I got a fitbit on July 11 and it died on August 11...I was up to 7500 steps a day. My replacement should arrive tomorrow and I cannot wait. I find that it keeps me really focused on my goal of walking. I found myself walking more, parking farther away, etc. I like it a lot and it helps me.

What are the best protein powders and vitamins?
Mandala27 replied to ms8's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure unflavored. I got it so I can add it to anything and it does not have to be sweet. So I can add it to broth, etc. -

How much liquids should i get in daily
Mandala27 replied to svasquez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At a minimum 64 oz a day. You basically have to sip constantly throughout the day. I have heard of people taking Water bottles and marking them with 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm....etc. and making sure you have sipped to that point by that time. Please stay hydrated! -
Carbonated drinks after surgery?
Mandala27 replied to Half of Bri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was asked to eliminate all carbonated beverages. I cut those out 6 weeks ago so I could get in the habit of not having them. It has not been bad at all. -
Yes, I bought one about 6 weeks ago just to track my steps. It keeps me focused on number of steps and keeps me parking far away from buildings to get more steps in. Good luck!

Don't worry. You will be given a couple of antibiotics to take for two weeks prior to surgery. You should be fine.

Join the group. I was surprised when they called me last week and told me to start taking 50,000 of Vitamin D once a week. I feel a bit more energy since I started taking it.

Hi. I am going through the program at Beth Israel Deaconess in Milton. Have completed all the tests, sonogram, psychological eval, met with NUT. Next week I meet with Dr. who provides medical clearance, and meet with NUT to see if I have lost any weight in 3 weeks. After this they decide if I am good to go, then I meet surgeon and get surgery date. Cheers.
