    Head Hunger

@Rebeccaabrooks86 Ohhhhhhh gotta love that brain of ours ! UGH! Seems it always wants to work against us when we're trying to do the right thing and get healthy ... My best advice for head hunger is ( like others have posted ) .... KEEP BUSY ... do your walking ... do your sipping ... do some online window shopping .. better yet ... walk around the mall ... read a magazine getting ideas for the new outfits you're going to wear and look hot in ! It does go away as your body goes through it's major changes and gets used to the new you you're working to create .... I promise ... You will get through it ... we all do ... and coming out the other side ... is magnificent ! Best of luck and love!

    NSV

@Dub I am with you on now having to dry the clothes in the dryer ... trying to shrink them up so I don't have to buy new ones so often ! LOVE that feeling! AMEN on the knee pain ... I'm bone on bone and should have replacements ... but because of lymphedema the surgeon said I had to loose weight first because he couldn't manipulate my knees enough to do the surgery ... BUT ... 90 lbs today! So I'm sure replacements aren't too far in my future Congrats on your NSV's !!!!!! Keep celebrating!
  4. Hey Newbies .... I read something today that clicked with me ... and thought I'd share it with you ... "Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle" So many times on here I read that people who are only a few days or a week out are comparing their WL with someone who is 3 months or more out ... That isn't fair to yourself! Everyone's journey is their own ... and everyone is different ... don't compare yourself ... your LOSS is yours! Celebrate it !

    When is weight loss rapid?

Honestly ... you don't want to lose it too fast ... that could lead to all sorts of other health issues ... Slow and steady wins the race!! Congratulations on your surgery and good luck
  6. @gruiz27 YOU my dear girl are an inspiration to all young women out there who struggle with their weight and the decision to have surgery or not ... You are so beautiful and that beauty shows in your smile ... that 1000 WATT smile you have is infectious ... Keep shining !
  7. I have had pizza ... but when we get it ... I have it cut Chicago style ... so that there are tiny corner pieces ... I eat 1 corner piece ( just the flat part of the crust ) which is about 2 bites ... I give the thicker outside crust to the dog ... and I'm done ... Satisfies my want for the pizza taste ... I've been VERY lucky in my sleeve surgery ... I've not wanted 99% of the things I ate before ... thank God ... makes the journey that much easier ... Good Luck !

    NSV :o)

Hey everyone ... I am so very excited about my NSV that I had to share with those who understand it best ! I used to wear a size 4xl shirt ... now I'm in an XL ! I'm down 6 pant sizes ... and from a 46 to 40 in my bra ! ( oopsy .. sorry guys! ) Had my 3 month check up yesterday ... doc says all is going along according to plan and they are very proud of the progress I've made in such a short time ... I cannot tell you how over the moon I am ! Anyone else have an amazing NSV to share ?!

    Naturally Thin People ... omgosh!

I just have to get this off my chest ... omgosh ... I have a co-worker who ... soaking wet .. probably weighs 90 lbs ... She just came to me and said she was getting 2 donuts this morning and will start her diet next week ... OH PLEASE ! I said ... Why next week ? Why stop now? She said ... I just don't know how to be stern with myself ... I said ... it's really simple ... you say no and walk away ... easy peasy. She laughed and said ...Yea on Monday I will .... First of all ... why diet? You're too skinny as it is ... Second ... GET YOUR FREAKING DONUT BREATH AWAY FROM ME! OMGOSH !
  10. @divagirl23 did you figure our the ticker? it's "My Tickers" when you click on your ID name at the top right of the page ... and if you just want to change your weight .... you can scroll pretty much to the bottom of the page and on the right hand side there is a box that says "together we have lost" and you just put your new weight in there ... that is how I do it ... good luck !!!
  11. Smells for sure !!! The first few weeks after surgery it was worse than it is now ... but my mom stayed with me for a few days ... and she made a bowl of Cheerios .. I almost lost it ... I had to leave the room and close the bedroom door ... YUCK !

    mini binge - anyone else?

I've often wondered when the point would come that I would start craving my old stand by's ... you know the Cookies, the cake, the brownies, etc .... but 15 weeks out ... that hasn't happened yet ... THANK GOD ... I've often thought that it won't happen as a craving from my body because of the Ghrelin that was in my tummy part that was removed during surgery ... I think that it would be more of a "mind" craving ... if that makes sense ... I know that I've not had any sugar since the 2 week pre-op diet ... so that is 17 weeks total as of now ... and I'm very thankful for that ... I keep telling myself if I do dare indulge ... that may be the end of my story ... as @ForLfKlovr said ... in past diets once it got started, that was the end of it ... ( end of the diet ) so I stay as far away from the old goodies as possible ... and even if I do run into them ... I'm on "auto off" ... seems to be the best course of action for me ... I do like that we are NOT perfect ... no one is ... and we WILL mess up ... most important thing to remember is ... we are HUMAN ... fall off the wagon ... but get right back on ...

Ugh need to vent about a Husband that doesn't understand!

My husband was on board from the 1st doc apt ... he's been my shoulder, my cheerleader, my rock and my sounding board .... I couldn't have done this without him ... nor would I want to ... However ... we work together ... at a trucking company ... so I'm around men all day long ... a lot of them are on the road for weeks at a time ... so they're always wanting to talk ... my hubby isn't a jealous person .. he knows where my heart lies ... but since loosing some weight .. he's overheard the drivers on occasion commenting about how good I'm looking and on and on ... that makes him smile inside ... but he also watches them! LOL I agree with a lot of the posters ahead of me ... surgery is scary ... and this surgery is a LIFE CHANGER ... there is a lot of understand ... a lot of changes to be made across the board ... it's not just your life your changing .... it's his too ... and kids if you have them ... He may just need a little more education ... and a little more assurance that you'll still be you ... just less of you ... which is a good thing for EVERYONE ... you get to live longer and healthier ... and he gets to enjoy more time with you
  20. @AvaFern not on the subject that is posted... but your arm surgery ... how long was it? how long was the recovery time? I don't care what kind of scars i'll have ... but are they under your arm? are they long? I've had wings my whole life .... and of course with 80lbs gone so far ... they are just so terrible .... makes me wanna cry ... so when I read that you had surgery for that ... I just thought I'd ask a few questions ... hope you don't mind ... thank you!

    VENT: Caught off guard

I remember one time at a old job ... Customer Service counter at a grocery store ... A customer wanted to cash a check that to me looked fake ... I denied it ... He started to argue with me ... so I paged the store manager to come and help out ... The store manager comes down and the customer says to him : "the fat lady behind the counter wont cash my check!" The store manager says: "Her weight has nothing to do with the fact she's not cashing your check. I'm not cashing it either... let me show you where the door is, sir." That was one time I didn't mind being called fat.

    Naturally Thin People ... omgosh!

@Threetimesacharm I am the original poster on this topic ... and I didn't say anything like that ... I was just venting about a naturally thin co-worker and her donuts ... I thought "Rants & Raves" was the proper room to vent ... so that is what I was doing ...

    Naturally Thin People ... omgosh!

@@Alex Brecher You are completely right ... and perhaps I was a bit premature in my venting about that very little incident. .. sometimes it pays to take a step back and walk a mile in someone else's shoes to see they struggle just like anyone else... Thank you for making me stop and think ... clearly I was speaking from a place of jealousy and frustration at that particular moment... And maybe I wanted the donut breath!! LOL
