hi there, I meet with my surgeon for consultation tomorrow. I have my endoscopy on May 5th. I will find out for sure tomorrow. Dreading the endo!!!

no doubt...me too. I want to Live my life to the fullest and one day like who i see in the mirror staring back at me.

Best wishes on your new journey. I am right behind you meeting my surgeon Thursday. I can relate to the anxiety. But the mind will always play tricks on us. My thought is that i'm taking a risk every day driving to work (accident could occur) staying this heavy (heart attack) but the risk of under going a life saving surgery makes me think it's totally worth it. You will be in good hands....prayers your way.

Getting surgery in a month or 2, my deciding factor is that I knew I was biggish but then I seen pictures and bam....it's real. I have so much more to live and do and go and see. Right now, today this minute no can do. My weight is holding me back. I will be so appreciative to regain control.

I just had mine on Friday. It went well, she said I was a great candidate for surgery. Basically the bottom line is she stated she sees many people who have severe food addictions and don't fix the underline problem and come back later after surgery and have gained most weight back on. So, I think if there are things that would hurt in the long run fix, discuss now so you will be successful later:)

i'm sorry, I am with you on this process. I was told mine would be a 6 month wait through my insurance and now with the weight loss center it is now their requirements that I have to complete. I am on 9th month of procedures and extra stuff to do. I have Sleep Apnea and currently have a machine. My list of to do's included that but now not necessary since I currently have Sleep Apnea. Truthfully they don't care about your being tested 4 years ago. They want everything current. It is exhausting and frusterating. I am hoping to look at June for my surgery if all goes well. That will be 11 month into my process. Good Luck and hang in there our time will come.

So, tomorrow I meet with Dr. for Upper GI (Endoscopy) that will take place soon. I think i'm freaking myself out. I have no idea which surgery I'll end up with. I have pros/cons with both. I'm hoping to find out results of GI test since I have Acid R. bad.....i'm wondering if there is something else going on in my gutt. With that said i'm 47 which also plays in my mind "am I too old for this surgery?" I'm hoping that its a common surgery for older individuals too. I litterally am going through some mental melt down of the risks and will acid be back if i go for the sleeve or will have bad dumping if I choose RNY? Will I have digestion issues with RNY If I have IBS now? I wish I could enjoy this ride before the journey starts. I should be approaching surgery my guess is June. If anyone could answer any of my questions please do....thank you.

I have to meet the GI doc for consultation this month...psych eval April 8th Mamogram then Meet with surgeon on April 28th at that time I have all pre testing completed everything. They will submit off to insurance for approval and I'm so hoping for a May date.

Hi i'm meeting surgeon next month and nearing the end of pre testing. My question is I suffer from Gerd bad. I know when I go for the GI testing I am concerned from the years of this problem and medication over years too. Problem is, I have been leaning towards sleeve and now i'm concerned. Anyone else have the sleeve with Gerd and are you better or worse off now? I'm confused and want this sleeve but not if I suffer in the long run. Any info will be appreciated.

i'm considering bypass due to Gerd once i found out GI results

All this information is definately helpful. I will communicate my concerns with dr. as soon as we go over results from my upcoming GI.

yes I have Health Net Blue and Gold; I know they had me throughmy Network complete a 6 month waiting period with some Nutrician classes involved. I am now ending my journey and have completed most all requirements. Now waiting to meet surgeon for consultation; end of April. I'm thinking surgery will be in Late May or early June.

so is it my understanding then that RNY illiminates all Acid reflux? Or can you still have it with RNY?

Hi everyone, I don't have my surgery date yet!!!! but have psych eval in April my journey is getting close to begin. I'm 47 and still not sure what surgery between sleeve and RNY will be better for me. Waiting after Endoscopy to find out. I have Gerd and hopeful after results will determine my procedure.

Please tell me if anyone has used Health Net Blue and Gold. It is very specific but need to know if anyone has used them and how difficult or easy was it? Thank you

actually when I went to the dieticians class and support group they were pushing thier vitamins. So decline the Admin fee...I will thank you. You are so knowledgable. I appreciate it. I am supposed to get the psych eval BEFORE my consultation with Dr. Eslami right? I have scheduled for April 8th with psych eval and my clinic was confused thinking Dr. Eslami needs consultation first....I was like Why am I the one who needs to know what is going on between my clinic and Dr. Eslami's office. So aggrivating.

so maybe RNY then for me? I will be patient and see what doc suggests

Hi there, yes seeing Dr. Eslami on the 28th of April....finally. I have had my ekg done and 6 month wait. I went to his seminar and dietician class and support group. Sorry I was sounding so confussed but this has been so new to me. I had Laura Machado only to find out she would not take Health Net blue and Gold. I'm so grateful that Dr. Eslami is and my clinic in Woodland where my primary is has been working with Dr. Eslami's office. I think finally i'm heading in the right direction. I still have to have my endoscopy and psych eval before seeing Dr. Eslami. I'm definately anxious to get all done. Thank you for information. I appreciate it.
