I started my journey to changing my lifestyle in May 2015 with signing up for WLS. I have been going every month to see my NUT and my insurance demands 6 months. I will be cleared for surgery in November but that's right in the middle of Midterms and I work full time so I decided to sign up for self pay in Mexico. After a lot of research I chose Dr Ariel Ortiz at Obesity Control Center because of his experience and his certification and his internship in Los Angeles. He is not the the lowest priced by any means but it still significantly less than self pay in the U.S. and less than my share after insurance if I waited until November. I am cleared for the Gastric sleeve. I am excited and nervous as I'm sure that is normal. Being over weight since my adolescence and struggling for so long from yo yoing, I am finally at my true bottom of being over weight, I hit bottom when I could not hike anymore without dying from my feet hurting and every joint and muscle hurting everyday and the chronic fatigue and lack of any motivation. I am scheduled for August and just started my liquid pre-op today. My friend that had the Bypass introduced me to this site and I am so grateful, she has inspired me to take back my life!
