I'm in the same boat. I called 2/23 and insurance indicated they had nothing on file when MD office said they sent 2/17. I called insurance (UHC) again on 2/26 and spoke with the care management dept who confirmed receipt on 2/17. Case still in review but they did tell me the surgery date is 3/20 which I didn't know.. I spoke with a man who kind of pissed me off but I didn't say anything because I didn't want him to do anything to sabotage my process. I made the comment to him that "I just wanted to be sure the doctors office submitted the paperwork." He says to me "if you can't trust your office to send the paperwork when they say they did do trust them to do surgery.?" I wanted to tell him my insurance doesn't give me the option as to what Doctor I can use, but I didn't. So I'm still waiting. He suggested I call back Monday.

So I called insurance today and they confirmed receipt of my case on 2/17. My case is still in review with a surgery date 3/20 per insurance. I think my doctor has to pick a surgery date in order to get the precert but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the date. I am okay if it is or sooner would be good too. Insurance said to call back Monday. I could use some good mojo and prayers from everyone. -

Yeah 15 pounds that's awesome! Sounds like you must be feeling better too. When do you go back to work? Did you get any tips on what else you can eat/drink during this time? -

Thanks for the support Kyboo! Did you know or feel like you had any heart issues prior to this process? Hope things go well for you and you can move forward with surgery. -

Talk me off the ledge group....so anxious waiting for a call. Today makes one week and when I call insurance they say they haven't received a request yet. It's taking everything in me not to call the doctor's office. I need to trust the process and believe everything (including the delay) happens for a reason. I will need to change my official high weight if I keep eating this anxiety....lol -

I'm 5'2 with a HW 232 not including pregnancy. My goal is 150, but I haven't been that weight since middle school. I am pear shaped and carry most of my excess weight in my hips & thighs. I'm a size 18/20 and 1X sometime 2X top. I'm pretty active and get 10K steps a day. I have no comorbidities but have been a 40 BMI the last 10 years. -

There is a girl who works part time with me and she has insurance through her full time job. She is getting the sleeve at Good Sam. My insurance requires surgery at UC. 52 pounds in 6 weeks, that's crazy! I am so ready. Yesterday's weather made me a little miserable while walking with the kids, it was hot and it's only Feb. i can't do another summer at this weight. -

Glad you're okay. Did you get any fluids while you were there? Are you feeling any better? Did they check for a leak? I know it must have been scary. Hang in there. -

Take a deep breath, let's think this through. Do you have a fever? The watery stools is probably normal since you just started eating something other than liquids. And the thirst could be dehydration from watery stools. If you have no fever, you're not vomiting,, and you have periods of things going well it could just be part of the process. You are going to have good/bad days. If you are still worried go see the MD, but I would probably go to West Chester and not Good Sam. Did you call the MD office and speak to whoever is on call today? -

Sounds like things are getting better for you Molly. Great job on 11 pounds! I'm a side sleeper so I am a little worried about getting comfortable at night after surgery. I only get 3-4 hours at a time of sleep at night anyway because either the dog wakes me up to go out or I have to pee. Look on Pintrest for some pureed foods or Youtube, you'd be suprised how tasty some of the recipes are. After researching I feel pretty confident about meal prepping during the pureed stage. Some of the meals were stuff my family could eat in its regualr form, so no prepping two different meals. I'm still waiting on precert. Hopefully I'll hear something this week. -
I am curious how many of us are employed/volunteer in a helping profession. I am a social worker in a level 1 trauma center and notice a lot of other social workers, RN's, medical staff and caregivers on these boards. I feel like I spend so much time helping others, supporting other and empowering others, when I really should be more empowering, helpful and supportive to myself and my needs.

Glad you get to eat something other than broth. I saw on YouTube a lady who mixed the chicken tortilla broth with cream of chicken soup and said that was delicious. My last appointment was today. Dee said Diana would submit for precert today or tomorrow. Yikes! It just got real! -

I'm 47 so I'm concerned about extra skin too. I have a son whose 28 and two younger kids 5 & 7 so the belly is a concern. I really can't remember the last time I wore lower than a 16. I would die if I could wear an 8! I'm currently an 18 probably pushing a 20, due to hips/thighs were I carry most of my weight. I'm definitely pear shaped. You give me hope Perk. Where are you at in KY Perk? -

Perk we have similar stats do you feel like the first 60 came off easily (following your plan) or have you really had to work at it? Molly I can hardly contain my excitement for you. Friday will be here before you know it. Hopefully there won't be any snow issues for you to contend with. Our schools in KY are closed today. I have one week before my last appointment. Are you still liking the premeire shakes? I have been drinking shakes and trying not to eat/drink at the same time. I have found that if I don't drink while I'm eating I seem to stop eating sooner so I can set my timer for a drink and then usually end up not eating as much. I have been doing this since Saturday and I'm down 4 pounds. I have had been eating low carb and no soda as well. I told my husband we were going to eat out every night the week before starting the liquid diet and he gave me "the look" so I suggested maybe just one night...lol He is super supportive and always asking where I'm at in the process. He has always loved me for me, so it will be nice to give him the Lisa 2.0 version. I hear so many people say surgery changes their sex drive (probably TMI) I think my husband is looking forward to finding out if this is true...lol Hang in there with the head hunger, you are so close! -

What are the pre-op requirements (number of shakes/soups/calories)? Ivan gave me a post-op list so I know what to expect. Please share what a day looks like.
