I have really thick hair but i have not noticed any hair loss, I am 7 months out, but I do get a really lot of protein in my diet. don't know if that is what has helpled or not.

maybe you can get a heat rash under them and then it would be medical!! also go to plastic surgery.org and you can find lots of info including average costs of each of the surgeries.hope this helps and I like your post it was funny.

Those of you who are banded, do you exercise?
patty103 replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I normally exercise 1 or 2 times a day 30 to 40 minutes each. I have lost 81 pounds in less than 7 months. A friend of mine had the bypass 2 days before I was banded and she has only lost 90 pounds and the bypass is suppose to be so much faster upfront than the band... I am just so thanksful that I feel like exercising. and I also work 12 hour shifts so some days I don't get to the gym but I try to be pretty faithful except this month with the holidays I haven't worked out and I can really tell a difference. My out of town relatives just left today so I will probably be hitting the gym later today, it is a lifestyle now and I can't quit.... My Dr told me my weight loss was so good because of the exercise. Also I am near 50 years old so my metabolism has slowed and the exercise helps it pick back up, the most important is do what you can live with for the rest of your life, so your weight loss will last that long also.Don't know that I can exercise 2 x a day for the rest of my life but I don't ever want to give up on it, that is when I started gaining years ago.. -
you look great, but why did you get rebanded??

why did Rose say you were not a good candidate? I have never heard that before?

I live in Charleston just 40 miles north of Chattanooga. I used Ponce although he was not in my insurance network.. his reputation spoke louder. He has not disappointed me. He is great. I have lost 65 pounds since june, not easy, but the easiest weight i have ever had to lose. I don't know alot about Rose but alot of my friends have used him, and they are doing ok, some better than others or rather faster than others but it is an individual thing. everybody is different it is not fair to compare yourself to others, you have a different body. Let me know how you do..

which insurance did you have. that is what I heard Cigna pulls. I have bcbs of tn and cigna. I waited a year cause at first I only had cigna and was told that they would deny it. well they kept asking for all the medically supervised. Bcbs after losing paper a few times then denying me cause of the psych eval, which was scheduled finally approved me 3 months after my first visit with the surgeon. but I called them or emailed the atleast 2times a week.. never give up..........

cigna wouldn't not approve mine although BCBS of Tenn did (finally). I heard Cigna wanted a 6 month medically supervised diet. And still don't sometimes. go to obesity help.com and check under insurers, you can check all the different insurances in you area. people with United Health don't seem to have a problem..

I ask myself just how much is my life worth? didn't seem like much before the band I was so miserable. I was lucky and finally got insurance approval. but I was looking at ways to finance it if I didn't... and it has made a world of difference in the quality of my life in just 4 months. If something happened I would have to do it again, if at all possible.

i went through the same thing first they lost my papers then I had them faxed to them, they sais they had wrong ID # on them (not true), then they were denied for some of the same reasons as yours, I had all this sent in, I got a set of everything that was sent in, that is how I know the Id # wasn't wrong, and everytime the dr.'s office would send them certified mail return receipt, I would also fax them, I had an email that I would reply to, from someone in customer service and everytime I faxed them I would email her to make sure she got them... I was finally approved. Now they keep kicking out my fills for non covered reason's and I resubmit it and then they pay it. Insurance Company's are a pain but never give up cause that is what they want. if just one out of 10 give up look how much money they think they have saved...

I didn't do the liquid before the surgery only after. I have did fine. I got tired of the liquides after the surgery also but it is well worth the effort. I have lost more in 4 months than ever in my life before. it is work but so much easier than before. It is not the easy way out as some think but the only way out for some like myself. just hang in there it will be over before you know it.. I kinda enjoy the liquids now they are so easy and satisfying..
