I just got home from having my psych eval. She told me that everything seemed fine. I still have to go for my final appointment of my six months of medically supervised on Friday which is when everything will be submitted to the insurance company. But after my eval she was explaining the pre and post op procedure as far as appointments and diet. I ask her if she thought the insurance company would approve me and she said based on my chart and the fact that I have stuck with the six months. she things I will get approved. I can't wait until Friday when everything gets submitted. I think I will call the insurance company on Monday to "check the status" of everything. So my question is how long did it take you to get approved after submitting everything to your insurance company?

fell off the wagon (kinda)... need help
that.gurl03 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or could offer advice. I was banded like 1.5 years ago. anyway at first I was doing ok, had my first fill and thinks were moving along... well then I had a series of things happen in my life that caused me to get severely depressed. I mean not your average depressed this was like nothing I've ever experienced before and hope to never go through again. I was have panic attacks and then I couldn't get out of bed for months. I would just lie there and cry then when I was all cried out I would just lay there and stare off into space. I went to the doc they gave me medicine, and I was able to make myself get out of bed. I would get up get dressed and sit on the couch completely numb until it was time for me to go to bed. It was a really dark time... but anyway during that time I gained back all of the weight I'd lost. Then after I was able to start getting past it and go back to work. I was still pretty blah and I really fell off the whole healthy eat right LAP-BAND® band wagon. So now that I'm over it and I feel like myself again, I've been trying to loose weight, but I don't know what to do. I mean the whole reason I had the surgery was b/c I couldn't loose weight and now I feel like I screwed myself by getting all depressed. I want to go to my doc to see if I could get back on a diet and get fills and stuff again. But to be honest I'm embarrassed. I weigh more now then I did pre-surgey. Not by much, but still more. I don't know what to do. If anyone has had a similar situation or has gained weight and then went back to the program I would love to hear your thoughts. Any advice, words of wisdom, or encouragement is much appreciated. -

I am soooo excited I just got the letter from my insurance company this week approving my surgery. The surgeons office called today and I am scheduled for 3/25. I am so happy to have a dayne and only 18 days to go. Yipee!!:biggrin2:

I am a little less than one month out from surgery and last weekend I went out clubbin and did shots(tequila & washington apple) I can't remember how may I had but it was several. I didn't have any problems. The weekend before that I was at a party and had a few mixed drinks (crandberry and vodka) without any trouble. I wasn't thinking and grabbed a beer and that didn't go so well... I just felt like I had to burp but could for a bout 15 minutes (pretty uncomfortable) but then I let out a wicked burp and felt better. Needless to say I will be much more careful to avoid beer. Now what I will say is be cause of the high calories in alcohol if I go out drinking then the next day I run an extra mile and try to tack on an extra 25-30 minutes to my exercise routine. It kicks my ass but I reason it out in my mind that if I want to party I am going to have to pay for it.

To lose 17 lbs per mont for the nex months until I go on vacation to Miami... I really wanna look super hot since I am going with my super skinny friends ( not that I don't love them dearly). But I mean I can't even think of the last time I wore a cute bathing suit. Anyway I was just wonder about how much you guys have experienced loosing per month and if you kept it? I plan to start going back to the gym next week and am willing to work my little (actually rather larger right now but soon to be little) hiney off.
-
Melissa, Thanks for your encouragement. As for my friends I have the best and most supporative friends in the world so they would care if i wore a burlap sac... well maybe they would since I would look really weird. :scared2: . They all think it is too aggressive a goal and don't want me to over do it. Alas I am extremely hard headed at times so I am still clinging to it. But I am keeping in the back of my mind that I won't be too disapointed if I don't make.

Chocolate Snaps thanks for your response... Since my 17 lbs a month doesn't sound likes gonna happen; I am going to try for at lease 10 a month and since my vacation is about 4 mos away that would put me in the 230's. The extra 7 lbs a month would out me close to 200... but o well as long as I am loosing I will be happy.

Elaine you soo read my mind with starting this thread I am still a bit of a partier so I was wondering how I would do with drinking after I get banded. I' sure I will have to slow down/ cut back alot.

What exercises do you do? I am just curious because I have been going to the gym and I mostly do eliptical and then at home I stretch and do sit ups. But I'm just curious as to what workout plan you guys do.

Finally Got Insurance Approval

I do have a myspace but I hardly ever go on there.....I can't even think of what my name is on there off the top of my head. It may be that.gurl or that.gurl03 -- I will have to try to figure it out. (LOL! only I would forget my own screen name) Anyway Apple how have you been doing since your surgery? -
I haven't had surgery yet (scheduled for 3/25) but I just start a plastic surgey fund this week. So when I have lost the weight I can get anything thats needs to be tightened, lifted, sculpted, or removed taken care of. And I'm sure that will be pre-kids.

Anyone getting banded March 25th?
that.gurl03 replied to Khrystah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am schedduled for March 25 and I am soooo excited!!!! Only 18 days to go!! -
Hmmmm... I was also wondering about traveling after surgery. I am still waiting for insurace approval, but expect to hear from them shortly... But at the end of April I may have to travel for my job to India (I have no clue how long the plane ride is, but I expect it to be very long) I was wondering how that would work not only with the pain, but with limited diet. Of course from some of my co-works who went last year I have heard that the food wasn't that great so I guess atleast I wont have that as a temptation... but still that is a really looong way from home and if I end up having to go it will be for 3 to 4 weeks... should be interesting.

Who determines if you have to go on a pre-surgery supervised weight loss program?
that.gurl03 replied to JustinsMama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
From what my doc said it's typically the insurance co. (Mine did) but.. at my doc's office the have people go through a 4-5 week "pre-op nutrition" program. Which the person in charge of that said I may be able to have waived since I went through 6 mos that my insurance required. So I guess my answer is it just depends on what your doc & insurace decide. -
WOW!!! 26 lbs. That's great!
-
How did surgery go Apple?
-
But what would make me happiest is if I hear back from my insurance company and get my surgery scheduled before the end of the month.
-
Well... mine is to loose 13 lbs by the end of the month.... I really don't have a reason other than it will make a total of 15lbs. lost in Feb

I feel your pain with being single and having a huge sex drive...
-
What is a body bugg?
-
I am still pre-band... And my sex drive has went down a little, but not a lot (and its still really high like 2 or 3 days without it and I feel like I am going to die) so I'm thinking that if it gets better after the band I'll be a nympho LOL
