Quinoa or couscous, after surgery?
Quany replied to Ashlegal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told I can have quinoa during the regular food stage. Every Dr is different but the regular stage for me started at week 5. He suggested quinoa because it's a good source of protein. -
in the hospital on my birthday waiting to be sleeved
Quany replied to jenjen2781's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Quany - How are you feeling? What's your progress been like? I've been doing really well. I'm down 30 pounds. I've been in a stall for the last 2 weeks but my Doctor just cleared me to work out at gym. I am able to get on all my fluids and I'm prettying doing trial and error when it comes to food. The only thing I have a problem with it the no drinking while eating rule. -
Lol this is hilarious!

Should gallbladder be removed during surgery?
Quany replied to Kym Preslar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think that is necessarily true. About 25% of patients get gall stones and may have to get their gall bladder removed. Pretty much you could wait it out, as it may not affect you at all. This was one of my biggest concerns. My Dr. told me to watch what I eat after surgery because fatty, oily foods causes gall stones. I'm 5 weeks out so far so good. -
I didn't do abs because I'm only 5 weeks out. I go to the Dr. Friday and I'll find out when it's okay to start working on the abs

For those sleeved on or around 7/29/15
Quany replied to majorsmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 7/29. SW 274 weight before surgery 268 CW 243. So I'm about 25lb down, 15 pounds was lost the 1st week after surgery. I've been stalling this last week but judging from the others post, it's completely normal. I'm not worried at all because after this month I should be cleared to work out in the gym. Good luck everyone! -

73 Days out and struggling with nausea
Quany replied to nicolewilliams's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try a little pickle juice but be careful because it does have a lot of sodium. There is a current post that was talking about the effects of pickles an nausea yesterday. A lot of people seems to think that it helps (including me) -

Quany replied to AlphaB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The vitamins for me is the hardest. I take the celebrate chewables and the 1st couple of days were fine but now I literally want to puke whenever I take them. I prefer to take a pill that I can swallow. I always drink protein shakes whenever I tried to lose weight in the past so it was easy for me to get use to. However those shakes get boring, I've been mixing pb2 in my chocolate shakes and it literally taste like I'm eating a Reese's peanut butter cup ( yum). Btw were practically neighbors I live in Edison. I had my surgery with Dr. Foster with the NJ bariatric institute. Who was your surgeon?
