My first diet was prior to my 10th birthday, I wanted to lose weight so I could weigh 100 lbs. I don't remember how much I actually weighed.
I've been a Weight Watchers member countless times. I had success in the early 90's after the birth of my first daughter while living in California. We moved back home to Ohio and I gained 30 lbs that first year. I had 2 more daughters and the scale has only moved up. Dx with rheumatoid arthritis in 96, hypothryroid and on synthroid. My TSH is fine but I still have symptoms. Been on a pill for high BP for years now. Recently dx with silent GERD, snoring lead to a home sleep test and discovery of mild (11)sleep apnea.
I attended my 30th high school reunion on 7/18 and reunited with some old friends. One of them had lap band surgery a year ago and said it was the best decision she ever made. She encouraged me to investigate WLS. I attended a WLS seminar on 7/29. I got a call 2 days later saying that my health insurance covered WLS and my first appointment with the insurance coordinator is scheduled for 8/6.
I have my first group session with NUT in 2 weeks, however, this appt doesn't count toward my 3 required NUT visits. Physical is a month away. I am hoping to get surgery done before the end of the calendar year. Fingers crossed!
I stumbled on BariatricPal while surfing the web for info on gastric sleeve.
