Muscle Milk Light Protein Shake

I bought a case of the Muscle Milk Light chocolate. I have had three containers so far and its my least favorite of the ready to drink Protein shakes and tastes overly sweet. However, with that said, I will probably buy another case because it is much cheaper than Premier Protein (at least while it is on sale at Costco). I may try to make it into a smoothie by adding ice and berries. -
@@AmiLou I enjoy trying out new healthy foods. I reached out to this forum, because I know that folks here usually have some healthy ways to prepare foods. My son is a professional chef, so I always have a source for how to prepare foods. Unfortunately his recipes are not always bariatric friendly.

I picked up some squash this weekend from a local farmer's market. I cooked a large Cousa squash tonight, it was the size of an elongated football. It had an awesome flavor. Does anyone have any idea how many calories this type of squash has? I checked MyFitnessPal, but didn't find this particular type of squash listed. I also bought a Delicata squash. Does anyone have an idea on how to cook this?

@@Caribear Not many calories in baked summer squash. Makes me feel pretty good since I have a lot of it left over. For the delicata squash I am going to try the recipe for baked squash stuffed with quinoa, shallots, and pine nuts. Thanks for the info!

Hi - My name is Tom and I am a diet coke addict. Its been 396 days since my last diet coke. Have been managing pretty well with Water, crystal light, and diet Snapple. Don't really have any desire any more for diet coke, or any sodas.

I completely agree that Saturday night is primetime and I need to be with someone who will make the time to see me. I have a lot of friends, interests, and hobbies that keep me pretty busy, but Saturday nights without a date are what drove me to online dating to begin with. It only took a few messages on POF this morning to line up a date with someone new this Saturday. The woman that I have been seeing is coming over Sunday for dinner. Hope to find out what her take is on making an attempt to be available. -

@@Jobey Congratulations on finding a good guy. Unfortunately my dating experience is heading in the opposite direction. The woman I have been seeing and was willing to be exclusive with is not available Saturday night (again due to family commitments). I unhid my profile on POF and now have a date with someone else Saturday night. This new one is single with no kids, has a similar taste in music, is much younger, and is willing to go out with me on a Saturday night. The sleeve has given me options I didn't have before. -

I ended up hiding my profile on POF instead of deleting it. The first several weeks we were dating things were going very well. She was on Summer break (from teaching), I was fully retired, and we did a lot of fun things. Now school is back in session, I have taken on a part time job, and her daughter who lives several hours away is getting married in October. I am still hopeful that things will work out. -

Glad to hear about this. I have no reservations about deleting my POF profile. Just got back from spending a Friday night with "teacher" and couldn't be happier. We are both older (over 50) and things have been going really well. Making plans for Saturday night. -

@@Jobey We did have a conversation about not actively pursuing anyone else. I have been able to live up to that promise. My struggle is with women who are reaching out to me. I do like her and have had a great time every time we have spent time together. I am new to this whole online thing and don't want to mess this up. -

Today is my one year surgiversary. I've lost over 100 pounds and have settled in at about 215 for a while now. There have been a lot of positive changes this past year: - I no longer take any diabetic meds after taking these meds for 15 years. - I no longer crave fast food and can't remember the last time I ate fast food. - I go to the gym almost daily and no longer huff and puff after cardio exercise. - I bought a kayak and have been paddle boarding. - I have a new girlfriend (maybe I should have listed this one first ) - My dog is now at a healthy weight now that he gets longer walks. The only negatives were related to higher costs for my medical deductible and for all of the new clothes that I have had to buy. Well worth it though. -
Bored with Breakfast! Any dieticians out there?

My go to breakfast is a vegetable omelette made with mushrooms, peppers, and spinach. Some mornings I am tempted to have a slice of toast, but so far I have resisted that temptation. This morning I also had some "hash browns" made with onions and thinly sliced zucchini. It helps having something with a different texture than the omelette. -
I mostly eat berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries) and add them to smoothies. I also like local cantaloupes when they are in season. I don't eat fruit daily, but enjoy it once or twice a week.

Need Help With Working Out / Training - Clueless.

After my surgery I took an 8 week medical fitness program offered by my local hospital. They performed an initial evaluation, set up a weight program, offered guidance and answered all of my questions during the 8 weeks, and then performed a final evaluation. I found it to be very helpful and avoided injury. After completing this program I joined another gym that offered small group fitness training. This is less expensive than using a personal trainer, but does offer some ongoing guidance. Now I am managing pretty well on my own. -
My last A1C was 6.0 with no meds. I no longer need to see the Endo. My PCP will order A1C tests twice a year for the next few years to keep an eye on things.

Why can't you eat a small slice of pizza? I don't plan on indulging daily or even weekly but especially 100 pounds down the line I will plan for small indulgences and adjust my calories accordingly. No regrets. I have lost over 100 pounds and no longer need any of my diabetes meds. Ok - maybe one regret. I wish I could eat some Brooklyn pizza with fresh mozzarella.

I struggled with this as well. I signed up for small group fitness training at 10am three times a week and initially struggled. I spoke to my RD and she suggested eating some fruit before exercising, drinking Water during exercise, and eating some Protein after exercising. I followed her recommendation and it helped with my energy level. -

For the two months after surgery I also seemed to run out of energy at times. Sometimes in the afternoon I even took a nap, which helped. It got better over time, I exercise daily, and now I have much more energy than before surgery. I would stay away from large amounts of coffee or 3 hour energy drinks. In addition to Protein and Water, you should be tracking total calories and taking your recommended Vitamins. Hopefully you have a followup appointment with your doctor scheduled where you could discuss your energy level and results from a recent blood test. If your surgeon isn't helpful, go to your primary care physician. -
I ended up ordering the Garmin Vivoactive HR. The features that I liked include heart rate monitoring from the wrist, step counting, sleep monitoring, and large display.
