    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I haven't lost much since August either. But I'm starting to learn to eat more rather than less. When I eat less I pick all day and journaling my food intake again has made me realize that I am eating far too many carbs...I have this need for potato chips:nono:...funny I never liked them prior to the band. So I've asked my husband not to buy them because before you know it the whole bag is gone by the end of the week. I happened to bump into someone at the hospital the other day I hadn't seen in a long time and it was nice to hear how weight I had lost...you get so used to where you are at and forget that I was at a size 22 and now am a size 14 petite...(sounds like an oxymoron....a bit to have petite and size 14 together):smile2: anyway....trying to give myself credit for what I've accomplished and not what I haven't accomplished. I feel good about going back to the surgeon, who by the way I bumped into the other day also and noticed he is getting a little pudgey...hummmm maybe he'll certainly undertand :w00t: I am back to the site more frequently realizing that you all give me inspiration. Especially you potatie...you are an amazing woman. I went to the gym the other day and did a step class...completely out of sync..then went to the mat and just stretched...felt very good so I'm putting it back in my life. Hard to start thinking about yourself when you've had years of taking care of everyone else. That is a woman thing....at 59 years old you think I would have realized that by now. Love the "midlife" band thing....absolutely right. I'll have to share that with the surgeon I'm sure he'll love it. sharon:)

    Phentermine

I can't believe any of you are thinking about taking pills to lose weight. Hey backup here...remember you had major surgery to help you change your way of eating, lifestyle changes.....maybe going back to your surgeron is the key and not drugs....all of what you are talking about are harmful with phen....causing pulmonary hypertension....please re think this...you go online and trust that someone is actually sending you something safe???? I'm in the healthcare field and I can say to each one of you trust nothing.....good luck...

  6. :drool:Hi Amy, I would highly recommend the connecticut surgical group. i have done quite well with the program although it is a slow process and not a magic bullet. I still struggle with eating slowly and making the right choices but I started at 245 and I am now 178. So that's not bad from 3/12/08. I don't carehow long it takes as long as I lose....

I have 30 lbs more to lose and I didn't realize that you could get the surgery done before you lost all of the weight!! I've lost 70 lbs.... did insurance pay for this??? I know the breast thing is really bothering me..still a triple DDD and not comfortable when no real strong bra....please advise???? Been busy dealing with my elderly mom in Florida...such a nightmare to convince her to come close to her kids...argggg
  12. I agree with Kat that is not the norm at all. There must be a serious problem not identified prior to surgery or poor placement. Good luck to you and don't give up a good GI surgeon should be able to find a solution for you. sharon:)

Thanks Scrappy.... Sugarbean you will never be able to change ignorant people, you know why you had the surgery as we all did. It was a healthy choice as is the decision to get a tummy tuck..which isn't a vanity thing...we all know that. She's just jealous of your decision and doesn't know how to handle it. I have had people tell me this was the "easy" way out....God I don't know what is easy about it!!! We're so proud of you as you have accomplished a huge feat in the last year that I know I am very envious of.... just take a a deep breath and move forward. The other day one of my nursing students had a patient who happened to be an instructor from a year school and insulted her by saying that there is no first year student from a community college who should be taking care of patients. So uncalled for....He knew nothing about our program, which is the largest in the state and has the highest pass rate on the NCLEX exam. I started in a community college and now have a graduate degree....its a more cost effective route while getting an excellent education. People just seem to be stressed out today and say things they shouldn't...... My hats off to you in admiration...... sharon:)
