A new beginning is exactly right. I completely looked at this operation like I was pressing my "restart" button.
I had to do 2 weeks of liquids prior to surgery. So, you are lucky if you do not have to do that. Although, it did help me drop 15 lbs prior.
Thankfully, I have had no problems with my recovery over the last month. The day of surgery and the one after I did not feel my best but the recovery has been amazing since then. I cannot believe how fast my body went back to feeling normal. I was very careful to follow my doctors directions and I still do as I am currently in the mushy food phase.
Immediately after surgery, just as they say, I had a hard time consuming the Water and Protein. (Only because I didn't want to ingest anything at all.) I looked at like it was my full time job and I managed to get it all in those first few days. It has gotten much better since then and I drink like a normal person again.
Now, my struggles are making it through food at the family reunion (that was yesterday), finding a protein supplement that I have not grown tired of, making sure I walk each day, etc.
I could type a book about my past 5 weeks. Is there anything specific you wanted to know? Also, what area of PA are you in?
