So, I'm not sure who else to ask, I'm sexually active for the first time in four or so years. I'm down 168lbs. With that has come some fantastic loose skin on my arms, thighs, and "apron". The Issue I'm having is I have to "dig" past the extra skin when alone and help with my fella, he's a newish fella and we get along really well. I'm not quite a year out and do plan on having a tuck next summer, but will it help? I'm not sure how to talk about this issue because I don't know if the looseness there is now will tighten up. It feels like the skin on my lower half is all just hanging as low as gravity will let it including the parts covered in coarse hair. Has anyone else experienced frustrations with sex after weight loss and then had a tuck? Did things get better or am I just over thinking all of this?

Puke, rehydrate, and eat less next time. Try not to make puking a habit you don't want to end up bulimic. 1. It's better then stretching out your stomach. 2. You'll feel better.

Has anyone tried the Bariatric Pal Food or drinks?
SPettijo replied to Changed2016's topic in Food and Nutrition
Yes, i have tried a number of products from BariatricPal Store. I like the variety pack of Protein bars that has the lemon meringue flavor. The cereals are pretty good. I tried the pancakes too early but the taste was perfectly reasonable. I have reviewed different products on the product page. The chips and pretzels are hit or miss depending on the flavor you like. The chocolate cake is awful. I haven't tried any of the shakes. -
After surgery and cheese
SPettijo replied to Ashley Cherradi's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had problems with just about everything post surgery. cheese is still a maybe for me. If it doesn't work not try again in a couple weeks. -
DO NOT TAKE NSAIDS! Advil is an NSAID. The only over the counter med you can take are Tylenol and off brand Tylenol. If you need something for cramps talk to your OB and don't choose something that could be very hazardous for your new guts. I have PCOS. A month after surgery my period started... a month later it hadn't stopped. I got a full check up and my OB put me on hormones to regulate my periods. I did not however get put on birth control. Please remember you have to wait to get pregnant so if you aren't on the pill please use some other form of protection. I use a heating pad and while the idea sucks, more exercise. usually lighter stretches and then meditation to relax the muscles.

No, consider yourself allergic to ALL NSAIDS and tell any medical professionals from nurses, check in, and doctors that you are ALLERGIC to NSAIDS. Especially tell your pharmacist so they can double check anything new you're taking.

An Update. I have ordered another big box of foods including some breakfast cereals and one of the Pasta dinners. As I try things I will try to keep this thread updated in the first post. Just as a note The Hot chocolate is especially good mixed with skim milk! I use a glass measuring cup and pour in 8oz of milk the microwave it for 1 minute. in my oversized coffee mug I pour in the mix then add on top about 6oz of the hot milk and stir with a whisk or fork until all the clumps are gone then stir in the last 2 oz of milk. It's been perfect almost every time. I messed up the first time and added the milk before the powder and got a lot of clumps. You live and you learn! Very young new store has amazing customer service and the man I spoke with on the phone was really helpful! I accidentally got a duplicate and they are sending out the replacement of the thing I ordered at no charge. So far I am very pleased with the variety and quality of BariatricPal foods.

I ordered several of the variety packs from the new BariatricPal Store. I didn't order any Protein shakes because I hate Protein Shakes. Soup Sampler: I haven't tried any yet but an excited for protein rich foods. Hot Chocolate: I did not receive the irish cream which I was looking forward to but did get a second of the regular flavor. Regular is certainly better than any Protein shake I've ever had. Cinnamon: probably going to be my favorite new protein treat! A note on Protein Bars. I'm not a fan to me they all taste like shitty fake candy bars. High Protein variety pack protein Bar: 12-15 g Protein/bar the small size makes it easier to eat in one sitting. Rocky Road. Was great until the second bite when it tasted just like any other Protein Bar. The last bite helped some. Bariatric Pal 15g Protein Bar -Sampler Pack Dark chocolate S'mores - Gross just like all the other protein bars out there. No S'mores taste no marshmallow taste. Frankly this one was a disappointment. Hot Breakfast sampler pack Blueberry pancake - tasted reasonably good I really liked the blueberries! i only ate about half because the bread texture filled me up pretty quickly. I made one big pancake but I would suggest make three or four half dollar sized so you can more easily eat them and know what percentage you're eating. Also add the last part of Water in stages mine was kind of thin and I wish I hadn't added so much water. Kay's Natural chips 1.2oz 12gProtein Crispy Parmesan- Good flavor couldn't finish the bag would be nice for an occasional treat. White Cheddar- Had the texture of a pork ring and I couldn't finish the bag. Again it would be good for an occasional treat but I prefer the texture of the parmesan. Chocolate Coated Soy Treats. 15g Protein/bag -You can really taste the soy but it's pretty nice. I divided the bag into three parts for 5gProtein treat without overdoing the sugars. --I'll be taking a full bag to the Halloween party I've been invited to so I too can enjoy some "Halloween Candy" I ordered the raspberry Gelatin and instead received an entire box of raspberry hot chocolate. I will wait until I have tried the raspberry out of the sampler pack before I decide to complain or not. Okay now that you've read that I will happily send ONE person a sample sample pack It will include three mint chocolate protein bars 1 mint hot chocolate, one broccoli soup, one omelet and one pancake mix. The FIRST person to send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE requesting the sampler pack will get it. I will make no substitutions for other samples. I hate mint and I know a lot of people love it so any mint lover who doesn't want to sprent $11 plus shipping well here you go. I will ship it to you free of charge if you give me an address that can receive perishable foods. The sampler pack has been claimed. I hope this review has been helpful.

You get it by ordering it from the store... and you get in it pretty much what it says in the description of said sampler pack. I got one replacement in the hot chocolate sampler instead of Irish Cream I got a second regular flavor.
-
While I understand the temptation the recipe doesn't have enough Protein for me to eat it.

I ordered the hot chocolate variety pack from the BariatricPal Store and I'm three deep into it and really enjoying them. I add 8 oz of Carbmaster lactose free milk by Kroger (Dillion's in my part of the country) and it makes a 26g of Protein treat. When I get to the end of the day and realize I'm behind in my protein I make one up and enjoy while watching a tv show. I will try them all except the mint (can't stand mint for some reason but I've never tolerated it well.) So far the cinnamon is my favorite.

Hi there, I am having a hard time with chewy foods. I got the clear from my doctor to eat anything to get my Protein in. I've been eating a fairly regular diet of: B: Egg sub with cheese or Low Sugar PB with WW Crackers and Bacon = 20ish Grams Protein Iced Coffee: Decaf with Kroger Carbmaster Milk = 11g Protein (not everyday) L: "Kibble" 30g Shelled Roasted pumpkin Seeds 28g Roasted salted Peanuts and 20g Whole Grain Goldfish = 20g Protein D: Protein Powder "Cookie"/Bar = 18-24g Protein I usually can't finish this. I know I'm not getting in my protein. Total daily Protein I'm getting is only about 45-50g. I would really REALLY like to come up with foods that are better for me. I hate that I am eating Bacon and Goldfish crackers everyday. I NEED alternatives. I'm only able to eat really crispy foods, really crunchy foods and soft foods that don't require a lot of chewing. I'm not tolerating meats very well at all and would like to incorporate veggies. I saw a recipe for roasted chickpeas that I will try out tomorrow, but I need more than just chickpeas.

Well, I made Seafood Bisque for dinner... and then couldn't get it down. Which was too bad because the soup was nice but I just couldn't get the chewing down. I took it to a potluck and everyone else loved it so I sent the leftovers home with one of my friends. They didn't know they were eating bariatric soup either, it was great. I'm really frustrated with not being able to eat meats. I'll try a bean and cheese soup tomorrow. So far today all I've had today was a few spoonfuls of bisque. I'm headed out to the grocery store to try and find something tasty and pick up my weekly try these veggies and fruits.

Pretty much all meat is out including deli I continue to try something old and something new meat wise each week I used to love eating meat. I smell it now and gag. I'm okay better with the egg sub and cheese. I use cheese made from skim or 1% milk. The PB and crackers are on days where I can't eat the egg after I've made it and sat down and can't eat it. I use a high Protein low sugar PB and very few crackers I intend to replace the crackers with apples as soon as I can keep them down. The Bacon is what I want to replace turkey bacon isn't much better for you then center cut pig bacon so I don't see it as a valid option. I DO NOT want to eat Peanuts and Goldfish for lunch. I am cutting out the Goldfish completely but wanted to be honest about what I am eating. I will try making soup, I'm thinking a ham(extreme lean) and bean chowder/stew would be chalk full of protein and if I cut the ham small enough I might be able to eat it. I'm hoping that if I can eat bacon I can eat ham. It's really the texture that gets to me... bacon can be made extra crispy and Ham can not... I'll try it anyways maybe if I beat it to death and slow cook it for 800 hours it will be soft. :crosses fingers:

I had that. Didn't get any treatment but used a walker to get around so I didn't fall down. Things got better for me when I was able to eat more. I also started drinking G2 and SF Powerade because I wasn't tolerating the Vitamins I was on.

I didn't try that brand post surgery but I tried SF lemonade and it didn't sit well. Might have been a fluke, I loved Minute Maid SF lemonade and miss it terribly.

2 wks post rny and feeling like it's a mistake
SPettijo replied to sshield8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're not a failure. This is just a time for a lesson. I ate popcorn early on because nothing else tasted, smelt, or sounded good. You might try sugar free pudding or Soup. Right now is the time to worry about Water and then focus on Protein. I had surgery on July 15th and am just now touching 60g/Protein. I'm not so great at this motivational stuff but it's just a few crackers then you shouldn't worry unless you make it a habit, try not to make it a habit stay on here so you can get support from loads of people who are going through and have gone through all of this. :hugs: -
Hey there, I was looking around at my old blogs and I found one that I started two and a half years ago. It has a delicious recipe I had forgot about. pizza recipe once I've perfected it.
-
I made a pizza with a soy flour crust. Low carb low fat and tasty as all get out. The total pizza was 600 calories and 60ish grams of Protein. I cut it into three slices and ate just one. I didn't crave anything else I used homemade pepperoni made from 91% lean ground pork(turkey pepperoni would probably work but I like cooking). I used skim mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce instead of pizza sauce which almost always contains sugar. I added the seasoning to the crust. Half the protein was in the crust and half from the toppings. I'm having a hard time eating anything but I did manage to get through one of the slices. I don't have the crust recipe, my Aunt was being helpful and recycled it.

Yes I have used Extenders. The bras I liked didn't go up to the band size I needed so I got ones where the cup fit. I Used bra size 44D/DD (depended on the bra) to get up to a band size 50/52 They work fine but do tend to stretch out and your bra straps are more likely to slip out from under your clothing. I have the "luxury" of being unemployed and have just been wearing "Sports" bras from walmart. They are more like half tank tops with elastic under the breasts, but they do a reasonable job. A 3 or 4 pack from walmart runs around $10. It is nice to have when you just don't want to put on a real bra.

Orange Roughy My grandparents refuse to eat fish, they hate it. When Grandma was trying to be healthier the only variety of fish they would eat was orange roughy. She used to lightly fry it with a Mrs Dash seasoning mix. I would suggest as a Baritric patient slicing a lemon and putting a couple pieces down in the middle of a piece of foil adding seasoning of you choosing (lookup suggestions on the Internet if you don't know what you think would taste good) Season both sides and place fish on lemon slices add additional lemon slices to the top and make foil packet bake in the oven. The lemon keeps the fish from sticking to the foil and add a nice flavor. If you don't like lemon, limes work well too but they're tart so some sweeter spice like nutmeg might help cut the sour. I haven't tested these suggestions. I prefer Pollock and Salmon which are more fishy than I would suggest you start with.

Sleeping comfortably after surgery

I'm glad it helped!
