    any may sleevers?

I'm May 2nd too! I'm getting really excited and nervous and excited I should treat myself to a pedicure too! It would probably relax me a bit. This is my first surgery under general anesthesia. I'm never to sure how I will be, but I had c-section and this surgery is less evasive...so I'm hoping recovery will be easier! How are you doing on the pre-op diet?

    May 2nd Surgery

That's good news for your husband! I am sorry that you are going through all this. Would you be denied from your surgeon or insurance? I thought it was pretty common these days to have the revision. I started at 40 bmi (back in August) and was so nervous I was going to drop below and get denied - that I unintentionally gained more weight over the course of 9 months. My process was a bit longer than most, because I was on anti-depressants, but not seeing a therapist. They wanted me to do 12 weeks of therapy. When that was completed, I was weighed in and was told I needed to lose 15lbs to before I was even allowed to meet with my surgeon. It never dawned on me that sleep apnea (I had just been diagnosed) would be considered a co-morbidity, until my nurse confirmed it. Extra anxiety over nothing. You should contact your insurance/surgeon and ask, just in case. Keep me posted on how you both are doing!
  3. Anyone else having surgery on Monday 5/2? I just had my pre-op telephone interview and I go in this Monday to meet with the anesthesiologist and to do my final blood work. It's getting so real! I am excited and nervous, but mostly excited! I've been re-reading all of my material the hospital gave me, scouring the forums, and reading up on healing from surgery. I feel like I am studying for my finals!

    Psych Eval

I agree with katane. This happened to me and I was very upset at the time, but in retrospect, I am so glad it happened this way. I was only in my psych eval for 20 minutes. I think she had her decision made up when I told her I was on antidepressants and hadn't seen a therapist in a few years. I had to have 12 weeks of therapy before I could meet with my surgeon. It really was the best thing to happen to me. It has helped me to slow it down a bit and prepare. And now I have a therapist I trust and can discuss any problems before or after surgery I might have. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow and schedule my surgery! Long road, but well worth it!
  5. J170...how are you doing? Only 5 days, right?
  6. Congrats! I am about 1/2 way through all post op visits and I meet with the medical director at the end of the month. I had my RN appointment this week and i was just below 40 bmi. So now I need to make sure I don't go below when I see her again at the end of the month. It's strange not trying to lose weight and actively trying to keep my weight up a couple of pounds. ????
  7. I want to be way more active! Paddle board, surf, hike, bike, yoga, softball...you name it! I want to really enjoy the rest of my life and get back to what is really important, spending time with family and friends (not eating or drinking) and having more energy and confidence in my work! I am very excited!
  8. Ha! I wonder if I could use weights if I wore loose enough clothing! ???? and it's true, I'm eating more than I usually do...just to keep from dropping. I have to do a 4 day food diary and I'm embarrassed what it will look like. I am going to have to sit there blankly when the NUT goes over it. ????
  9. When in the beginning do they typically do the weigh in? Do they do more than one? I am at 40 bmi (no co-morbidities) and I am so afraid of dropping below. I've been at 40 for a long time but my nerves might make me lose a few pounds. I guess I just want to be prepared. Thank you!
  10. South of Boston here and going to BI in Boston, too! Just starting out and have most of my pre-op appointments booked for August and September. I hope it all goes smoothly. It would be nice to have the surgery before the holidays!
  11. No surgeon yet. Just at the beginning of everything! A friend had Jones, and recommended him. Were you happy with his work? Thanks!
  12. I just had my first visit to Beth Israel today and they started the ball rolling right away! I am scheduled for about 8 other appointments over the next two months. I feel confident I am making the right decision, but I can't help but feel nervous too. I know that it's different for everyone, but curious to hear what your time frame is/was from labs to surgery date? If you are going to BI, even better thank you!!
