    Bad taste

Try to eat with plastic spoons, drink cold drinks it has worked with me. I had that same metallic taste and still have it 6 weeks post op. I drank melon water made fresh with a lot of ice and it was just good just don't add too much sugar just the melon taste was refreshing.
  2. I currently have the same thing happening to me I got sleeved August 17th had (still have the slimmies) terrible nausea and vomiting around 3 weeks post op. I couldn't drink or eat nothing went to the hospital they had me npo for 3 days and Doctor said I also had that gallbladder sludge. Really lost hope in the care because the doctor went on to say everything was fine no leaks, the gallbladder was emptying. I had my surgery in TJ so I was more frantic on what could be causing this discomfort so I decided to call the doctor up and recommended I take either nexium or Prilosec and so far nexium gave me troubles. But I'm crossing my fingers for Prilosec, I can see myself slowly getting better ????????
  3. I was sleeved August 17th, and my has it been a journey. Things I didn't expect were 1. Week 1-3 felt like a breeze yes there was pain which was oddly taken away by tylenol. I did manage to maintain my Fluid intake and Protein intake I felt optimistic. 2. Week 3 there might be set backs. I didn't know I was going to get terrible nausea and vomiting. I felt weak. I couldn't drink or eat much. 3. I didn't know how easily you can end up at the hospital. I staid there for almost a week trying to not get dehydrated. 4. Acid reflux = the death of me. But Zofran is currently my bff. 5. Be careful with rapid weight loss (the irony) they found I had gallstones. 6. I was always a ice with Water type of person but now that I can just have sips, coke seems so appealing. But mind over matter, it's hard at times. 7. I agree with everyone, the fluid intake and protein intake is really hard but it's getting better. It really is a full time job trying to eat/sip sip every second. 8. Personal wise I didn't think I would need to take some time off from school but Here I am. Didn't know that would happen. Thanks for posting things guys, it's good to hear how similar we are.
  4. Well I am kinda new here but I found this place to be of great support. But as the title says a little motivation. I got sleeved on August 17th, my weight when I started this journey was 343 and now up to date I am 300 pounds. I believe I am 3 weeks post of and I have terrible nausea, it will just not go away. Since I had my surgery in Mexico there is no way I could go to my doctor so I went to my primary care physician. He basically told me that the surgery was not his specialty but he believed it was acid reflux. I told him I was taking omeprazole at home and it was of no help so he prescribed zantac to be taken as needed. He also reffered me to a bariatric surgeon but the referral takes time. I was optimistic but no luck, the nausea got worse and I started throwing up which was more like dry heaving. This lasted for about 2 days until my mom saw my condition and just told me we should go to the hospital. They did blood work and had an ultrasound done to which they found I have gallstones and the doctor recommended I go to my primary doctor to plan some surgery to remove my gallbladder. I asked if my nausea was due to that he said yes, so all my symptoms will not go away until I get my gallbladder removed. I've always been a fairly optimistic person but this is really getting to me. I am a nursing student and took a semester off to deal with this nausea so now another surgery is just out of my plans. Im close to graduating, but the nausea has taken over my life and it is just depressing. So I was wondering if any of my fellow sleevers had this happen to them? Anything similar? Any thoughts/opinions are welcomed. - Belen❤️
  5. Im at the point where the nausea is becoming unbearable so I'll give it a try. Thanks. The doctor I saw yesterday said it might be due to acid reflux, which I'm taking a 14 day course of omeprazole and still nothing. It was a waste of doctor visit, I just got a referral to a bariatric surgeon since I didn't get the surgery in the US.

We are all on the same boat. Hope these "regret" feelings pass away soon. The nausea I'm experiencing is the worst :/

  12. congrats! How are you? I know it gets tough but drink your shakes when you feel like you are going to slip, it's amazing how head hunger fools you. Keep us posted! Thanks. So far it's going good. Yes the Protein shakes are a miracle. Took the hunger right off. My surgery is in two days so im a little nervous but ready. Packing my last minute things. Any more tips on what to pack? Anything specifically you would have known before going to TJ. Happy all went well with your surgery.

    What to tell coworkers?

Hmm interesting story. I have close friends I haven't told about going into surgery the 17th since I just want just family to know. I can tell you it's hard. I would suggest just saying you're trying this new thing and if it works you'll tell them about it later. Not specifying what it is, just a broad idea. Then later when you feel more comfortable you tell them what you got done. Keep it on if they ask basis.
