I completely get it girls ! I wear a size Large shirt now too! And used to wear a 4xl ! It's just not real ! Right?! Omgosh. I'm so happyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!

ive been sick for almost 3 weeks ... Tylenol cold products are doing NOTHING ... but that is the only medicine on my "approved" list from the surgeon .. I'm 8 months out ... so I'm thinking it's ok to take Nyquil and alka seltzer ... those were my go-to's before surgery ... ugh.

@PageRN Isnt that the BEST feeling! I cross mine all the time now ... and it's strange but I'm much more comfortable that way now ... rather than having them side by side and both feet on the floor ... seems natural ... which is so odd! I LOVE discovering all the new things that we can do now .... new things that others take for granted everyday .... we have such an appreciation for!

food .... oh Food ... *sigh* Before surgery ... I was the sugar queen ... seriously .... I'd rather eat cake for dinner than real food ... obviously now ... can't eat that ... so I eat other things that are better for me ... cant really say anything is "satisfying" ... it's just fuel now ... My head still "thinks" about bad things ... but those thoughts don't turn into cravings ... I honestly don't crave sugar anymore ... and THAT is a blessing for sure ... I was scared that I'd stlll want cake, brownies etc ... but I don't ... When I was 1st allowed solid food ... things did taste a bit different ... but since I'm 7 1/2 months out now ... things are back to normal ... I'm loving the new life!

I'm all about the thrift stores! I've gotten several shirts in there ... WITH TAGS!!! Who doesn't love that ?! And the other posters are right ... you'll only be wearing the things for a few short months ... so it's perfect! I have on a Sag Harbor shirt that I got new with tags for $2.99! ( It was the color of the day so it was 1/2 price! ) Doesn't hurt to try!

I never EVER thought that would be a statement I would make ... Never used to care about what I wore ... as long as it was bigger than me and hid me completely ... But now ... I actually LIKE clothes and FIT properly ... and it's ok to show off the new curves! I put on a shirt this morning and to me it looked big and sloppy ... I asked the Hubster what he thought ... He said it was too big and didn't show off my figure like the other shirts I've been wearing .... He said take put it in the give a way pile ! Wahooo !! Gotta love that start to your day!!!

This is something that I think about every time I get undressed ... I definitely want my arms done ... I swear if I get caught in a good wind .... I'm outta here! My chest ... omg ... I look like a patient on "Botched" that had her implants removed ... and I don't even have implants! Tummy ... I can live with .... not going to wear a bikini....EVER ... My legs ... jury's still out on that one ... lymphedema may have other plans for them ...

My latest NSV was this past weekend .... going to Senoia, GA where they film The Walking Dead ... ( one of my most favorite shows ) ... I actually DID a lot of walking ... and didn't poop out and didn't cry and ache the whole time ... AND... I wanted to buy a t-shirt ... and am thrilled that I can buy a size LARGE now .. and it fits perfect!! Come a looooooooong way from the 4xl/5xl I used to be!!!

I love this .... does make you think twice about all the things we missed out on or didn't do because of our weight ... I'm all for the new stuff ... the new experiences ... and living a life without "not" ...

@Shainadelphia I know how / what you're feeling ... Very rarely go out to eat anymore ... whats the point ... I take about 5 or 6 bites of something and I'm done ... to me its stupid to waste the money ... Hubby says doesn't matter about the money or the food .... just enjoy what you can ... BUT ... then he confesses to me one night while I'm crying because I can't actually "bite" a sandwich anymore .... ( another story ) He tells me he feels "jipped" because his partner in crime is gone ... meaning ... we don't pig out together anymore I felt bad for him ... He looked so sad ... I know I know ... I shouldn't feel bad ... this sleeve is a GOOD thing ... but he just looked like he lost his best friend ... I told him that I'm still right here ... I just don't eat 98% of what I used to .... but i'll still go! Anyway ... back to the bite the sandwich story ... this is strange ... Had my surgery early in the morning ... that night ... all I could see in my mind and feel in my mouth was biting a ham sandwich with mayo/lettuce/tomato/bacon and cheese ... omgosh ... that image haunted me for DAYS ! and every time I want a sandwich ... that's what I see ... BUT ... I'd rather eat a few bites of grilled chicken and some salad than pig out and feel like crap ... and continue on the death rollercoaster I was on ... you hang in there ... we all have these moments ... I promise!

I was sleeved on 7/8/15 and am down 129 lbs so far ... 30 more to go to my big goal ... and anything after that is a bonus! I ( knock on wood ) haven't had any major issues ... still learning what "full" means ... Discovering so many new and wonderful things that I can do now because this extra person I was carrying around is gone! I actually enjoy clothes shopping for the first time in YEARS ... Down from a 32 pant to a 20 and 4xl/5xl shirts to a xl ... AND ... I can actually buy clothes in a REAL STORE! No more catalog only shopping for me! I would do this all over again in a heartbeat ... BY FAR THE BEST DECISION EVER!

Hey family! I have the mother of all colds ... and according to paperwork from surgeon ... ( I was sleeved July 8th, 2015 ).... I can only take Tylenol cold products...ugh. Been taking them for a few days now, and it's not doing doodle. Why can't I take Alka Seltzer? omgosh .... that is what works for me ... * sniffle * So I was wondering if any of you have any input? * cough * Dang nose running AGAIN ... Ugh. PS ... Can I drink OJ ? I wanna cry :(

@@Inner Surfer Girl Im taking the Tylenol cold multi symptom ... and maybe just maybe the heavens are opening and the clouds are parting ... because all this morning is nothing but blow the nose blow the nose ... drip drip drip .... so maybe it's FINALLY breaking up!!! Maybe have to take that medicine for A WEEK before its working on me .... *sigh* ... thought I would get through the first winter season sleeved without a cold Oh well ... here's to praying it's almost over!!

I wonder if instead of using lemons, someone could use limes? Then all you need is to add some tequila to the water and pour some salt around the rim of your bath tub. Now THAT sounds like a good time !!! LOL

Hey everyone! 6 month blood work results are in! All is within perfect guidelines ... BUT Doc says I need to get my good cholesterol UP .... its too low ... Ok ... so how do I do that? The phone conversation I had with the nurse just now was short and sweet and she really didn't give me the chance to ask ... I didn't fret about it ... Because I have all of you! So if you guys could give me a clue here .... I'd appreciate it !

@@OutsideMatchInside is right .... the further along you go ... the better it gets .. my first 4 months were a nightmare ... I missed my MIDOL so much!!! But ... it's better now ... and last month ... hardly even knew it was there ... PHEW ! Hang in there ladies ... there is a light at the end of the tunnel ....
