Hi! I have some questions and am in need of reminders!

Hi there my name is Heather I am 20 years old and I was banded last year on May 14, 2009. Since then, I have went from 292 down to 210! I am 5'11 and went from a size 22 to a size 14 with some room! I just had some questions that have been concerning me. Is it possible for me to gain all my weight back if I reach full compacity for my band and have no room for fills. I guess I am currently at a 7 and a 1/2 in a 10 cc band. Also, my primary care doctor prescribed me phentermine because she said other doctors told her most bandsters will not lose more than 50% of their weight. Is this true? Also, she wants me down to 170 pounds, when I would be more than happy being a size 8 or even a 10. I think for my height that a size 8-10 would look good on me. Last question promise! Can you give me some reminders of the lap band basics such as when to drink water and when to not and things of that nature? Sorry for all the questions I get a fill June 4th but I couldn't wait till then! -
You guys I'm feeling a little discouraged.

Okay! thank you sunshine I obviously need to work on that too! I'll switch the oatmeal and water around a bit so they won't be close together. -

Thank you all for your words of encouragement and advice. I've developed a new plan to see if it will assist in the weight loss. In the morning I drink and 8 oz glass of water followed by a bowl of oatmeal. Then midday I have something healthy for lunch with a protein shake as a snack and then dinner. I try to walk 30 min every morning before eating breakfast and will do crunches and the lost towards the evening. I have not been doing as well as I should nor how i expected. But, hopefully with tidbits of everyone advice I can get these pounds off!! Thank you very much I really appreciate it. I will call my doctor tomorrow and see what she says. And farmgirl I know it feels a little bit discouraging to not lose weight like others but maybe you can take some of this advice too and incorporate it into your life too. -

Thanks for the advice. I do exercise but just on my abs and legs and things like that. So, I will try walking for the next couple of weeks and see how that goes. Also, I will try and drink more water because I just realized that I don't drink as nearly as much as I should. Thank you! I really appreciate it. -

Hi my name is Heather I'm 19 years old and had my lapband procedure on May 4th of this year. It is now August and I have not lost anymore weight since having it placed. I lost about 23 pounds on my pre-opt diet and have kept it off to my first fill, however, after my first fill i gained four pounds!! I then had another fill where she added more to it i'm not sure how much but she said it was a rather large one since i had very little restriction after my first one. My fill was July 23rd and I have yet to feel any restriction still! I don't think there's anything wrong with the band because I can't eat very fast, and have trouble with breads and pastas and such. Can someone please offer some advice and words of encouragement please. Is there something I'm doing wrong. I know the lap-band is a tool, so maybe i'm not utilizing it right. -

On my two Protein shakes and lean cusine pre-op diet i split up my shakes as well as my lean cusine meals that way I won't feel depressed after I eat all of my dinner! Good luck it's hard the first couple of days but after that you get used to it! -
Hello guys I finally got my surgery date of May 4th, and I'm really excited about it. My pre-op diet consists of me replacing to meals with protein shakes and a lean cuisine. It's been a little hard but I've kept to it and haven't cheated. I wish all of you luck!

Tri Care and the Phych Eval...Does it cover it?
YayLapBand replied to SusieC's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Triwest and i was approved for surgery today. All i had done was an evaluation at a place called The Weightloss Surgical Center in Wichita, KS. Not even a week later I was approved and instead of paying the said amount of 150 for the evaluation, it was only 12 dollars out of pocket for me because i had Tricare. I'm sure it's not the same everywhere so if one place doesn't work try other networks. Don't give up!
