Had the same issue, 4th month hair was coming out, I add more veggie fat, and that help a lot. Like coconut oil, olive oil. i just used it when I made my eggs, or other Protein. I keep my hair short, since the new growth would stick out. i too have curly hair so it's not to bad to hide the thinning. I am glad it's stopped. Over all I am so glad I got this Sleeve, it's made my life so much better and my health is 100 precent better.

I ate some soft food, what's the worst that could happen?
shortyvel replied to Joshua Torode's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you did not get sick from it, it's not going to hurt you. The list is a guide, and you are going to notice every doctor is different. Just take note, if the eggs went well, that's a good sign that you are going to be able to eat eggs without an issue. For the mean time keep up with your Nut and Doctors orders. Best of luck to you. -

Miralax should we take it everyday? I am also having issues with this. Doctor said to take Miralax if I had any problems, but I do not know if I need it everyday. Stool softener was also suggested.

First she must know that you do have to workout and eat healthy, the surgery is only a tool so that you don't eat as much. You could tell her she doesn't have to lie. She can say that medical history is private and they can ask you if they want information. Which is true, our medical history is no one's business. Get ready, People are going to be rude, jealous and out right ignorant. I have not told anyone in of my family, only my mother (who had a stoke and can't talk) and my boyfriend, because he had to take me to my surgery. I asked him not to say anything and he works in the medical field and is very aware how private medical history is. I have an adult daughter and I have not told her. I plan to, but not till I reached my goal. I have enough on my plate and don't feel like dealing with people who have issues of their own.

Had my surgery on Jan 5th. First four days were the hardest. Had pain and gas. I try to get 75 to 90 g of protein by drinking protein drinks. Water is easier now always seem to be thirsty, I was 217 before surgery now I am 205. I don't want to loose too quickly to avoid the skin sagging issue. I am happy with the lost. I eat Greek yogurt, broth and mashed beans not all in one day, but pretty much what I eat for the week. Not really hungry. Only can get 500 to 600 calories a day. I was size 16 now in 14. Feeling really good. Multi vitamins, iron, biotin, d ,c and calcium as well as B12.

December 2015 or January 2016 sleevers ?
shortyvel replied to neequa25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had my sleeve on 1/5/16. I was home on Thursday. On protein diet and liquids diet for one week then on soft foods the next week. Everything went well. I was nauseous and in pain for one day. The Meds helped a lot. By Thursday I felt much better. Today my fifth day I was out at Aldi's getting organic stuff to make my protein smoothies. I can drink about 64 oz of water in 12 hours and two protein drinks in 10 hours. I try to have broth with my vitamins so it won't upset my stomach. I have not weighted myself yet. Will do so on Sunday. But I know I've lost weight. The Victoria's Secret Pjs I got for Christmas wouldn't fit and now the pants is lose and feels comfy. Scars are healing well. I am not hungry but it could be the protein drinks. My breakfast one almond milk and is filling with protein powder. A little Greek yogurt to change up a little. -

How wonderful for you that all is going well. I have two more days, I hope it goes as well as yours. Best of luck to you. -
I think once I've had my surgery and can eat solid, I will share some recipes with you guys. I may be fat, but I ate healthy, just had no position control. no matter how healthy food may be, if you eat a lot of it you'll gain weight. I love home made soup. and let me tell you a good white bean soup and turkey sausages with some kale can be really good for you and taste great. High in protein. I'll share later promise.

I use grated ginger, garlic, soy sauce,a little olive oil to marinate. Then heat up a iron skillet and cook on both side for about 5 min each, until it firms up. place on a bed of spinach or kale. That fish posted looks like tuna not salmon, how odd.

I am 52 I have two adult children, and one granddaughter. Happily divorce for over 15 years! Wow it doesn't seem that long ago. I work in the IT field for over 30 years, which I enjoy. I was marry for 20 years. I do have someone in my life, however, I like not being marry. Don't get me wrong, I believe everyone should get marry at least once. But it's not for me. However, if it's to be then who am I to stop Destiny. In the meantime, I do enjoy traveling, photography. I love spinning, and not the exercise, but the actual making yarn from wool on a spinning wheel. I love using exotic yarn to knit, crochet, and weave. My most favorite of all my hobbies is sewing! Which is one of things I am looking forward to, which is, not having to buy so much fabric to make huge clothes! I use to be able to keep between 130 to 150, but ever since my second pregnancy, I've never have been able to get down to that weight. The lowest I've reach is 168 and it was with the help of pills, which means that it all came back and then some. I have pretty much made my peace with my weight. Telling myself that as long as I am healthy it's okay, and besides, I was still pretty sexy curvy. Then soon, as it's to be expected, High blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol all creep in. I have family history and know very well how all of these are destroyer of life, and I just love life too much to have to deal with health issue. So now on Jan 5, I am going to begin taking steps to a better me. I thank you all for the good advice we get on this forum. I feel better prepared for what is to come. Don't stop believing! Happy New Year!
