I'm having the sleeve surgery on 1/29 with Dr. John Raheb with Kaiser Permanente. Starting the 13 day liver shrinking diet on 1/15 which I'm also dreading! 1 day liquid, the day before surgery. My friend lost 19 lbs on the 13 day pre-op diet so I'm looking forward to similar results!!! ???? We are all on the path to being healthy! Go us! ????????

Finding balance / sustainability with food
chavezmommy replied to Daisee68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm pre op having finished my 4th of 6 Nut classes. I struggle with eating anything I feel like. Then I feel guilty and gross after. I know with the surgery at least I won't be able to eat the same volume. I pray I'll be like many of you, Making healthy food and experimenting with recipes. I have 2 young sons and hubby and we all eat poorly. I hope I can be a good example for them after I establish some bounderies. I'm tracking food but still eating poorly. Lord I need dicipline and motivaton. I feel like I have no will power. I must say though, It's refreshing to hear about everyone's progress and positive attitude. Keep it up!! -
Hey how are you doing after surgery?

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"

I understand your struggle. Have you been tested for sleep apnea? You may have it and not even know it. Another comorbidity is asthma. I was surprised that it can be weight related. Those 2 issues helped me qualify. Another option is the self pay in Mexico. I've read some really good things about it. -

I'm appalled at that scum of a human and how she treated you and your kids. I don't care if you're 110 lbs or 500 lbs - nobody should EVER do what she did. If you were not over weight she would have found or made up something else to ridicule you about. I applaud you for taking the steps to get healthier - for yourself and your family- not for ugly people like that scum bag lady. Next time call the police and press charges, at the very least it's a disturbing the peace crime. Forget about that ugly woman and focus on the loving mother you are. Let's teach our kids that no matter what it's not acceptable to put people down but to instead lift them up. Hugs and prayers to you. -

Seeing the scale at 277 last night and watching my 3 year old play on the tablet because I am too exhausted to get out and play with my kids. Yelling at my 8 year old to not eat junk for Breakfast knowing that I eat it and bought some of it. I feel so out of breath and exhausted. I'm ready for change!! Lord help me get healthy and stay healthy!! Wls targeted for January/February 2016. -
I asked the Bariatric nurses and they said I don't have to stop taking the Cymbalta, even on surgery day. Just call the doc office and ask. Thank God!

This is so inspiring thanks for sharing! I start my nutrition classes 10/19, surgery likely in Jan/Feb timeframe. I have been gaining weight and am the heaviest I've ever been. Feeling down about that...???? but your progress is inspiring me to follow through with the surgery. Thank you!! -
Hang in there! It'll get better. We are rooting for you!????????

My husband had the same thing when he had rny. We could actually see a dent in his skin on the right side below his ribcage. The pain subsided and the debt went away with weight loss. It was an internal stitch.

@@Quany - How are you feeling? What's your progress been like? I've been doing really well. I'm down 30 pounds. I've been in a stall for the last 2 weeks but my Doctor just cleared me to work out at gym. I am able to get on all my fluids and I'm prettying doing trial and error when it comes to food. The only thing I have a problem with it the no drinking while eating rule. I'm glad you're doing well! I bet the not drinking while eating is hard. I haven't been sleeved yet and when I eat without drink I get hiccups.. Hang in there and keep us posted!! -

There are so folks I westminster. I'm in parker. Is there something central?

Its definitely not the easy way out! My hubby had rny and I watched him go through a lot of struggles even after surgery. It's none of her business. You do what's best for you!

IMPORTANT: Are you using a Bariatric vitamin brand that fails to meet label claims?
chavezmommy replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thank you for sharing. Have you assayed any brand whose results match what they claim? -
I'm in Parker Colorado! Starting the journey 3-6 months pre-surgery. Have kaiser insurance and so far they have been great and fast!
