    December 8th Sleevers......

Best wishes to all of you
  4. @@ssflbelle, Destiny is absolutely right, this process is quite the roller coaster ride. Complete with nausea and stress. Hang in there, I'll keep you in good thoughts that everything all comes together & you'll be approved very soon.
  5. Surgery is this coming Thursday, 12/10, thank you all.
  6. I am right there with you. I'm scheduled for this Thursday, 12/10. I can't even get excited or nervous about it because I still don't have insurance approval. Insurance has everything they need but I don't have an answer. Here's hoping that tomorrow brings good news to all of us still waiting for approval. ????????

    Protein Drink

At a recent support group meeting a post-op member mentioned she mixes a scoop of protein powder with an egg and makes small pancakes with the mixture. Your cinnamon bun flavored protein may be good as a pancake when you get to the post op stage.
  8. Actually it is possible for a woman who is in menopause or post menopause to not lose any or much at all during a 2 week liquid pre op diet.

    Any December Sleever's?

Surgery date set for me is December 10th. Still waiting to get approval from insurance. It's been a long 6 month journey.
  10. I'm in the same exact spot as you were Bailey, waiting on approval from insurance company & tentative surgery date is the 10th also. Hoping I get an answer tomorrow.

    Protein Powder

I pretty much drink nothing but Syntrax Fuzzy Navel Nectar. 21 grams of protein per full scoop.

    Surgical gas question

⬆️This is what I love to hear. I'm hoping I don't have too much or even better no gas pain. Had a hysterectomy 5 years ago and had none at all.

    Can't drink protein

Congrats on your surgery, so exciting. Mine did get denied as my insurance had filed bankruptcy???? My Dr will submit to my new carrier on 12/1. As another member mentioned try the Syntrax protein mix's, they mix very well with water & are lite. My favorite is the fuzzy navel flavor, got it at Vitamin Shoppe. Best of everything to you.

    Why Oh Why?

Sorry for your disappointment. Those Triglycerides are very high, are you taking any meds to help lower them? They should fall between 0 - 149. Mine were 289 a few months ago.
  16. Do you have ShopRite grocery stores on LI? Im in NY about 3 hours away from LI. Some of our Shop Rites (the larger stores) have dietitians/nutritionists on site. I had one of my NUT visits at a local ShopRite. No co-pay the service is free & they emailed my visit info to my Dr's office.

    I found my protein!

Through trying different samples my NUT gave to me I have found that I like the following, Celebrate Calcium Plus 500 chewable, taste like a sweet tart candy. Celebrate B-12 sublingual Mint flavor. Bariatric fusion Chewable Multi Vit in mixed berry flavor. Bariatric Fusion Multi Vit Soft Chews, texture is like a star burst candy.

    WHAT COMPANY ARE YOU USING?

If you want something lighter than the shakes try Syntrax Fuzzy Navel. To me it reminds me of an Orange Julius. It mixes well in water and no clumps.

    Dying!

Stick with it and in a few days you'll be past the headaches & major hunger. About day 5 you'll be all good.
  20. 2 more sleeps, so exciting!! Best wishes for a fast recovery.
  21. If you are just a few pounds away from the goal weight, ask the Dr or nurse if you can undress & wear an exam gown to be weighed.

    How it Went...

I found adult strength Equate brand liquid Acetaminophen at Wal Mart

    Pre op diet

I'm sort of struggling with this pre-op diet also. What's even worse for me is that I'll most likely have to do it twice because we are expecting my insurance company to deny me. They have filed bankruptcy. I have another insurance carrier lined up for 12/1 and a back up surgery date for December. The only thing saving me with this diet is that I'm allowed plain Greek low carb yogurt & cheese sticks for snacks.

    WHEY protein shake?

I really like Syntrax Fuzzy Navel, I'm shocked that this mixture blends thoroughly in water with just a spoon & has no clumps. Its sort of like Tang orange drink. I like it in the morning. Unjury chocolate mix is delicious blended with unsweetened almond milk.
