  1. I have standard which is a PPO and it has worked very well for me and my family. Is it worth the extra cash in my opinion? Yes, being able to go to whatever provider I want to has its perks.
  2. Switch to BCBS as soon as you can. They are very supportive of bariatric surgery. My whole process was a breeze. It took 3 months and a couple of appts. Cross the t's, dot the I's sort of thing.
  3. Less than 6 hours until I'm on the table and wouldn't ya know it!! I can't sleep!!! Grrrrr!
  4. Hope your recovery continues to go well. I'm excited for my day to get here but honestly am worried about recovery and if I'll be miserable or not.
  5. Post op 1 week? So how bad is it?!?
  6. Thanks! I'm really excited. I'm sitting in my pre-op class this morning waiting for it to start. Nov 9 can't come soon enough.
  7. I just got insurance approval through BCBS (fed) yesterday. My surgery date is Nov. 9th. It took 2 days to approve it once everything was submitted by my surgeons office.
  8. Well I hope it's not an issue like they made it out to be. 5lbs on me is nothing, it's a meal and some water. I'll told them the 5lb plus some would be gone next month when I weighed in. Then they told me not to lose to much. Craziness! I'm just ready to get approved and get on that table and get this done. Excited for this new "tool".
  9. I put on 5lbs this last month and you would have thought I committed a felony! They told me I needed to lose what I had gained cause of insurance, blah blah. They were none to pleased. Personally I think it's because I just ate big breakfast. Lol!
  10. I'm in Hampton Roads, VA area. More specifically in Norfolk. Glad everything is going fairly smoothly for all. I agree, the insurance coordinator is what keeps the ball rolling. Mine seems to be on point and impressive. Did or is any of your docs requiring you to drop any weight or just suggesting you do?
  11. Great to hear ASUgrad! After my NU appt on Wed I got a penciled in surgery date of 11/9/15. So excited, I hope it all goes smoothly. Fingers crossed!
  12. Ok, thanks so much. I will just fill it out to the best of my ability, honestly and roll the dice.
  13. Ok, so a question for you all. With my BCBC Fed I'm required to fill out this sheet for "NON-MEDICALLY SUPERVISED DIET HISTORY". It has a long list of different diets starting from weight watchers going all the way down to "other". Says to fill out what year, how long, weight loss and weight regain. Has anyone else had this exact same piece of paper to fill out? I'm worried if I'm completely honest it will give them a reason to deny the claim or some other crazy thing. I don't want to over do it either. I've tried at least half of the ones on the sheet and sometimes more than once. Any secrets to making it look good for approval purposes?
  14. I can't wait to be in the same shoes you ladies are in. Tomorrow is my 3rd appt of 4 required by insurance. Can't get here soon enough! The MD's office told me that on my 3rd appt that she would give me a tentative table date. We'll see what happens in the AM.
