    Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy

    Fantastic!
  2. @Brighteyes-I am having surgery in Cincinnati too. Before I found out insurance covers a portion I checked on self pay options. UC has a Bariatrics program at West Chester Hospital and I was quoted an all inclusive self pay with Blis of $16.5K. St. E in Northern KY all inclusive with Blis $20K. My insurance requires me to use UC's program. I have my first appointment 8/27.
  3. I'm still in the beginning stages of this process, just the initial appointment scheduled. I feel like I never get full. I never leave the dinner table with that "if I eat another bite I'll be sick feeling". I am a bulk eater and concerned that even after surgery I'll never feel full. I can eat a lot and usually stop eating when the entire bowl, bag or pan of food is gone. It's like my fullness trigger is broke and I just keep eating. Anyone else experience this?

    Never feel full ...presurgery

@laura...love the quote, it's so true. We have similar stats I'm 5'2 228 lb. did you lose any weight before surgery?

    Never feel full ...presurgery

My theory is that there was a time when i would be full but kept eating so eventually my stomache said "hey you didn't listen when I said I was full so I'm just going to let you keep eating because you won't stop anyway." I will need to measure/weigh food and eat only what I have measured out after surgery I have a 41 BMI and no comorbidities, once I do my initial weigh in will I be able to start modifying my diet and lose weight? I'm concerned about dropping below a 40 BMI.
  6. I have my first appointment 8/27 and then a psych appointment 9/6. It seems like time is dragging, I'll be happy to have that first appointment because then I'll have a starting date to count from. I'm hoping for a March surgery date.
  7. @CAND1254 was the 6 month after you had already done the initial 6 month requirements? I have UHC too but this is the first I've heard about another 6 months. Not sure I can wait a whole year.

    FINALLY!

@Ibehealthy2 I haven't submitted to insurance yet for surgery. I'm over 40 BMI so I'm thinking I'll be okay. I have my first appointment on 8/27 and then the dreaded 6 month wait to get through. Trying to stay busy and not stress out about the process.

    FINALLY!

I'm 47 with a 27, 7, & 5 year old. Just in the beginning stages. Looking forward to getting surgery approval.

    Pre- Surgery tomorrow at 8am

I have my first appointment 8/27 and then my psych appointment 9/7. Just starting but my PCP is on board and insurance has been verified. I am on a call wait list if there are any cancellations before 8/27. I'm struggling with keeping my weight up over 40 BMI because I have no co-morbidities. My care coordinator doesn't want me below 220 (I'm at 225) for my first appointment. Of course I want to exercise and stop eating so much crap now. I don't want to wish time away but I sure will be happy for 8/27 to get here.

    So excited for you.????
  13. Kate - true story my boyfriend (now husband) and I took scuba lessons 10 years ago. He ordered me a wetsuit online and asked my weight at that time. Of course I lied and it seriously took like 3 people to get the wetsuit on....I get it...lol
  14. Looking forward to reducing hip/thigh size. Being comfortable in an airplane seat. Wearing shorts in the heat of summer. Not wearing a hole on the inner thighs of my pants due to chub rub.
  15. Newbie here. I have my first appointment on 8/27 and was told during my intake call to keep my weight where it is (225) until my appointment, because I will be under a 40 BMI at 218. I have more than 5 years documentation of being over a 40 BMI, it just seems wrong to keep eating this way until the 27th. I was put on a wait list in case an appointment opens up sooner. I don't think I'm a candidate for WLS until Jan/Feb 2016. I've seen mention that time will go quickly. Looking forward to getting that first appointment under my (very tight) belt. I have a psych evaluation scheduled for September already. I love reading everyone's posts and experiences.

    Getting Started

I have a 6 month wait which seems typical. Regardless of what insurance wants my WLS center requires 6 months. Is your 3 month supervision for everything, then surgery? Have you check out your insurance yet? I have a pretty high co-pay and out of pocket costs but still less then self-pay.
