Before I was allowed to have surgery I had to stop smoking for 2months. I went to my pcp and pick up a sript for Chantix. I took it for 2months no issue. I haven't took the pill since surgery Aug 26. The urge for smoking came back and I decided I would take it again. I got sick the frist time. Tried it again sick again. Does anyone else have this issue? Should I crush them or what. At this time I scared as hack to take them.

Please let me know how your blood work comes back.

I think the patch sounds wonderful. Or a capsule one a day. For the calcium too if possible. I'm horrible with meds more than one time aday!

I'm no authority on that. You may want to start a new thread. I'm kinda on my own until Oct 7th when I see my NUT. If it's small enough you don't need to crush I'm not sure of the exact size. Not sure what the appropriate time frames are either. However, I started taking mine hole one week ago. They are very small.

kaysunshine replied to liirogue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can still develop a leak a year out? I had know idea. I was under the impression that after that long you couldn't get a leak. -
How long did it take you to switch? I can take some pills now without issue. Are they small enough to take 4wks out.

Today I move on with my food stages. Skip pureed and on to mash. Yes, that's what my doctor said. Racking my brain does that mean potatoes are in? Would love to learn some of the foods you veterans ate while on mash food's!

I haven't seen my NuT...Yet and will not see her until Oct7th. 6 weeks out. I don't have a clue on the amount of carbs allowed or protein. I'm winging it until I meet my NUT. I did see a my doctor last week and he told me to move on to mash this week. That's all I have at this point. Getting most of my info from here.

We all have moments of weakness . I have several, and it's not anyone's place on this site to condemn or chastise me or anyone else. We are here to encourage each other. THATS IT. I think you handle that catty negative reply graciously and appropriately. Me on the other hand..Well!!!! Just hang on when you fall Pick yourself back up and keep it moving. IMHO.... I think a large percentage has cheated a little. For those that didn't or won't GREAT! But for those that have. This is are confession board. With like minded people....People that understand, that can guide you back on track. If a person on here had such self control why did they have surgery. Anyway. I know you will succeed mistakes and all Good Luck. -
My surgeon told me I can try refried beans today... So I did. They stayed down pretty good. I only had a tablespoon. But it was a slice of heaven. I also was told today that I can skip pureed. Just different methods I guess. Go to mash and then regular food week 4. Not saying one way is wrong or right. I'm going to keep asking questions and learning what is working for me and what's not.

I forgot to ask this question too. I should write my questions down B4 I see the doctor. BuT:blink: At what point can you start swallowing perscription pills again. Example: BP pills, prevacid, Nexium whole. Thanks in advance!

Swallowing Pills
kaysunshine replied to kaysunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Let's not even talk about the 64oz of Water. That eludes me too. Like a pipe dream for me at this time. I wasn't a big water drinker B4 surgery. But I'm working on it. -
Swallowing Pills
kaysunshine replied to kaysunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll keep crushing pills for now. That's the safest way at this point. -
Can I get any kind or vegetarian refried beans only?
