The Rules: Do you follow them?
rednecgirl replied to MichiganChic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That amount isn't a tablespoon though plus, organic peanut butter. Doesn't have all that monosaturates fats.Whether it's a tablespoon or a teaspoon, it has calories. And they do add up. So, I guess "grazing" is the rule you do not follow? For me, I am a grazer by nature. I really have to fight to not do it, because I could easily tack on 500 calories a day just tasting little things. That's 3500 calories a week, which would mean I'd gain a pound a week. Easy for me to get right back to 300 pounds! It sure is a hard habit to break. Nah I don't graze really, because I love to cook. Its really hard for me to eat simple stuff. The only food I eat that I don't hand make is peanut butter. I'm not really "afraid" of calories either. I I just got allowed back to soft foods so I can't cook right now because I have to eat easy stuff. I don't care about the caloric content of my food, I care about the quality. If I use fresh organic veggies and lean chicken, I know its good for me and I don't care for the calories. -

I'm only 3 weeks out and there was one major rule I've broken since I got sleeved. I've always loved peanut butter but I didn't eat it daily. But like if we got froyo, I'd get peanut butter froyo, with peanut butter toppings, with peanut butter sauce. NOW... I think it was like 5 days post op I stuck my pinky into the peanut butter jar and had a tiny bit. Its become a daily regimen for me. My Dr. said it has to fit through a strainer but I can't resist. Its become something I do daily. Dip the pinky. And I'm struggling get some initiative to work out. However, I'm going to college in less than a month(yay!!!!!!!) And I calculated I'll be doing over a mile of walking a day just for classes. And I plan on not taking the buses ever day so that can be my workout. I think the reason I'm not working out is because I know I'll have a ton of working out to do when I go to college.. -
I got sleeved July 7th and I get off liquids tomorrow(yay eggs!!) So far my sleeve is total steel, but I've noticed my pallet has done a 180. I used to be able to drink 500 calories of milk a day (easy) and now.. I don't like the taste. Same with all my juices. Now, the only liquid I like is water. What a huge blessing! Especially considering milk probably contributed to a majority of my weight gain.

July 6th 2015 (or close) sleevers...how are we doing?

I was sleeved the 7th. Went home same day. Off pain meds by the 10th and by the 12th I was really annoyed because I felt totally better but couldn't do anything. We joke that the doctor didn't do anything because I can still take huge sips of stuff. I was super mad day 5-day probably 13 because I was craving food. I haven't hit my protein goal. I just don't enjoy the constant drinking. I use my hands too much to have them occupied 24/7. Its literally hotter than hell itself, so I have like no motivation to walk. The craziest thing though... Before surgery I LOVED skim milk. I could single handedly drink a gallon in probably 3 days. Now.... Blech. The only drink I ever want us water. I tried all the juices I used to like, gross. Milk, gross. its odd. I'm still on pure liquids. I get to have soft foods on Tuesday.
