I'm pre op and browsing through the book my nutritionist gave me for my post op liquid phase during week 1 & 2. It says I should consume 8 cups/day of Fluid. 3 cups should be Protein shakes and 5 should be Water, crystal light, etc. How am I suppose to fit in 80g of protein in 3 cups? That's like a scoop of powder per cup of liquid...wouldn't that be disgusting and really...gritty? and thick? I feel like I'm missing something? id take a picture of the page but my phone wont let me upload pix.

I'm contemplating on going out and buying a home gym. My surgery isn't until Jan but id like to start toning now and obviously use it after my surgery as well. I'm only 25 but one of my concerns is sagging skin. I've brought it up to my doctor and he said he doesn't see it being an issue because I have age on my side but I look at it like it'll maximize my weight loss also. My bf and I have been wanting to get a gym membership but with us working opposite shifts and having two kids we dont have time to go, plus he knows I'm embarrassed to work out publicly. Good idea? Stupid idea?

Swimming is great exercise! We go swimming a lot at the dam. Its only about 10 miles from my house so its a nice place to go with the kids the only indoor pools we have here are at the YMCA and at a hotel lol -

@@Elode ???? haha! I've owned a treadmill and an elliptical. I used them occasionally but never stuck to it. I always got discouraged when I didn't see fast results. I ended up selling them when I moved. Atleast now I know if we get the home gym it'll really be benefiting me in multiple ways. -

I'll have to do the protein water and the isopure drinks. Atleast until I can do food with protein. I think that'll work wonders for me at this point lol. -

glitterpockets replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why does it strictly say 3 cups of protein and 5 of water etc? Is there a limit?? I understand they want me to get in as much water as possible to stay hydrated but if I'm doing good on that why cant I stretch the protein out to 4 cups? Does it really matter? -

Yes we do, I've looked into it and their memberships are way to expensive for us. I'd rather spend that amount once, not repetitively to renew. -

I'd definitely get a gym membership but it wouldn't ever be used. I think I have a better chance at daily use if the "gym" was in my home. I work first shift, 40 hrs/week, and he works third shift 60+ hrs/week. My kids are only 5 & 6 so they aren't old enough to be alone and honestly we have no friends. We work and spend time with the kids. There for we have no one to watch the kids either. His fam lives in another state and my "mom" isn't mature enough to watch them, to say it nicely. So when it comes down to it its either home gym or no gym lol -

glitterpockets posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've noticed by going into stores and comparing protein that an Isolate has the same amount of protein but fewer everything else, such as carbs, cals, sugars, etc. Are we able to use an isolate? Is yes, great! If no, how come? -

Am I a lost cause? How can I believe in me when I have failed so many times in the past?
glitterpockets replied to More than this's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm actually pre op ???? I won't be having surgery till Jan 16'. It seems like forever to wait but it gives me time to do research and find out everything id ever wanna know good and bad about this surgery. Due to insurance I have to be on a six month supervised diet to make sure I can actually follow a strict food regimen like I will be post op.
