  1. Thank you everybody! I have no experience with Vitamins because I have never taken them in my life so even basic suggestions like gummies are very helpful!
  2. I was sleeved 12/16 and just found out that my insurance does not cover ANY Vitamins or B12, even if deemed "medically necessary"! Does anybody else have this issue and how have you overcome it? I am willing to pay for things to maintain my health, but obviously I don't want to fork over big bucks for maintenance meds that I need for the rest of my life!! Advice please?

    What to say at work?

I stressed hard about who to tell and who NOT to tell, but now that I have had surgery (6 days postop), it feels natural to tell people around me. Once I return to work, or start running into ppl I haven't seen in a while, I figure I will tell them the truth if it feels right to me. If it doesn't I will just explain that "I am a work in progress" and working hard to make healthier choices in my life!!!

New sleevers how are you doing

I was sleeved on 12/16, so am 6 days post op. I am doing well overall. I am on all liquids for another week ( Water, milk, cream soups, broth, jello) and the Protein I am using is called Celebrate 4 in 1 packets. I mix one packet with 8oz milk twice a day and that allows me to get 66gm protein in daily. I blend it with ice for a little extra Fluid too. The chocolate milk flavor is pretty darn good. Glad we are all in this together, and to those having a hard time getting their fluids and protein in, good luck and hang in there. You are healing from the inside and your body is in a huge adjustment phase!
  5. Thank you everybody! Wow, this is a great forum with great feedback. I live in a small town and my extended family is large. I just know if I try to keep it on the "DL" it will get probably get around. I also don't want to lie about anything, to anyone. A bigger issue is that in the past when I have lost weight, I love how I feel but become uncomfortable with the extra attention received. I know this is something I will have to talk about in support groups, etc. Thank you everyone for your insights.
  6. This is my first forum post. My surgery has not been scheduled yet and I meet with my surgeon in 3 weeks. I am wrestling with how "out there" to be with my upcoming surgery. I am not ashamed of it, but in general I am a private person who does not like to discuss personal matters with people outside of my immediate circle of friends and family. Also, I am a physician and it will feel strange talking about WLS with all my patients when my weight loss becomes obvious. How did you all decide how much to tell people about your bariatric surgery? Any regrets about what you told people or how they reacted to your surgery and weight loss? Thank you!
