How much do you eat at a meal at 2 months, 3 months
CocoBelle replied to 60&goin4it's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I thought I was the only one! :-) I had RNY as well. But I think my doctor made it this size because during the consultation my husband mentioned that he was against bypass because of the size stomach I would be left with. The doctor quickly jumped back to say, that it wont be any smaller than the sleeve I had originally planned for. I only realized my size because the doctor gave me a letter for me to give to my primary physician. -
How much do you eat at a meal at 2 months, 3 months
CocoBelle replied to 60&goin4it's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Just to shake things up, I'm at 1 cup of food at three months. So about 200 to 250 grams. With that being said, my pouch is a lot bigger than normal. It was made at 45ml rather than the normal 15 to 30ml. :-( Oh wells, thanks for the post! Its so nice to see what others are doing. -
Feeling full?
CocoBelle replied to BeautyInProgress's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know this is late but like others said I think this is normal. As far as getting your liquid in, it helps to drink warm liquids. This has been my Godsend! I brew a bit of herbal tea and cool it down with Water and I can drink really quick! It does not make you feel as full and uncomfortable. -
Hello! I am almost 3 weeks out and wondering about what I should be eating. I am altering between 1/2 cup to 100grams. But if its puree sometimes I do more. Can I get an idea of how much others are able to eat at this point? Or how much you can comfortable eat where you are now? I'm scared to stretch my pouch! Also how many meals are you eating a day? Thanks!

The plan is not to copy exactly what anyone else is doing. Its just to get a picture of what different people are experiencing. I could ask my nut all day long but at the end of the day she can only give me guidelines not experience. Also because everyone has such a different eating plan, i find it interesting to see how they differ. I guess I asked the question a bit wrong. Thanks your responses!

11days after gastric sleeve
CocoBelle replied to VegaJackie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had bypass and my left side hurts really bad too. Like cramps. It is slowly going away. So I don't think its anything to be concerned about. -

Preop "the last supper"
CocoBelle replied to jamiemarie_11's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes like every one says its normal! I had a month long food funeral! I wouldn't reccomend that though. Like someone else said, track your meals and plan your day around eating that meal. For instance, if your gonna have a unhealthy fatty meal at dinner, have a shake for breakfast and a salad for lunch. Portion out your calories, carbs and fat accordingly and you won't do too much damage if its only a few days. I can say that before your pre op diet, reduce your carbohydrate intake. It makes the cravings during the liquid diet easier to manage. Once you kick your carb cravings, you can conquer the world! Good luck! -
If you haven't had surgery yet what are you most afraid of?
CocoBelle replied to mimorison's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Being on the other side now, I can gladly say that I made it through. Before hand I was given meds to relax me and hell forget my fears and that helped! Y'all have no idea, I was coming to this forum and finding new fears to have! Lol, anyway, I am a skeptic and I just knew something bad would happen. So far, its been somewhat smooth sailing. The first two days I regretted my decision to have surgery. I am going to be honest, at this point I miss food and I'm still scared that I won't be able to eat better. Your fears after surgery will still be there, you just have to live one day at a time and remember that you are doing something that could potentially really work to your advantage and help you live a healthier life. Forget about the negative comments people are saying! They are not you and have no idea what you are going through. Get help if you need it and do what you feel is right. Good luck to all of you! And don't let your fears get the best of you. -
Hello! So for stats, I am currently 308, I need to lose 12 more pounds in three weeks before surgery on sept 1st 2015. I'm easing myself into the pre-op diet mode with a few shakes a day with small meals thrown in. I live in hull, uk but I'm having the gastric sleeve surgery at Nord Bariatric in Lithuania. Once I got over the fear of leaving the country for surgery, I was hit with the realization that my surgery is there weeks away. I am having mini panic attacks every so often when I think about going under and waking up in pain! Guys I'm a big old baby. I have never had any serious medical conditions, I barely get shots. I cringe when getting blood drawn. Post op people can you please tell me what its like going under and waking up? I'm hoping that by knowing what to expect, I will start to feel better about it. Its really the unknown that scares me. Thanks for any time you can give me!

Freaking out about surgery!
CocoBelle replied to CocoBelle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just an update, I had my surgery and so far everything went great. Waking up was the worst though! I moaned for god knows how long, I was so unaware of what was happening. I just knew I was in pain. Haha, my poor husband. Thanks everything. All of your responses were perfect. -

Feeling Like a Failure
CocoBelle replied to NYCVSGGirl87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am actually interested to hear your response. I am currently pre-op but I read every day about someone who gains weight. Or stops losing weight. I am wondering if the other factors that other people mention are there and you are still gaining. Like are you actively trying to lose weight? I am not trying to be offensive and apologize if I come off like a smart ass. I am genuinely curious because I'm sure one day, I could be in your shoes. I know one day I'm gonna have to hit it hard I just want to know its gonna work. -
Hey I'm from Hull, UK. My surgery is Sept 1st. I was not given a pre-op diet. Just told to lose weight. I'm super nervous at this point. Not long to go.

I love mine! Its a great motivator to get active! Especially if you have friends and you work to out do them in steps! I also love seeing how my walking burns so many calories. In short, its great if you really want to get moving.

Hello! How are things coming for you? Do you have a surgery date yet?

Hey there, I was just wondering what Clear Liquids everyone ate after surgery? I'm at a loss other than knorr salty chicken stock pots. Generally any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Can I really do this..? More than half my body weight to lose
CocoBelle replied to xxjosettexx's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you guys think the surgeon gives us a weight loss estimate based on if we choose to only eat better? Surely, if we continue to eat properly and exercise, there is no reason we can't get down to where we wish to be? Maybe they all think we are lazy SOB's lol. I'm insulted haha. -

CocoBelle replied to mimorison's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow wwboy its like you are my surgery twin. I could not said it better myself. Except #4, I never ever thought of that! Lol oh my word, not a new fear! But I'm not scared of hair loss, I'm not scared of loose skin, I know its gonna happen so I have already started researching how to deal. I think every day about what if I never wake up from surgery and leave my newlywed husband a widow? Or what if I have complications?!? I have to work, ain't no body got time for that. What if it hurts intolerably? I am pretty helpless when in pain. And last but not least, what if I don't get a grip on my food consumption? And im still suffering from crazy hunger? Even with all my fears and worries, I am not changing my mind at all. Call it shallow, but I would love to one day look in the mirror and like what I see. I would love to be able to travel and my worry about fitting in seats or being made fun of because of my size. I am moving for the day when I can go into a normal clothing shop and try something on. Instead of buying a shit ton of hand bags and jewelry. And most importantly, I don't want to continue on like this until I develop serious health conditions that could have been prevented. -
Oh dear, I remember hearing that a lot of people were on Clear Liquids the first two weeks. Have you tried chicken broth? Maybe call the doctor and complain. I know if I were nauseous, I would call everybody. I HATE nausea. :-( I really hope you get to feeling better soon.
