Hello all, Do you know of any doctors of centers that would agree to fill or unfill the mid-band in the Boston area? Thanks a lot

Hi all, after seeing quite a few pictures from (Before & After) thread and (NSV photo) thread I noticed the need to start a thread to show the ladies breasts before and after the band. I think it would be a great source of info since we can get a clear picture of how breasts reacts to weight loss, and in the same time it would be a great chance for ladies to show off their most valuable asset to our community. Regards, Magic

Hi all :clock: I've been around here for a while, so thank you all for your wisdom and support. I will be going to France soon for my Mid-Band with Dr. Frering. So soon I will be a bandster too Just a question, my Dr. said that he will need me to start the liquid diet one week before the surgury. Is that normal? or how long did you go on that diet for? And he said, only yogurt, tea and coffe :help: :help: :help: I mean nothing else to eat? and what about if I was to faint? I mean going from 7000 calories a day to almost non, sound unreasonable for me....any thoughts??

Hi group, Since I got my band a month ago, I lost no weight WHATSOEVER. actually I gained some I lost a total of 7 pounds, all of which on the pre-op diet. NON after the band. I eat a lot now, 2 days ago, I ate 2 phily cheese and steak subs for lunch. I eat big dinner portions (almost like before getting banded), I drink while eating, I eat rice, bread, Pasta and all these hard to eat foods with NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER and still I get hungry all the times and keep munching all night long... Is it becasue I haven't got the fill yet? But I mean were all of you like this before getting the fills? it feels a little abnormal to me, that my family started making fun of my lousy band. is this normal or not:help: :help: Thanks a lot

Since I got my last fill, I feel that I'm nicely restricted. However, whenever I eat anything I start having a series of continues little burps, that goes on for 10-15 minutes after anything I eat I don't think I'm tight, as a matter of fact I can eat almost everything except soft breads. Yet, I don't understand why do I get these little soft burps. Could you help me please and tell me what is that? Although I don't eat fast at all, as one might think this is the reason..

Hehehe, that was very funny. See the weird thing in my case, even when I don't eat a lot (Maybe few bites) and I start burping a lot, I just wonder where the heck did all that air came from. But I'm glad you all think its a good thing for the bandsters:clap2: PeloRojo: I don't think there is any relation between burping and BPing, cause I always burp but never BP'ed even if I ate a lot. The worst thing I would have is I would feel much pain in my chest (pouch)

Does Anyone Follow the Weight Watcher's Program After Banding?
Magic replied to Jill Klein- Auerbach's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have to disagree with you guys.. You got the band, so can eat whatever you want in small quantites, and be satisfied, not to follow WW or other diets. Getting the band is a total change in your eatings habits, so if you kept doing the WW you will never change the your REAL habits. I eat everything I used to like. chocolate, KFC, some fatty foods, and still loosing weight BIG TIME. Its all beacuse the band helped me to do the quantinty control unlike before getting it. -
Dating: People now interested after your weight loss that knew you before
Magic replied to TexasRose's topic in Singles Forum
Its nice to have people interested in you, but I would hate it if it came from people used to be only frirnds, and now all the sudden they want more. Those people are only interested in the SEX my dear. I'm a man and take it from me. No old friend would suddenly show an interest except if he wanted something out of you. Why never he showed this interest before? Read what Elisabethsew said, I think those people are mean and if I saw your friend Elisabethsew I would punch him in the face, the thinner you get the more he likes you, and the fatter you get the more he distant himself, what a loser -
Its the only way I know how to sleep.. However, after the band I stayed 4 months not being able to sleep on my stomch. I wouldn't call what i had pain, it was rather discomfort. Now I'm doing great again, and sleeping on my stomach again:) Again if no pain there is no problem, but be vrey attentive not to only pain, also any discomfort might mean you shouldn't sleep that way, for now

2 scrambled eggs + half a cup sweet corn

I drove 2 days after operation, where I think I shouldn't. Every bump on the road hurt my incisions. I guess it all depends on how you feel
-
Hehehehehehe, very funny comparison:D
-
My first fill was 4 months later... It all depends on how much weight you are losing. If you are losing weight, then no need for a fill, if not, then you should get one..

well, I like the morning tightness, cuase in all honesty hot Water (tea, coffee, soup) loosen my band a lot. So I only do it if I want to trick the band, and eat a lot
-
Jachut I agree 100% with what you said. I do the same, eat more than others might, and still lose weight.

If I'm hungry, I would snack on a cup of skimmed milk with one granola bar. Its very healthy, and would stop my hunger for at least 2 to 3 hours. But if you don't want to consume calories (casue dinner will be served soon) then a large glass of water would do the trick and calm your hunger. You don't have to be starving with the band...

Could you have succeeded without the band?
Magic replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I answered before without reading your question, but here is what you can tell yourself and tell your family about the band. Just yesterday, after I ate my good healthy dinner, I got hungry at night, so instead of snacking like a bandster, I snacked like the old (me) I found a bag of Ymmmy nachos in front of me, so I started pigging out like I used to do before. seconds later (while I was eating) I couldn't breath anymore, and the nachos got stuck. So i had to STOP, if it wasn't for the band, then I would've ate the whole bag, then probably 2 sandwitches, a bottle of coke and so on. that used to be me, so think twice about how much this band could be helpful... If it was so easy to diet and excersice then you would not have seen any fat preson... -

a big NO I always had the Yo-Yo thing, lose 10 gain 20, then lose 20 and gain 30. Thanks god, I got this little friend to help me -
Take it easy girl, I just finished college 2 years ago and I know the craziness of girls. I'm sure he did not ask you to get married, neither anybody around you asked you to get married soon. Take it easy, if you like spenidng time with him/and he likes to do the same, then be with him. Being with a guy doesn't mean to get married, but at least some commitment and not acting weird. About not wanting long term relation, this is craziness, do you think whenever 2 people start dating, they put a time line for how long the relation should be???? Go out with him, if you like it then continue, if you you don't then break up.. its that simple At the end its not rocket science, he is just a guy who likes you:D so don't complicate simple things my dear.. All the best

Hehehehehehhee, You really gave a good laugh with your smart poll. My port is on the left side, but I voted (in the back), casue it was tooo funny to resisit, (heck if I know) was even funnier

Cassandra, Trust me its a breeze, you'll take a short nap in the operation room, and then you will wake up to find yourself new person, a person who is going to lose all the weight, start a new life, become healthy, attractive, slim and SEXY... Nothing to worry about, as a matter of fact I was soo happy as my operation time became closer, I was ready for the new (ME) to be born. Best of luck, and again, Nothing to worry about:cool:

Hello, I know this subject might have been discussed a lot, but I couldn't find info for my particular question.. Since I got my band, I've been eating (freestyle) meaning I don't measure food, just eat until I feel I had enough then I stop.. But since I got my last fill and I feel that I'm perfectly restricted, I would like some hints about the portion size.. I know that we should get Protein first, then veggies. my questions are: How much protein is ideal per meal? and how many meals contain protein per day? How much veggies? what about carbs? are they important, or they can be omitted? I know the serving size is half a cup, but half a cup of all foods combined, or half a cup of each kind of food? By the way, do you eat out of cup (instead of a plate) to know the portion, or you just measure it, and then eat from a plate? Thanks a lot in advance:)

Doctor told me to be that I should be my own advisor, start with liquids, if you feel you can handle soilds then go for it, otherwise stick to Soups and so forth. As he said people are different, and the swelling they get is different. Even me, sometimes I get a swelling after a fill (a strong fill) and sometimes I don't (soft fill) My suggestion: is to take it slow and start with liquids for few days, as you need to re-discover your new restriction level, and see how much you can handle... Take it slow
