:smile2: Hi Trish I was banded about the same time (3/12) and weighed about the same (244) I too have had some long days without losing a thing and am at a plateau. I went to buy an outfit for a formal gala on Saturday and couldn't believe nothing fit because it was too BIG!!! I've gone from a 18W down to a 14W and its loose....so hang in there I hear ya...I exercise regularly and eat about 1000-1200 calories a day....I'm still better off than I was this time last year. I have 6.5 cc in my 10 cc band also....not sure if I'm at my sweet spot yet.....

Congratulations Lynn, do you have a 10 cc band? I have a 10 cc and am also at 6.5cc and am good there. I didn't get another fill last week when I went for my appointment. Still slow losing but at least its losing. Love your ticker, the closest I could get to Halloween was pumpkin pie, which by the way I don't even like  sharon;)

Hi Jennifer I was banded in March and now down to 199 started at 244. It is a slow loss but I'm happy with that. I have never gained, only lost. Some weeks stayed the same but then would lose 2 lbs. Stay with it, there is no magic. Make sure you ar adequately filled. I went for a fill 6 weeks out that was 2.5 cc then was advise to come back every week or two until I felt good restriction. It took 5 fills, I have 6.5 cc in a 10 cc band. As long as I lose I'm happy. I can't eat bread, or rice and have to eat veryyyyyyyyy slowlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy a tough lesson to learn.... good luck sharon:)

thank you all for your support, I felt much better today and decided to stay off the scales for two weeks. I have a fill scheduled for the 9th and I went back to more Protein and fluids today and felt much better. I also started back on documentng what I eat which is very helpful. I think I was slidng into a carb world again which wasn making me feel more hungry and not feeling well. Today I went to the gym and felt so much better after the treadmill. Love this site for the support we get....this transition is hard. This time last year though I weight 40 lbs more than I do now and was just starting the journey towards the lapband....so I am moving on!!!:smile2: sharon

:confused:having a hard time this week, I can eat so much more than I want yet some days food gets stuck other days not....I'm making poor choices (mcdonalds fish sandwich!!! for God's sake...) anyway hoping to get on track again and am going to move my appt up from 9/9 to earlier. A slight fill may help.. :tt2: Im very disappointed in myself):cool2::drool::thumbup:

welcome back Fenton, it sounds like your time away was a needed gathering of thoughts and organizing some feelings. That's never a waste of time. What we did find out is that we all need each other in some quirky way. The nice thing about life is that there is always tomorrow. Glas to see your back and glad you have a fill.

WhatI'm finding lateuly that I am tighter sometimes than others...Does anyone else have this? I haven't lost any hair yet. I make sure I get 84 gms Protein a day which I think helps. I also love baby food (stage 3  and get their meats to eat which helps with Iron intake. I make sure I take my Vitamins daily and the Calcium. I haven't thought to get my iron checked but it might be a good idea. do find I have periods of exhaustion that are unexplinable. Except for being 58 years old....hahahahaha sharon:)

Well it was very hot humid and sticky today in Connecticut....I think I'm looking forward to winter (I know i'll be sorry I said that). Grandbaby gained one lb in a week....so cute....and so soft. Today was our 39th wedding anniversary...can't believe its been that long. I have found that I'm getting hungry again yet I can't really eat a lot. I'm working out and yet my weight is also at a plateau. My next visit is in October but I'm not sure if I'll get a fill. I think we've all done spectacular as we have reached our 6 month mark. I don't care how long it takes as long as I lose it. Miss Fenton....I guess we lost him for good. I wish him well... thanks for all the good wishes on our new grandbaby... sharon:)

Congratulations special K..a load off of your mind I'm sure. Test taking is such a strain for everyone. I've had students who have physically gotten ill when needing to be validated!!! Harley love the tatoo!!! My daughter has quite a few (much to her father's dismay) but I always applauded her tasteful choices along with her "balls" to get them....I know if I was younger I'd have a few .... sharon:)

Why we want Fenton back: 1. We need some testosterone to help offset all the estrogen from us lady bandsters! 2. We want to hear about life in the big city --NYC! 3. We want to be able to celebrate with him when he changes his ticker to say -100 lbs lost! 4. We want to know how his new book writing is coming along. 5. We want to hear about Paris so we can live vicariously through his adventures and gourmet meals. 6. We want to hear about your first fill

I too have had a history or over doing it and be:sad:ing involved with too much. I made a decision after getting the band to remove myself from all boards and committees and declared my life "all about me"...although our new grandson born 8/31 is changing that a bit. Don't feel guilty just cut yourself down to the minimum of what is important to YOU....things happen for a reason I truly believe it....

As a nurse I did a lot of research before I decided to choose a doctor. Asking questions like how many bariatric surgeries they've done, what kind of complications did they have, how many people ended up not being successful, did any patients end up with further hospitalizations and if so why, did anyone need to stop eating completely and go on intravenous nutrition to complications. My physician was able to answer all those questions. I also worked in the community with patients and found that I was constantly taking care of "botched" surgeries from a physician from the "other" hospital and no one ever came our way from Hartford Hospital. I was working with the visiting nurses group associated with the hospital so I would be getting those clients. Go to the support group meetings, they are key in making a decision. These are people who have already had surgeries and are very willing to share. Last but not least, google your physician and look on the public health department webpage from the state he is licensed. This will tell you if there were any disciplinary actions, what they were and if he had ever been sued. Hope this helps Sharon:) RN/MSN:clap2:

I'm afraid ladies that even a good underwire won't be supporting the girls when we're done losing weight!!! Enjoy the beach. I too have Fenton's book to read....still haven't finished my other book yet....

Special K I'm sorry for your loss. As long as I have been a nurse I can say death is never an easy emotion to process. Especially working in the ED for years in a trauma center. Your move on but never forget....it is tiring at times. I am so glad you and your mom were able to be there. Fenton, what the hell is the matter with you!!! I think you need a fill before you go to Paris. I doubt that you will have issues....call the damn doctor and get yourself in there sooner....You are just procrastinating. We can all get into a plane and fly there to hold your hand or drive you to your appointment if you need us to....You know you can do this.....the band is there for a reason...and that is to get filled!!!!! I think were all doing great. I'm at 6.5 cc in my 10 cc band...and I am so happy not to be hungry. I'm down 40 lbs now and am enjoying the luxury of being able to say no. I went into a buffet with mom in Florida and never even thought to go to the dessert bar. Classes start soon with my new nurses coming in and another year begins..... I am also having issues with clothing and...sorry Fenton...bras, bras, bras....the girls are shrinking and the bras are too big. That's something you really can't just let "hang" on you like a top or pants.... Lots of good sales these days though and I am taking advantage. Brought a bunch of old clothes to the shelter and it was great to pack them away.... Welcom Betty to our very active and sometimes whiney group....we are all with our own challenges...... I am going to the Antiques Roadshow that has come to Connecticut tomorrow. Actually I am the medical personnel for the event and get the luxury of going to the event free. I kinda pick and choose the events I am interested in. Enjoy what is supposed to be a great weekend... sharon:)

Okay, well first of all I'm trying to muster up some sympathy that poor Fenton is going to be in Paris and your challenge is a routine!!! Ok all together now "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". I think your smart not to get a fill before going out of the country. Although I think the french invented the band didn't they?? Special K good luck with your exam. You'll do just fine I'm sure, especially since you've been doing the job. I remember when I had to take the nursing boards I was so nervous...sometimes studying at the last minute is a good thing as you retain more I think. Just got back from Florida checking on my mother. Tough to keep the surgery from her. She is in the "lets go to the buffet" stage of life. What a waste of money for me!! She was just so impressed with our little I was eating. But the secret remains!!! Have a good day everyone. Rain, rain rain today.....

adenosine cardiolite test?
sharona replied to OneHotGrammy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Charlene, I'm an old ER nurse and they use adenosine to chemically cardiovert people when they go into atrial fibrillation. I was supposed to have the same test because my knees are bad but when I heard they were giving this drug (a low dose) I asked if I could do the treadmill...and I did. So its up to you.... sharon;) -
For goodness sake Fenton GET A FILL!!!! you'll feel so much better. I can't believe you've gone this far and haven't had one. WHY WHY WHY...we ask....look if your afraid of the doctor we girls can come up there or down there depending on where you live, and we'll fill it for you!!! GET going......

congratulations special K on arriving at a new threshold.... congratulations on passing your kidney stone...I know you probably thought it was a boulder but as you know its only the size of a grain of sand most of the time.....now drink drink drink (Water that is) I have been doing "ok" at a standstill although have been eating the right things. Debating on whether I get more of a fill this week. I have good restriction but do have times I can take in more than I think I should. Don't know if its because I've waited too long to eat or I'm just really hungry..... up to 35lbs now....so I'm happy...slow and steady.... enjoy the weekend guys (or whats left of it) sharon:)

congratulations Amanda!!! did you think this time last year you would be doing this!! Absolutely not....great job....
