  1. I have this same pain. At my 2 week check up it was just above my belly button. The doctor told me I should not worry about it as he did not fel anything abnormal. It seemed to go away. Then the same pain came back while bending twisting reaching. Only this time it was to the right of my belly. Again that went away. Today the pain started back up but this time just under my belly button. I guess next will be the left and then I will be done Being it has been just over 4 weeks since surgery, I assume my body is still healing and I may have moved wrong and irritated it.

    Cardio or weight training

How soon after surgery can you start really working out? I am 4 weeks out. I started walking right after surgery. At 2 weeks post op I started bumping my walk up to a walk/run interval 1 mile. 5x a week. This week, wk4, I started going to the gym and doing some lundges and weight training. I have hired a personal trainer that I will start seeing on the 17th. My worry is calories in/out. Since I am still only getting 600 cals a day. Any suggestions? I also go back to work next week as a CNA so I am constinatly active there.
  3. Well I am 4 weeks out. Can't get my Water in. Run/Walking daily, hired a personal trainer that I start on the 17th. But would love to know what I am doing is right and food ideas. The yogurt and shakes are getting old already but not much else seems to go down well so feeling slightly stuck. Thanks for the help!

    Severe dehydration

So this is my reply from the doctor. "The first couple months after weight loss surgery can be fustrating for patients. Sometimes even if you eat the exact same thing 2 days in a row you may tolerate it the first time, but you may not tolerate it the next time. This can be frustrating and very confusing. It sounds like you prepared the pork perfectly (crock pot all day); but sometimes it still just doesn't work and there isn't always an explaination! Don't give up on trying new foods! These types of things will get better with more time. I would recommend to continue to really focus on getting more Water. Since you are having symptoms of dehydration it may even be more beneficial for you to focus more on your Fluid intake rather than your protien intake. We do worry about strictures about 6 wks after surgery, but most of the time patients feel like what ever they eat/drink just sits there and doesn't move. This usually causes pain, nausea and regular comiting. It doesn't sound like these symptoms pertain to you? I would focus on soft foods and liquids for the next couple days. You will feel better once you can increase your fluid intake." So I guess I keep trying. I did go to the store yesterday and get some 40 calorie no sugar added popsicles yesterday to increase fluid. I must say it tasted pretty good. Hope you are feeling better! 1 cup water in for the day only 7 to go!!!
  5. My doc said 2-3 lbs a week is average.

    Soft food options

Bariatric surgery cookbook for dummies has some good recipes. I mixed some spaghetti sauce with cottage cheese warmed up in the microwave. 1 tbs creamy natural peanutbutter 1tsp honey half banana. Been struggling myself with this.
  7. I have vomited once and it was because I didn't chew well enough and food got stuck. All 2 tablespoons came up Lesson learned chew, chew, chew.

    Soft Foods

Good question. I keep going to the grocery store looking for something to eat and end up leaving empty handed.

    Severe dehydration

Ive been having the same problem. I am not even getting half the recomended 64oz. I keep water next to me but cant get it in before the day is over. experiencing dizzyness when standing and headaches. I am sure it is dehydration. I may have to try the popsicle idea. I go back to work next week and I am scared I will pass out. Guess maybe I should talk to the doctor? Had my surgery almost 1 month ago.
