I just found this site while looking for bariatric support. I am scheduled for surgery on 08-10 and have just started the pre-op liquid diet. I was looking for answers to questions I forgot to ask my surgeon and found this site. Am so thankful you all are here and are willing to share. Am looking forward to this journey and meeting new friends along the way.
 
I quit smoking 4 years ago and have put on almost 100 pounds since. I was already heavy to begin with and now am just out of control. Started with  a personal trainer last March and have been pretty faithful about exercising, but used that as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted in whatever quantity.. and boy, was I wrong. So now going through menopause too and just cannot seem to loose. I have tried every diet and fad know to man and can loose 20 pounds, but as soon as I go off that particular diet, gain it back plus more.
 
I am excited and scared. I am more scared of gaining the weight back after I lose it than I am of the surgery. But reading the posts and stories on here has given me hope that I can do this and can maintain!
