What did your breast's do?
sbrainwater replied to meyouus's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My friend that lost about 80 lbs swears by push-ups for perkiness. I have lost 83 lbs and gone from a DDD to a DD. I am about to start focusing on weight training and push-ups will def be in my regimen. Mine aren't that perky but they don't look horrible. They're big and have been big for a long time. I'm gonna try the pectorals exercises and go from there. Good luck! -
YAY!

I am also December 8th, 2015! Congrats and good luck!!!29 days to go!! 12/08/2015, here we come. Are you feeling ready @@lesley_vsg and @@tera1982 ?I am nervous(I've had surgery before, but anesthesia is always worrisome; I am only mildly worried about pain; concerned about my diabetes and how it's going to react to my new sleeve(I am a type-1 diabetic on an insulin pump); and also about hair loss as I already have fine, thinning hair although I hear as long as I get all of my Protein and fluids, it SHOULD be minimal-per my NUT). Other than that, lol, I am super excited and ready for the next stage of my life, hopefully a healthier, thinner stage!I'm worried about hair loss too, as I already have thin hair. I have started Biotin supplements already, since I heard they work best before the hair starts thinning. Hopefully it makes a difference. Plus all protein and fluids like you said! I did read about some shampoo that really helps with hair loss. I don't remember what it is but I will start hunting on this site. Btw I am looking on Groupn daily for hair extensions just in case it starts to get embarrassing. I know I'm vain but I just want to be really prepared!

Zero patience and an abundance of excitement
sbrainwater replied to sassyfrass23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way!!!! I'm geeking out every day. I cannot stay off this website or my secret Bariatric Facebook page whenever I'm home. I'm poor and don't have insurance slim going to Mexico December 28h for my sleeve on the 29th. It's the best Christmas present and the best way to start a new year. I'm so happy, excited, terrified, anxious, worried it won't work on me. Message me anytime if you want to geek out together. -
HELP! (No, it's not really THAT dramatic????)

What's wrong with me?

I think it has something to do with the heat. That's why there advisory signs about having your doc's advice before using a sauna/steam room. It wouldn't hurt to buy a shower chair to sit down jic! -

Thank you! When I diet, I weigh myself everyday. I don't know if I wil be able to break the habit. I will take weekly measurements as well to combat the scale if I'm stalling. Stalling seems to the biggest problem on this site that I'm worried about. So I will track my food/Protein to stay on track and just be prepared for it. I know making sure you're getting enough GOOD foods, staying away from carbs, and switching up exercise routines will help. As for working out, I am a server at a very busy restaurant. I work 7-9 hours shifts. I have tracked my steps on my shifts and I usually walk around 5-6 miles a shift. Do you think that's enough exercise or should I start going to the gym again? Good luck on those last six pounds! I bet exercising would take care of it pretty quickly since you haven't been working out a lot. Can't wait to hear about the day you hit goal! -

Sorry I thought I was responding to someone else! By the way, your stats are amazing! I'm going to start looking through your activity. Any advice for a newbie that has surgery in December? Maybe one or two things that really helped you or any surprises that I should be warned about? -

I make jellied puddings out of Protein shakes. That is a brilliant idea!! I love this site! Do you adjust the recipe in anyway or just add the Protein powder? -
My thoughts of surgery are all consuming. I seriously don't go an hour with out thinking of it, talking about it, or googling it. I have looked at hundreds of before and after... Looked plastics and a hundred little things that pop up in my head. I tell myself to chill out but knowing I have 40 days until surgery scares me to no end. I want to know it all! Lol I'm a bit of a control freak and it's really showing. Let's message each constantly! Srsly. My surgery is 50 days away and we give each other tips, ask questions, and be control freaks together!

You don't eat sugar free jello??!! Girly you are missing out! I top mine with no carb whipped cream from a can and it really does taste decadent. I've read of people making SF jello with diet soda but I don't know if that would hurt your tummy. Regardless you should try some sugar free strawberry jello with whipped cream for a dessert fix. YUM! Good luck! -

I keep seeing advertisement for those Dole? frozen chocolate covered strawberry and banana bites that look amazing! Cupcakes would be a slippery slope for me. Sugar free candy is good but if you eat more than a few, you might have a fecal incident.... It's horrible lol Good luck! -
What is your most embarrassing NSV?
sbrainwater replied to Sleeved Nurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Isn't it far more embarrassing to wipe without ease? You and @@sbrainwater missed a priceless NSV topic. I think the originator, @@dhrguru, was more embarrassed discussing it than experiencing it. (I'm putting her name in blue so that she's notified that she's being held up as a shining beacon.) I won't reveal anything so that, if you check it out, you'll get the full impact. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/353620-the-view-from-down-there-a-ladies-room-post/ When I think of one that I can categorize as embarrassing, I'll be back. Welcome to you both. Thank you! That was awesome -
Thank you! I will probably a bite of cranberry jelly with some turkey broth. I do love me so cranberry jelly from a can. Lol. Now that it's so close to surgery, I cannot wait. It's all I think about! Just ready for it to be here. What are your stats 2 years out? Any wise words?
-
I paid my deposit, bought the plane tickets, have the cash saved for the surgery, and I'm all set. Except I am bouncing back and forth between excitement and terror. I've been researching this for a year. I feel comfortable with the surgeon I picked. I am going to Mexcio for monetary reasons, lack of insurance, and the really good reviews! I've struggled with my weight for almost 20 years!!!! I want, more than anything, for my life to not be consumed by food. I want to eat a few bites of protein and veggies, be full, and go about my life. I also want to talk about this 24/7. I know I'm obsessed, but the more I read, the better I feel. Hearing other people's stories give me insight on what to do, and what not do. Before and after pics are so inspirational. But if anyone wants to talk about their upcoming surgery, a lot ????, please message me!

What is your most embarrassing NSV?
sbrainwater replied to Sleeved Nurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol awesome! I can't wait to find out what mine are. -
What if you buy a yeti cup for your soup? It's supposed to hold temperature for hours! 6-8 hours I think. It's on my list to buy before surgery.
-
Holy goodness you've lost almost 80 lbs in 4 months?! That's fantastic! Thanks for the good wishes!
-
Wow you've lost so much! Congrats! I cannot wait to see a 1 on the scale, instead of a 2. I picked the date because it's easy for me to get off work (the other time would be summer) and I decided I wanted to start 2016 in the most amazing way possible. According to my doc, pre-op info, and my BMI, I get to enjoy thanksgiving dinner. Christmas and news years are definitely out, of course, but I could not care less. I may feel cranky on Cristmas day with clear liquids but it's such a small price to pay. I am already making healthier choices. I'm down to one soda a day which was my vice after I quit smoking. I'm making healthier choices for meals and eating less. It wasn't intentional but I just started making different choices. I'm so happy I decided to do this. I cannot wait to be consumed by living instead of thoughts of food and dieting. Thanks for writing back!

I am practicing eating slower right now! I have a job that requires me to eat me very quickly, or not at all, so of course I eat like an inmate! How is the no liquid with meals, and the 30 mins before, and after? I drink so much water all the time I'm afraid I'm going to have cotton mouth all the time.

That's a great idea!!

Thank you! How are you feeling?
