    Louisiana Sleevers?

I don't like the way that place is setup. I didn't like that doctor that's why I went to Alexandria. Did you have private insurance or medicaid?

    Louisiana Sleevers?

Hi I was also sleeved by Doctor Michael Thomas in October if last year. So far I haven't had any complications and I'm almost 100 pounds down. If you don't mind me asking what type if complications did you have that required you to be reserved?I was in extreme pain since the surgery that I was hardly able to make it to my 1st follow up appt. I was so weak I thought I was gonna die. Thankfully, they force me to come in and I had a ride. I could not make it to the Covington office where I was supposed to go. I wouldn't have made the drive. Dr. French was there in the Slidell office, took one look at me and ordered a CATScan and admitted me for another surgery. I had something called 'locked bowels'. I read it only happens in 2%of patients. That was this past Monday. They reluctantly released me on Weds. I have staples in me now and will have them removed on Tuesday.I am hungry and cannot wait to switch to more dense foods. However, I have just found the BEST soups ever but am afraid he will tell me to stop eating them because of the spices. Congrats on reaching your goal. I would love for you to be my mentor of support to get me through this. I am going through a depressing time right now that people warned me about but didn't think it would happen to me. Hi. Just wanted to say that if you're on Facebook there is a support group there. Its called gastric sleeve support group. Its very very informative and inspiring. Good luck

I hate to break the bad news, but I'm thinking in order to pay for it, you'd have to do 6 mos under Dr.Dominguez's patient. But hey, it'll come in no time. We are ALMOST already at Christmas 2015, look how the year has flown by!!

They sent me a package and in the package it says that they do 6mos nutrition and weightloss assessment with medicaid patients bc its a requirement for medicaid to pay. So yes, you will have to have that before surgery. You can do that in your area they said. You dont have to travel to them. Call and ask for Cheryl and she will send you a packet.

How are you doing after a few years with sleeve now? I'd really love to hear more about Dr Dominguez.

The only Dr in Louisiana that accepts medicaid for gastric sleeve is Dr. Dominguez in Covington Louisiana. I have checked into it. I live in Lake Charles and would have to drive to Covington if I want to use him.

Are you looking for someone who accepts your insurance, or just a good surgeon in that area?

Like I said though, you are the only one out of hundreds thats said anything negative. Id rather pay out of pocket to use a Dr that I feel knows what hes doing, they shuttle me from Tx a few miles across the border, than stay in the states and let the State pay for a Dr who I know nothing about and when I asked questions to his nurse, she got defensive & rude like how dare I ask questions. Naaahh, Im just not feeling him or his staff at all and If I do a consult with him and still dont have peace of mind, my @$$ will be in Mexico w-Dr Alvarez.

Im only 6 hours away, I can drive, lol. Im about 5 hours from Covington, so... if its an emergency I just go to the ER. Other wise, I would drive. Not expensive for me at all.
