When did you buy new clothes?
Hello new me replied to Sara51692's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 8 weeks out and bought a couple of new things today. We have a outlet mall close to my house, so I shopped the clearance rack. I actually has a NSV today and was able to buy clothes that were not from any plus size stores. I was so excited. $80.00 later, I have 2 new pairs of jeans, 4 new shirts and a couple of pair of underwear. I know these will all be too big in a month, but my husband and I have a long weekend get away next weekend. I wanted to look good since we are seeing friends that we haven't seen in years. -

Almost 6 weeks post-surgery and STILL learning!

Wow, you can take your multi-vitamins with food. If I take them with any food or liquid in my stomach, it is instant vomiting for me. Isn't it strange how all of our bodies react differently to things? -
198.4 - yeah - finally made it into the 100's!!

I took 2 1/2 weeks off of work. I needed every day of it. I work as a Nurse Manager at a busy hospital. My supposed desk job has me walking 5,000 steps per day. I am almost 7 weeks out now. The first week back at work was rough, but it has gotten easier each week.

I had mine done as a outpatient. I checked in at 7am and home by 4pm the same day. I had picked up all my prescriptions before hand and had everything I needed at home. I had a follow up visit the next day. I was a little dehydrated, so they gave me 2 liters of fluids in the office. I had no issues after that.

I sleep better now since surgery then I have in a long time. I contribute it to no caffeine, sugars, or processed foods. I use to wake up several times a night. Now, I sleep through the night with no problems.

Don't forget me. I didn't see my name on the spread sheet. Thanks

Feeling tiered from jurist taking a shower!
Hello new me replied to del112's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem that far out. I would take a shower then have to sit on the bed for a few minutes before getting dressed. Your energy will increase. By week 2, I was able to take a shower and get ready without the break. Hang in there! -
I understand about going out to eat. I am 3 1/2 weeks out now. We went out for lunch today. I just got a bowl of soup. I took a bite out of it and it was crazy salty. My husband who is more sensitive to salt than I was pre-surgery said that it tasted fine. I guess the last 6 weeks of eating different has changed my taste. I really don't think it is a bad thing.????

These look yummy! I still a couple of weeks out from trying them, but they are for sure on my must try list.

All liquid diet pre-op...

Once you make it through the first 3 days, it does get easier. Keep your eye on the prize (your surgery date). It will be here before you know it. -
How long off work did you have?
Hello new me replied to Melbournegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 2 1/2 weeks off. I have a stressful office job. I needed every minute of my time off. I have been back a couple of days now. I am one tired puppy by the time I get home. With that being said, including my commute back and forth I am gone for 11 hours a day. -
The first couple of days are rough. It will get better. I am 19 days out and back at work. You can do this!!

The itching is a sign of them healing. My doctor told me to keep mine clean and dry. Also, not to put any cream or ointments on them.

TMI Warning 6days post op - diarrhea
Hello new me replied to swoman2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same issues. It started on day 3 after surgery, with multiple episodes per day. It got better on full liquids to only once a day. I started puréed food a couple of days ago and have not had another episode. My MD told me that I could take Imodium pills. I took them once, but was really scared of having constipation from them. Not sure which would be better or worst? -
