I hand my band to RNY on December 28 as you know...the first 3 weeks was tough because my revision was all in one and the band had done more damage...erosion.etc...I now feel great...no acid reflux ,no pain and no port site issues,no dumping.I feel great.I am losing slowly but steadily.I am ok with all foods. No problems.I actually feel really good.I need to get in the exercise and I struggle with getting my Water intake but I just feel great.Overall....all the hoops and steps to finally get this revision is proving to be definitely worth it....get it done...you will feel so much better!!!!!!

I am at 46 lbs at 3.5 months since revision. I was told I am just barely under the average. My nutritionist said I should be at 64lbs lost at 6 months. She did say to expect a slower loss than someone who just had the bypass alone. No regrets this has been a fairly easy process so far.

I had only lost about 3 pounds...at that point...I am a slow loser so it didn't bother me and I also had given up caffeine....now that was hard...I had headaches and body aches for the first week but then by the second I was good.

@@antionettemn619y1 Glad you are so excited as the road to surgery can be a rollercoaster of a ride. At least it was for me. In the beginning I was so excited and as the 6 months of pre-work up was going on I questioned if I was doing the right thing. At 5' 2" and 260 lbs. I was deemed "Class III Morbidly Obese" by my Bariatric team at mayo. Reading those words was very difficult but so was my reality. I went into my RNY surgery as well educated as one could possibly be and I'm so glad I did. It was the BEST decision I've ever made. The key word being decision "I" ever made because at the end of the day, it's your body and you will be the only one who determines your success Fitting into smaller and definitely cuter clothes is wonderful. That being said, I'm 54 years young and my short lil body has been stretched out for 25+ years. Needless to say, my skin did not snap back - LOL! I'm in a size 6 pants now (down from a 26/28) but could probably fit in a size 4 if not for all the loose belly skin (yuck). I have loose arm and leg skin as well (which I can hide in clothing) but to be honest with you, I'm really OK with it. Why? Because I have my HEALTH back. That's what's going to keep me alive! Best of luck on your journey as I'm sure you'll be another success story!!!

Now that I am losing...I really see how fat I have gotten....it is slowly but surely coming off..you will go through phases for food ...liquids,purée,soft and then solids post op but all ok...I have to remind myself to eat.I have no sugar cravings. Not one piece of chocolate...
I get my fix from Premier Protein shake and sugar free Chocolate Calcium chews I got from costco.

My surgeon was a bit different .I was on soft foods 2 to 3 shakes, cream of wheat, ice pops, for dinner I was allowed steamed spinach in broth and a small piece of white fish or red snapper steamed in broth.2 days before surgery all liquids ...those sugar free pops saved my life.....

Have your last bit of sinful meals and then say goodbye starting in Feb.I had to have my Pasta, favorite Desserts etc. Then I started the food caffeine detox.Oh the caffeine withdrawal headaches was the worse.I started with a sort of Dukan/Atkins approach.I cut out sugar and carbs.I had oatmeal with Greek yogurt, steamed vegetables and a small Protein with salad or steam vegetables for dinner.Lots of spinach and kale which I steamed and sautéed in garlic and a bit of chicken broth. It started to get easier and by the time my 2 week pre op I was ready.2 days before surgery I used Miralax, dieters tea and collace to clean my system out before surgery.I purchased a good ice pack and a electric heating pad which I practically live with post op.I went Soup shopping including ((Pacific foods)organic in the carton.I ordered my BariMelts Vitamins, B12, biotin,C,Calcium Citrate, liquid iron.Bariatric Pal store is a good place to start.I purchased a few bariatric books and samples of different types of protein drinks....before you know it the time will come.It all happens so fast.Prepare.
