Revision in Monday!
mmyers1962 replied to adnlyn's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I was banded in 2006 and did the Band 2 VSG 7/22/2015. It was interesting to see the band's pouch still present during a flouroscopy study at the dr office... The gift that keeps on giving, but I am down nearly 30 lbs in 5 weeks so no complaints!! -

What do you do when you just cant tolerate another protein shake ?
mmyers1962 replied to amsaf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My favorite currently is a 50/50 mix of the Vanilla Ice Cream Lean Body by Labrada and Premier Protein Chocolate.... -
After successfully negotiating Phase1, and implementing phase 2.... My surgeon said I could start working in pureed meats/veggies in prep for phase 3 this friday.... Woohoo Who knew that a jar of baby food (phase 2) HAM and sweet potatoes would take 30 minutes to eat, and taste like a FEAST!!

Another... Who knew?!?
mmyers1962 replied to mmyers1962's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I appreciate the simplicity.... One jar, 2oz. Protein.... At this point in the game.... KISS. I don't want to subconsciously undermine my goal!! -
Puff puff puff vs. sip sip sip?!?

How do these feel for those of us that help prove that Bigfoot is real (lots of body hair)?

I have good luck with toddler sippy cups for protein shakes. Make a mark @ 2oz.... Measure out and that is a 15 minute portion.... Keep it beside me and sip sip sip.

Days off work after sleeve surgery
mmyers1962 replied to shirleyjohn001's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery is a bit more complicated due to some other issues(multi- hernia repairs), but I base it on when my first post op follow-up is scheduled. At that point your surgeon should be able to release you or delay. In my case he kept me restricted a few more days than I originally anticipated. -
One week post-op.... Lapband revision to VGS... Starting @ 252, weighed this AM... 243.5.... I'll take it!

To help with the boredom of protein shakes I will blend two together.... Chocolate premier protein and Lean Body Vanilla Ice Cream for instance... Try different combinations.... See what you can come up with.... Of course using the sippy cups to dole out measured amounts!! -
Any more word on the Tarrant County group?

Dr. Richard Carter - Arlington TX
mmyers1962 replied to dovie6523's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I have used Dr. Carter since 2006 for my Lapband, all fills, other surgeries (bowel obstruction, incisional hernias) and now for my band revision to sleeve.... Love him!
