HI friends I just realized another NSV while I was driving the car today .... I could actually tilt the wheel down!! AND I had to slide the seat up!!! Seems all the cushion I've lost off my rear was holding me up and pushing me forward !! LOL OMGOSH Waahoooo!! Just had to share with those who understand !!!

@OKCPirate AWESOME JOB!!! Aren't these victories the pushes we need to keep us honest/straight/and moving forward? Omgosh ... I just love these happy stories

@@Dub ohhhh yes airplane seats .... that should be an interesting one ... I really DO like to fly ... but I always say I don't ... because of the seats ... and spilling out onto the person next to you ... the belt extender ... don't DARE get up to use the potty ... I mean ... whats the point ... SO NOW ... baby sister getting married in June ... gotta go from GA to NY ... So excited to try it !!!

@neva77 I have eaten a few pieces here and there ... but I waited until I was 5+ months out ... tummy took it "ok" ... but I eat the other things in the salad and then have a few pieces of the lettuce here and there .... no nutritional value .... so why waste the limited space!

there's always Dollar General or Family Dollar and even Wal Mart ... Kroger always has BOGO on their brand and Nature Made ... There are so many options ... and others are right ... when you're not blowing your money on candy/soda/chips/ice cream/fast food anymore ... Vitamins are CHEAP!

@marcci I know it seems so overwhelming right now ... but that is key to remember ... its just right now ... as the next few days pass and you learn what your new sleeve will and will not let you do ... you will feel better ... you will gain back energy slowly .. and you will love the new person you're becoming ... I do agree with others .. you need to get in your Protein ... that will be such a huge difference in how you are feeling ... Trust us ... Best of luck to you and have a safe trip home!

@shrinkingkimber of course you can! It's your body, your decision, your surgery ... I chose sleeve because I knew that lapband wasn't something that I was even interested in ... and bypass just looked too invasive for me ... just unnatural ... I love my sleeve and I wouldn't have done a single thing different ... Best of Luck !!

@ExplosiveAmnesia do you suppose he meant to say 1/2 of your ideal weight at 6 months and maybe he just mis-spoke ?

I am scared of carbs .... I try to keep them out of my mouth ... don't get me wrong .... I have had a bite of pizza ... the scraped off the toppings and gave the rest of the crust to the dog ( he LOVES my new way of eating ) ... I have had a cracker or two ... it's mostly the salt on the top of the cracker that I enjoy ... Surgeon drilled it into my head before and after that I had to avoid carbs ... being the rule follower I am ... I try to obey

I felt the same way @@gowalking ... But while I'm proud of the guy for doing it that way ... because Lord knows we ALL know how hard that is ... I didn't appreciate the doctors seeming opinion of the people who have surgery instead ... made me feel like I cheated on the SAT's or something ...

Isnt this just the most amazing discovery!? I feel like Columbus discovering the New World! I too have bones in my hands and wrists ... I even have a KNEE CAP !! Who knew?! I'm on my 3rd "temporary wedding ring" ... the others are too big .. and jeweler says to not size them until I'm done ... I'm good with that! I love new sparkly things

Heard a song on TV the other day called "Prozac" ... Goes a little something like this... ( to the tune of Smelly Cat from Friends ) Prozac ... oh Prozac ... What have you done to me? I no longer feel the need ... to be such a big ole "B" ! Prozac oh Prozac .... Made me laugh and wonder ... "what was my GP's ph# again?"

I am a very blessed woman ... I am fortunate enough to work with my husband ( though some would see this as a curse ) ... So all of our co-workers ( of course ) know us ... And since my WL journey ... I have heard said ... to my face and otherwise ... that my husband better "put a lock on me" and "watch me" because I just might start fooling around on him ... REALLY!?!??! I am so sick of hearing this I could vomit ... I feel it's completely WRONG and RUDE for people to "assume" that just because I'm losing weight ... doesn't mean I want to lose my husband in the process ... Thank God he knows where my heart and soul is ... because if he even FOR ONE SECOND believed a word of what people were saying ... omg ... I don't even want to think of that ... Geesh. Sometimes ... people suck.

@gowalking That was well stated ... and you're right ... It's so hard to see the new person emerging on the outside throughout this whole process ... We still see what we used to look like ... even though ... the "me" on the inside is still the same ... People never took the time to get to know me before ... so they wouldn't know that ... Their loss. I think we will always have issues within ourselves ... that is a given ... it's not an easy task to take on such a physical change without emotional issues coming along for the ride ... But it's a ride I don't mind taking

So great to know that I'm not alone in the now NEW fashion decisions! I used to wear things that "hid" me ... and going to work was a slip on pant / slip on shirt/sneakers ... Now I am buying scarves ... more jewelry ... and tops that FIT ! Turns out ... I DO have a waist! This morning in fact ... I wasn't feeling the best ... so I wanted to just slip on my crappy clothes and go ... But I didn't ... I took the time to find a scarf ... find earrings ... put on makeup ... and feel good about what I was wearing ... That in turn made me perk up a bit ... I actually don't mind clothes shopping now ... I actually seek out new ideas and tips on how to dress more current ... and not like I'm wearing a tent. Love Love Love!!!

The gas pain in my left shoulder was the worst ... The rest of it I wouldn't call pain ... As others have stated ... it was more "discomfort" than anything ... I was HAPPY to discover that the actual incisions and the surgery on my insides didn't hurt near as bad as I was expecting ... Thank you God! Best of luck to you ... The journey IS WORTH IT !!!

@sharonintx Wow. IT's like looking in a mirror ... I too, always wondered ( and secretly wanted ) to be the one that men whistled at ... or lusted after ... or gave their ph# to in the grocery store line ... But I was never that girl ... ( by the way ... I've been a happily married woman for 10 years ) ... and now that the opposite sex DOES notice me ... I don't like it ... it's so uncomfortable ... and like you ... I want to be that invisible girl that no one really "sees" ... Funny how things we thought we'd want when we didn't have them ... are now things we truly realize we never needed to be validated / loved / wanted ... I already had all of that in my husband ... and I still do
