Hi there, i'm hoping to get scheduled for surgery soon. I meet with ny dr. in 9 days after completing the 6 month waiting period. I still have a couple more tests to complete I assume. I don't know though since so many stories vary in tests. I just look forward to this next chapter of my life. I was one who thought I could never undergo a surgery to lose weight. But, as i've gotten older, wiser, I realize i'm only fooling myself with reality that I do need help. There is such a stigma that goes along with WLS that I know existis. But i'm at that point at 47 where I have to ask myself "is this for me, or am I still trying to make everyone else happy" I finally told my family and closest friends and even some co workers. I am going through with it. I of course hear positive and some negative comments. But, I have been watching my weight keep me down for too long. When you get to that point that you avoid pictures, functions, going places, traveling all because you just don't want to feel humiliated, or because you find it exhausting then you know you are making the right decision to help yourself. i don't find sleeping with my CPAP machine sexy by any means or avoiding shopping because I can't buy clothes that will fit in my freinds'stores. I am so done with this. I got married 13 years ago weighing within 10 lbs of where i'm at now. My kids have only memories of me looking as I do right now. I want this change; i'm deserving of this change. I pray God knows my heart and if it is his will he will let this happen for me.
