    Gluten free?

Sorry, hit the wrong button....I wanted to tell you guys, subway will make any sub they offer into a salad, it is gf and tastes great. Here in col. Ohio, it was $6.00. Completely worth it. Oh, and Bob Evans restaurant has a gf menu, you have to ask for it. Thanks for all your help and advice.

    Gluten free?

Hi..... So I was diagnosed yesterday with high gluten intolerance, my mom has full celiac disease. My pcp is saying that my gluten intolerance is what is causing all of my MS like symptoms, I was considered probable MS before now. I am a super picky eater and I've been helping my mom out with her shopping for gf items, however there is nothing really that I would like to eat myself. In my house there are only a few things that I can eat that are gf, cottage cheese and Heinz ketchup being my favorite items. Lol. I can't ever eat matzo and butter, which is a favorite snack, nor peanut butter. I am also unsure how the gf foods will work with my band. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

    Gluten free?

I would love the recipes, thank you! I have been gf for 3days now and I've already noticed my constant headache has gon away. We went shopping last night at meijers, they had almost no gf items, so we are going to Kroger this morning.

    Gluten free?

I will go to Kroger and look tomorrow for them both, that's where my mom gets a lot of her stuff too. The Kroger here has little tags that say which items are gf. Which is very helpful. Meatloaf sounds really good, I will have to find a recipe for it. I wonder if I could make a shepards pie with it. Thank you for replying and your help.

Anyone take Lisinopril for high BP?

My husband and my aunt both take it, and they both have the cough. They have both been on it for years and the cough has not changed. It is annoying for them, but seems to be the drug that works best for them so they stay on it and deal with the coughing. Good luck.

    Bra Recommendations Please!

I actually found that online and I bought a bra there. Went from a 40H to a 38JJ.... I had been squeezing into the H for awhile. I also found a place in Greenville,SC and bought another bra there. I can't think of the name right now, but I'll post it when I remember. Lol. It's a huge difference having the proper size bra.

    Bra Recommendations Please!

I know what you mean about them being droopy. My DH told me mine looked like bowling balls at the end of tube socks. Then one day he told me they looked like a sad basset hounds ears. :/ Smh

    Bra Recommendations Please!

I really like the Lane Bryant balcanette bras, they are molded cups, so they give light shape, no padding, they are really comfortable. In your size I'm sure they will have lots of cute styles to chose from. I've been wearing only L.B. bras for almost 15 years now. But, I wear a 40H and now I need a 38I or a 38J and I can't find any stores that carry them. I have to try them on. We are going on vacation Thursday and I am looking online to find anywhere that carries big sizes in store....from Ohio all the way to obx. Lol. Good luck.

    Anyone use UP by Jawbone?

I use the fit bit flex, it is like the jawbone up but it has several things I like better than jawbone. The flex clasps around your wrist and is secure with a closure, the jawbone overlaps a little on your wrist, so it can get caught on things. * The fitbit is Bluetooth connected, whereas the jawbone has to be plugged into your phones headset jack to upload all info. I like going into the fitbit app on my iPhone and it syncing right away, makes it a lot easier for me. * the fitbit will work in the shower, baths, doing dishes and giving dogs baths, I don't have a pool so I don't know for sure about swimming, however that's not really what they count. * the fitbit comes with a large and small wristband, you choose which size fits you best, the jawbone, you have to find which size fits you and then buy that size wristband. If you need a large wristband now and lose weight around your hands and arms then need a smaller size, you will have to buy a new jawbone. * the fitbit is $99.99. Vs. $129.99...... I am just giving you a few things I really like better, I did a lot of research between the 2 devices before I bought. I really like using the combo fitbit flex and my fitness pal apps together, as well. Hope that helps.

    Would love some local buddies!!

Dr. Brad Watkins did mine, he is awesome! That's a great weight loss! Congrats!! I'm losing the pounds slower after my revision, but am losing inches really quick. I think I would lose more pounds if I ate more. Lol. I'm in the green zone and am never hungry. If I can help with anything please let me know.
  16. Hi, I would be interested in the 16's, please.

    NA'ers?

Hello, Sure not much activity around here....I just found this thread. I am very excited to have done so. I will be celebrating 5 years on 8-2-09. I have been banded for 1 1/2 years and am doing great. Very few ppl know I had the band done. NA around here (columbus, ohio) is like high school. clicks and gossip abounding. I hope this thread gets more active :frown:
  19. Hi all. I am back to see how everyone is doing. It has been a long time. I have been on vacation twice and been super busy when I am home. I have now lost 118# I am looking and feeling great. I am so happy everyone is still losing great. Special and Greg big thumbs up to you both. :thumbup:Flordiainohio, I had Dr. Miller and Dr. Choban they are both great. Dr. Miller is not great on a bedside manner, but he is a great Doctor. Plus, he has an east side office and is easier to get an app. with. I have found a great excercise. I now golf!! quite a bit too. It is very good for the "hate handles" I do not love them so I refuse to call them "love handles" lol....I have not had a fill in about 4 months and am doing fine without one. When we were in Flordia to visit my fil, he told me it was not worth buying me food. I am still not quite sure how to take it. We went to a lot of resturants that I could not really eat much at, grease and whatnot and it was about TOM and that always makes me tighter. Well, I am done yakking/typing for now. I will try and check in more often. Take care. Katie
  20. My surg. has told me that the only NSAID that was allowed after the band is Celebrex. I started it just a few months ago and it does wonders ( I have Fibro and other back issues.) I started it when I was about 1yr out from SX. Hope that helps.

    Columbus Area

Hi Have not checked in in quite awhile just thought I would say hello. How is everyone doing?? You are doing great Kathy.....My ticker has not been updated but, I have now lost a total of 116LBS. Slow and steady. I tried on a pair of my friends jeans (size 11/12) and they fit!!!! I was so excited..Much better than a 22/24. Bought a concert Tshirt Size. XL (my last one was a 3X) I am so glad I made the band decision. I am much healthier and looking great as well....I will try and post more often. Off topic question: Can anyone make patchwork clothes (dress) or know of a book that can teach me?? P.M. me if you do please. Keep being losers P.S. As another option, there is another consignment shop just off Refugee Rd. On Sedalia, it is called Clothesline plus. you can go in anytime and consign. Clothes just need to be clean and folded. They are really nice in there. You consign for 3 months and at the end of the 3 months you get a check but, anytime before that you can buy off your credit. I just got a check for over $80.00. (I had bought a few tops) Taking more stuff there today :wink2:

    No more favorite foods?

I can eat the crispy corn ones. I can eat tostadas from Taco bell. I open up a cheesy beef burrito and empty it onto the tostada and eat it like that. Takes about 15 minutes to eat. you really need to take your time when you eat. very important!! I can eat bagels though, does that help you?? just about 1/2 one at a time. but, it is yummy. :tongue2:

    No more favorite foods?

I have been banded for 1yr and 10days. I can eat almost anything, except for eggs (weird, I know) white bread (whole grain is fine) and tortia(sp) wraps and roast beef. However, I can eat egg bread (french toast) I am fine with a little rice and do great with steak and popcorn. Burgers taste gross to me now from fast food places. I eat the inside of the subs and maybe 1-2 bites of the bread, If it comes with bread, I usually disregard the bread. I would rather use my stomach space on "real" food than bread. I am in my sweet spot and eat very little at meals. I have lost 100lbs and am feeling great. I used to love buns and bread and burgers. I do not miss them at all. Basically, when you get on solids it is trial and error, and then when you get adjusted it is more of the same. Days will vary on what you can and can not tolerate. stress and period time makes my band very tight and I switch to liquids and mushies. I find it really helps me.
