
  15. @, sounds like he's worried your liver might not shrink enough before surgery... That's certainly possible for you to take care of! Just change your diet now, and really try your best not to cheat on the preop diet. All the hard work you do now will pay off during and after surgery.
  16. First off I just want to say that my bmi at the date of surgery was 62.5... so I'm in no way trying to freak you out or tell you what to do but I had the lap RNY and my surgeon was confident, had zero issues, and never said one word about trying to change my mind about what I wanted. If I were in your situation and my surgeon were pressuring me for the reason yours is.. I would find a different surgeon. I had no complications and I'm doing fantastically.

    6 days post op! Help!

During my entire first week after surgery, I had not just weird worries and obsessions, but nightmares about food. I would dream someone offered me a spoonful of rice or a piece of jerky or whatever other odd food my brain perceived would hurt me somehow but taste good. I would accept it and eat it, and then panic because I would think it was tearing my new pouch apart and killing me. I would wake up freaking out a little and feeling paranoid. Turns out these are somewhat common symptoms of the pain meds I was on, plus I'm a naturally anxious person by nature. If it helps you, try planning out every single thing you're going to have every day, even the water. I suspect your body is still going through the withdrawal symptoms of sugar and carbs, as well, which would certainly be contributing to your issues. You've just been through an enormous change, both physically and mentally. It's gonna take time to adjust, but trust me... It will get better, hang in there. Take care of your new digestive system and it will take care of you. Feel free to message m anytime if you want to talk.

    Protein Shakes

I really like Premier Protein or Pure Protein because they are both really light tasting and not chalky or gross. I was using a powder for a while but it just became disgusting to me, so I ended up having to switch to the pre-made shakes and I don't regret it at all.

PCOS LADIES Getting pregnant post op

I have pretty much every one as well; the weight gain, the difficulty losing it, the stupid little hairs that grow where they shouldn't, the skin condition, the messed up periods, the hormone imbalance, the thinning hair, the fertility problems... The list goes on.
  20. Yay! Happy to hear you're okay and that everything went well. I promise you it will be a LOT better every day. Very soon you'll barely remember how much it hurt the first few daysm keep us updated and take care of yourself. <3 ????

    I need help☺️

I've only been weighing myself once a week since my scale is broken and I go to my doctor's office to get weighed. So I don't know what I am at the momement but at exactly two weeks it was ten pounds. I'm sure it's more now, as it's been almost another whole week and all my undies are already starting to be too big. XD but yeah, ten pounds in 14 days, though it was probably more than that because you gain a few pounds in the hospital from the iv fluids.
  22. @@MickeyMax95 I'm doing really well. I had no complications and I feel great, though I still get tired very easily. I am not losing as fast/much as I hoped to but I'm getting in 100g of protein and 64 oz of water, as well as all my vitamins, every day. So I know I need to stop being so impatient and just focus and making myself healthy, and the weight loss will come.
  23. I'm 23, and I had my RNY three weeks ago Monday. Started looking into it when i was 22. You are definitely not alone.

    Really strange physical reaction!

I did drink some of a protein shake afterward and started to feel a little better. Maybe that's it. O.o

    Upcoming surgery worries..

What a rude and unprofessional person! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Ugh! All I have to say is: there's a risk of dying when you cross the street or step into the shower. You have a whole list of reasons why you know this surgery is right for you and a good thing to do, just like the rest of us, I'm sure. If you feel confidence in your surgeon and yourself, don't let the crappy actions of that horrid "psychologist", and I use that term extremely loosely, deter you from this goal you have had for so long. Realistically, the chances of complications, let alone death, are SO low. The chances of you coming out of it healthy and happy? SO HIGH. You've got this. Keep us posted. There are great things coming your way, and don't let that idiot, who probably has her own insecurities and judgmental attitude toward WLS, bring you down. We're all here to support you!
