@@VSGAnn2014 Im sure it does unless something else is happening, than by all means correct me. I will be referring to my Aunt who failed her gastric Bypass. They went in and did a revision and she quoted the surgeon who told her her stomach stretched to a "flabby grape fruit". So maybe its different case by case. She had a Gastric Bypass but was able to Finish a LumberJacks Morning special which is easily 3-4 cups of food compared to the 1-2 ounces shes SUPPOSE to eat. How is that possible if it cannot stretch?

African American vsgers!

Woo! I Did it! Sleeved on the 16th! I feel great to be honest. The Nurses and Surgeon himself were astonished that i was up and moving and had zero pain the whole time. By the end of it all i was just running from room to room talking to the other patients and hanging with the nurses when i wasn't taking a nap. RIght now i can get about 3oz of fluids down every 10-15 minutes which is really good. Im confident ill reach my fluids and Protein goals for the day. Ive been adding a scoop of unflavored Isopure to my ready made protein to boost it from 30g of protein to 56 grams per 11oz bottle. I do take the Pain Meds they gave me but only at night because its hard to sleep in that sitting up position and it makes it alot easier. -
Here are the Vitamins i Take! What do you take?
Mrs.Truffles posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey! Truffles Here! So i decided to share what i take! I decided to stick with a Cheap Brand(Found in Walgreen) that almost anyone can find. I was asked to share on Facebook what i take so i figured i might as well Cross post it to here. I am Still Pre-op but my Surgery Date is 9/15/2015! So almost there. I am also on my 14 day preop diet. So Consuming about 600-800 calories a day. Just giving yall an idea of what i've been taking for the past couple of weeks. I don't recommend taking what i take, this is based on my Blood results and given the OK to me specifically by my Dietitian. -I take a Multivitamin, Biotin(10,000mcg), Iron(30mg) in the morning along with B100(100mg) -Afternoon ill take Calcium(1000mg) as well as D3(2000UI) -Same thing in the Evening about 4-5 hours later -Then at night i just take another Multivitamin, Biotin(10,000mcg) and Iron(100mg) -This along with 50g-100g of Protein a day. All of this is NatureMade except for the Multivitamin(Centrum). Also the Caltrate Soft Chews are mainly for when im tired of that Gummy/Pill taste. Share your Vitamins please! I'd like to know what everyone else takes. ʅʕ•ᴥ•ʔʃ -

To be honest, i dont really like Nature made but its cheap. They are Huge and I have to slice all the tablets/pills into 1/4s to practice for post-op. -
Pre-Op Diet Experiences
Mrs.Truffles replied to Radar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my preop diet started bad in the beginning too. Dont be hard on yourself because if we had our ducks in order to begin with we wouldn't be candidates for surgery! Haha. Im still working on my Preop, my Surgery is 9/15 and im about half way through. LaborDay weekend got me. I had a Turkey sandwich calling me and i answered. That grilled sausage saw the perfect opportunity and doubled teamed me as i was down! Either way i had a good Labor Day. I currently drink Premier Protein and i prefer the strawberry over the Vanilla and chocolate so i bought a bunch as well as a few Chocolates an Vanilla just incase my tastes change after surgery. One thing Ive learned these few days is to SPACE YOUR PROTEIN APART. MAN. So im on 1 meal a day with 2 servings of protien. From 8am-11am i try and space out about 32oz of Liquids(Slow sipping practice) then at 11:30am/12pm i drink My first serving of Protein. I prefer mine kind of Slushy so it lasts alittle longer, which is real good for me. That will surprisingly curb my hunger for about 2-3 hours and if i babysit 16oz of liquid in that timeframe? 4 hours. Then, about 3/4pm, 30 minutes after i finish my drink, ill have a Meal. I Bought a bunch of those Healthy Choice Steamer Meals, Approved by my Dietitian, That's only got about 250-400 calories and 15-30g of Protein per serving depending on which one i eat. I Take my time eating Those. Sometimes i'll take me like 2 minutes to inhale one of them or sometimes it'll take me about 20 or so to the point where i have to reheat it. From there i wait about 30ish minutes to start drinking liquids again. From there i Sip on another 32oz of liquids until about 7/8pm. Then my second serving of Protein comes in. Frozen so it takes a while to get it down. After that i babysit 16oz of Water until bedtime. Another thing that helps is fruity/sweet Vitamins and supplements spread throughout the day. Its like a Mini Treat for me. Lol. -
Anyone else having surgery really young?
Mrs.Truffles replied to MickeyMax95's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@MickeyMax95 Yeah I am! I mean its funny how much crap i got about being "So young" when i went to the first couple of support meetings. Mind you im the only one in thier twnties that shows up. I mean i didnt say how old i was until the 3rd meeting but the 1st and 2nd i swear to you that EVERYONE who was in thier late 40s and 50s kept saying how much the surgery has changed them for the better and i quote "Wish they had these methods when they were younger" or "I should of done this a long time ago, Blah Blah Blah". When i finally told them i was only 21 i kept getting odd looks and someone even said aloud "Wow! Why not do it the natural way? You're young enough". The Hypocracy is real man. Lol But yeah back to the question at hand. I am so excited for this. Ive been overweight for a long time now and i just want to change my life up for the better. Ill admit im alittle nervous but thats to be expected. -

Hey! So i got my Surgery Date finally. Started this whole process back in Nov2014 and My Surgery Date is *Drum rolls* 9/15/15!! I Have a few questions? What did you guys bring to the hospital with you? Personal Stuff?(Tooth Brushes, Pads, ECT) Did your Friend/Spouse get to Stay in the patient recovery room with you the whole time? How long did you stay after the surgery was complete? Did you have a Laptop or Tablet for entertainment? Should i get my hair put up so i wont have to worry about maintenance for a few days? What were you prescribed for the pain? Any other advice for the whole experience would be great too! -

Hi! Im new here. Signed up for this very forum thread. I am 22 y/o, 260lb, and pre opt. There arent too many people i can talk to AND be able to relate to them. All the women at my WLS Group meetings are White or Hispanic/Latino. Its nice to be among other black people. Plus im sure i wont get any "But you're so young!" here. Currently 3 people in my life knows im doing this. My mother, My Husband, My Closest Friend. I am a Military spouse and i am currently going through tricare and a MTF to get my Surgery. I havent got a surgery date yet but ive jumped through all the hoops(6 month surpervised diet, tests, NUT classes) All i need to do is get the results from my sleep study then i will get the surgeons 2 week diet plan along with my surgery date! Im so excited. Ive been overweight since i can remember. In fact, my whole family is. Its hard staying fit when your Family has a cookout every weekend for no particular reason other than "We still alive!". All that greasy food, haha.I started my insurance approval process back in Late october so it's been a long year. Its so comforting that its almost over and all my hardwork has lead up to this. Anywho! I look forward to the support in the future! I plan on starting a youtube channel to record my progress as well.
