    Bypass vs sleeve

Your stomach does NOT remain whole. You have a little pouch that is made. The difference between GB and the sleeve is with GB they leave the remaining larger part of your stomach attached while with the sleeve it is removed(normally 85% is removed). I wouldn't want any newbies to miss understand what you are saying. Well said...people need to speak from their own experience...how could you poo poo bypass if you have chosen the sleeve.I have seen successes and failure across the board.

    Bypass vs sleeve

Listen you really gotta do your research and make sure you pick the procedure that works best for you.Cut out 85% of your stomach or reroute your intestines. These are major operations and each have risks and limitations.Whichever you choose it is no joke.... Choose wisely
  4. You gotta go for what you are comfortable .These are major operations. Cut 85% of your stomach out or reroute your insides...these are extreme measures and you have to live with your decision .So be sure WLS is for you.

Its my savior.I bought a big jar and I slather it on allover especially on the scars from surgery. Also I massage it generosly into my scalp. It really works.I use medicated antibacterial soap then apply the coconut oil after shower.

    Headache after surgery

Pain meds, the antibiotics, the anti blood clot injections all contributed to my headache.I had the same thing.I was so desperate I absorbed 2 tylenol in a small bit of Water and drank it. Ween off the pain meds. If you have not detoxed from caffeine prior then oh boy...

I suggest that you get started in a documented weight loss program with your primary Doctor.I went to my doctor 2x a month faithfully. They need to document your diet attempts...3 to 6 months so get started on that. You have a limited list of surgeons but they are all connected to Bariatric center of excellence.Get a referral to see a surgeon. Also try to attend the seminars. My surgery was at Kennedy hospital in Stratford. They were wonderful.

    Bypass vs sleeve

You gotta make up your own mind.Attend meetings for WLS.Everyone has to figure out what's best for them. You have to research and talk to your doctor and figure out which surgery will benefit you most.

    Grrrrrr!

l agree this is about WLS not a dating site, sports outlet or social media hook up site.I don't care if the doctor looks like George a Clooney .I am not interested. This is about me and my journey with WLS not the envy of others.Support site not Facebook.

ONLY TWO DAYS TIL THE BIG DAY!

Make sure get your electric heating pad and your cold/hot water bottle for after surgery! You will need it after you come home from hospital.Congratulations, your time is now!! Good Luck!
  22. Same here it is a struggle the first few weeks.I had surgery Dec 28 and it is no cake walk.As I write l am laying in bed with my electric heating pad.I had to go to work the second week for a few hours everyday. The pain was unprecedented.?..but everyday is a new day and it gets easier. I am different than most.I only weigh myself weekly.I am losing but not incredibly fast or slow...once I am losing steadily I am happy. It is not a rush game.Just stick to the plan.

    Long wait to April...

Have your last bit of sinful meals and then say goodbye starting in Feb.I had to have my pasta, favorite desserts etc. Then I started the food caffeine detox.Oh the caffeine withdrawal headaches was the worse.I started with a sort of Dukan/Atkins approach.I cut out sugar and carbs.I had oatmeal with Greek yogurt, steamed vegetables and a small protein with salad or steam vegetables for dinner.Lots of spinach and kale which I steamed and sautéed in garlic and a bit of chicken broth. It started to get easier and by the time my 2 week pre op I was ready.2 days before surgery I used Miralax, dieters tea and collace to clean my system out before surgery.I purchased a good ice pack and a electric heating pad which I practically live with post op.I went soup shopping including ((Pacific foods)organic in the carton.I ordered my Barimelts vitamins,B12,biotin,C,Calcium Citrate, liquid iron.Bariatric Pal store is a good place to start.I purchased a few bariatric books and samples of different types of protein drinks....before you know it the time will come.It all happens so fast.Prepare.

    Long wait to April...

You could use this short period of time to cut out caffeine, sodas and excess sugar...It take as awhile to detox. The caffeine headaches when I gave up coffee ...it took me 3 weeks to get it out of my system.I started to eliminate refined sugars and snacking.Beleve me the time goes quickly.
  25. It caused irreparable damage to my esophagus.I was vomiting and sliming constantly.Developed GERD.Gained back most of the weight.Only lost 35 pounds and struggled to keep it off.It flipped,Painful protruding port.?.Had it and struggled for 14 years.Carried around plastic bags for barfing. It started to erode.?..lucky to get a revision to bypass covered by insurance.
