Did anyone have the period during surgery? I just got mine the day before surgery which means it will be full blown day-of. Will that be a problem?

I feel you! I have twin 17month olds. The biggest Hong for me about recovery is not being able to pick them up for 6 weeks!

Any L.A. Sleeve patients. Would love to connect with some in the same time zone....just in case and we are on the same schedule. :-) Nervous but excited.

Can I join you guys? 12/21 here as well. Just started my pre-op diet and craving something salty after all the sweet shakes. But we can do this!!!

So glad I found this post. Mine is 12/21 so I'm only on day 3 of the pre-op diet. All the sweet shakes are rough. I craved salt today. Definitely nervous, like you, about being able to handle it all after the fact but am motivated by the incredible change for the future that lies ahead. (wow that sounded super cheesy). I am down to keep in touch if you are! E

Recovery with Children - Lifting Heavy Objects
Erica Kaufman posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am considering Gastric Sleeve surgery and just learned how long before I can lift heavy things - 6 weeks. I have twin one-year-olds so the thought of waiting that long to lift them breaks my heart - not to mention, I do most of the caretaking in the family so it's weird to think about not lifting them. What are some other experiences and any advice? Should I worry about their development during those 6 weeks? I know this surgery will be better for them/us in the long run than any "harm" those 6 weeks of not picking them up can bring. But just nervous. Thanks
