If you haven't had surgery yet what are you most afraid of?
magicalwoman replied to mimorison's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love getting nekkid in front of coworkers! Yikers...YUCK, has anyone seen my coworkers? My fear is gas in my belly, constipation and excess skin. I can deal pretty well with pain, but the three above kind of have me stumped. Someday I am going to develop a Mac and cheese with Bacon Protein shake, Double Cheeseburger Protein Shake, Pepperoni pizza with double Cheese Protein Shake. Or better yet a pill you can swallow that will trick your senses into thinking they have eaten a big juicy steak, baked potato with garlic bread and cheesecake for dessert. My work here is done. -
I agree, you have made amazing progress. Don't let one nail tech sway you. I would LOVE to be your weight right now. Keep up the good work.

Pre-Surgery Diet - What's yours
magicalwoman replied to magicalwoman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is September 9th as well. See how the pre surgery diets change. I can have 3 Protein Shakes a day, and a Lean Cusine dinner at night or 4 shakes and a lower calorie dinner. September 9th is an awesome date!!!!! -

You can also try Amazon. I have found some good prices there too. -

I just LOVE all the input! I am "nesting" too. I went today and bought some Campbells single Soups. I also found a couple other bargains. Muscle Milk Protein shakes, 25g protein a four pack for 3.99, then I bought 3 cans of crab kind of like tuna. You mostly see imitation crab, so I grabbed this. I will take a picture and upload soon. Cool. -

magicalwoman posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just received my final order of unjury chicken Soup. I'm going to take a picture of my supplies. Not long now! I want to thank each person in this forum for the support, ideas, help, and friendships. Together we will all have success stories. -
I thought I would post a link to my surgery center's webpage. I hope others post theirs if available. So many of these sites have very useful information. http://www.nwwls.com/ Thanks for sharing.

Food menu?!?!? Bored already
magicalwoman replied to jayali's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just a week out from my surgery date, so I am trying a bunch of recipes to see what I may come up with. Yesterday I made a casserole type dish that would be a puree blend. LOL Puree or diced tomatoes, then ricotta cheese, then mashed cauliflower, then chopped spinach, topped with some mushrooms. A bit of Cabela's seasoning and it was delish! I love ricotta and mashed cauliflower. -
Concerned about excess skin

I'm kind of confused. Your profile says your surgery was in Nov. 1999? -
I live in Washington State, Snohomish County to be a bit more exact. I am employed by the State of WA, and it took me about a year to get all my ducks in a row. This included 6 months of supervised weight loss prior to approval. My surgery date is September 9th. Just wondered if anyone was close to me or even used Northwest Weight Loss Center in Everett.

You can shop online. I have found the best deals at a local market here called Grocery Outlet. I have ordered online through Amazon and unjury.com Many options and flavours. Syntax has lots of fruity flavours, where Unjury has a highly recommended chicken broth/soup flavour. I really, really like ISOFemme, Creamy vanilla Sky. This I found at Grocery Outlet for 9.99 for a 15.3oz container. Online it sells for over 25.00 You can also google Protein shakes. Good luck.

I use Voltaren Gel. I have BAD degenerative arthritis and the pain is horrible. I use the Voltaren Gel on my knees, feet, hands etc and it works like a charm. Perhaps ask your Dr. about getting the gel rather than a pill.

I went to my PC Doctor today and then to my WL Center to have my final pre-surgical check up. I lost another 12 pounds (at primary), 10 pounds at WL Center. I choose to believe 12 pounds! Everything is all set, 1 week follow up to surgery appointment made. Now I just wait. Both my Dr. and the Surgeon were very, very pleased with what I am doing. My BP was down and all systems are working well. Today is a good day.

Pre-Surgery Diet - What's yours
magicalwoman replied to magicalwoman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope that we all realize that different surgeons and centers have different advice for different patients. I've read so many different things about pre surgery diets, post surgery diets, rice, Pasta, gravy, bread the list can go on and on. I think we all need to be mature enough to know that while we gain insight and knowledge from each other, our surgeon is our #1. I'm not sure if there is a steadfast, absolute right or wrong. Sharing, caring and celebrating our lives is what it is all about. Magic -
I have the "sure fire cure" for hiccups! Never fail... Take a silver teaspoon, place it firmly on your temple. So you will press the spoon to your temple. Then drink as much Water as you can. Usually this is at least a couple ounces, but as much as you can. Hopefully you can drink enough water for it to work. Let me know.

Post Op Diet - How did you handle this? were you afraid?
magicalwoman replied to Frodo's Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hockeyfan, that is WONDERFUL.................. What an inspiration to each of us. I am so hoping my body stops hurting and aching. I know I have medical issues to address because of an auto accident, but the thyroid meds, the high blood pressure, the Cpap machine, the meds to sleep because my body can't relax. I SO want to be done with it all. Congrats on all you have accomplished and great name! -

I worry about a bunch of these things too. I hope that I can stay strong, and find stuff I enjoy, I hope I don't get sick. Today is my bad day, I just wish the entire day was over. -
Doesn't it get annoying?
magicalwoman replied to missy5099's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not telling anyone else. I've told my HR, my direct supervisor and a couple friends (who are happy for me). However, I have told a couple people at work and they say "What?, What is that?". Seriously! Right now I am feeling a bit down, I don't know why....sipping on my Syntrax Fuzzy Naval! I wish today was OVER! -
Something new

This sounds good too. I also have a Ninja with Ultra IQ, so I'm hoping that will blend anything. Thanks for another good recipe.
