I was just banded thurs, the 21st of aug. Ironically, that whole morning I kept thinking, something is going to go wrong,and they would delay the surgery, but luckily it didn't. Keep the faith because I am now 4 days post op and I am so happy

Hello all. I am scheduled for this thursday, aug 21. I was scheduled for March, but my creep of an X husband dropped my insurance without telling me. My new hubby is fantastic and I feel so blessed now. Anyway, I was told I would have to wait for the main Dr in this practice , Kowalski, but if I wanted to speed it up, I could use Dr. Patel. I met him and he was nice, but so darn young. I asked him his age, He said 34, I asked how many bands has he done, he said about 100. I am going for it anyway! I want it done. Please everyone, wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts on thursday! Thanks! xo:rolleyes:

Hello ! I have not had a fill yet, because I just got the band put in on Aug 21st. But I don't think it is a frequent as it sounds. They just have to hit the amount right. I think it will all be worth it in the end. Debbie

my Doctor wanted to do the bypass also , but I refused. I have done alot of research and the lapband seemed to be the right one for me. We won;'t lose as fast but I didn't gain all this weight over nite either. All my friends who had the bypass lost and then gained alot back, my friends with the lapband lost slowly and steadily, but seem to keep it off. Tell your doctor you are determined. I had my lapband put in on thursday the 21st of august! I feel great except for the gas pains in the left shoulder. Everyone should be prepared for that. The no one in the medical field warned me about the gas pains, but plenty of people in here talked about them. Other than that, I feel good. I sometimes think of food, then I quickly think of how I am going to buy "regular" clothes in a regular store. I have never done that in my life, even as a child I wore "chubby" sizes. I am glad I had this surgery done and I am looking forward to a better future! Debbie:lol:

:lol:I can't believe I said I was getting banded today, I mean tomorrow, thursday. I guess I am so nervous I am losing track of time! thanks for all your well wishes! This is quite a journey, but I can't wait till I reach the destination!

Hello Everyone I started reading all of these stories, but there are so many here and it is going to take me all nite. But I decided to write now. I am having my banding tomorrow, aug 21. I am nervous but excited at the same time. I have been on slimfast and clear liquids since friday.(doc said to shrink the liver and some belly fat) I am losing weight already but I am HUNGRY!!!! ( have not cheated once) I wanted to talk about the first few pages on here. I have been on 18 cruises so I know those who are going will have (or had) a great time. I just want to know how you get those weight loss trackers on here and also the August All Star thingie. Thanks Debbie PS I may not be back online till after surgery! Hello has anyone every had their surgery done by Dr. Kowalski from Jeannes Hospital in Philly? I have seen him once and am working on my pre-testing now. I like him alot and I am just wondering what others think of him? Debbie

Has anyone used Dr. Kowalski? He is head of Bari. at Jeannes hosp in Phila. Jeannes is affiliated with Temple Hosp. He seemed real nice and likable to me.

HI Everyone I am not sure what the title of this thread is, but since I have been reading it I feel like jumping in. I am divorced and 52 years old. I was in an unhappy marriage for 23 years. I have since found out he is gay and that is why we had very little sex, which is so important to me that I ate myself to happiness, a whopping 325 ( I am now at 250), we all know how that is, right? Anyway I had 2 sons by miracles,lol, they are now 28 and 21. I am in a fantastic relationship with a wonderful Firefighter who is the man I have been waiting for all my life! He has an older daughter and two special needs kids at home. I am back to the role of mom again, which suits me just fine. I lost 85 pounds about 5 years ago but seems the scale keeps going up. I pleaded with my family doc to approve of this surgery for me because I need this tool. He said you have lost in the past you can do it again, but I said but I keep putting it back on. He finally agreed. So I have gotten a few test done and am waiting for insurance approval ( wish me luck everyone, Please). This is so hard for all of us and we all need to make life style changes, but we are also lucky that this is available to us. I hope to get down to around 140. I am 5'2. Good Luck to everyone! Hello All! AFter being on a rollercoaster all my life, I have finally decided to actually do SOMETHING about it! I am just starting my testing for the lapband and waiting for insurance approval. I was as high as 325 about 10 years ago and down to 200 about 4 years ago. Now I am back at 250 and can't seem to get any of it off. At 52 years old and 5'3" I think this is the tool I need to help me. Good Luck to Everyone and Keep me in your prayers too! Debbie
