I'd wait. Every surgery and person is different. I know it's a week out after surgery but no one can tell the future and say you'll be 100% by then. I wouldn't strain yourself or push your limits. I personally think you'd enjoy your time with them so much better if you wait till the new year (and it'll be a great way to start off 2016!) ☺

Yes, my doctor has me taking a pre-op quiz to ensure I know what I'm doing, what this consists of, etc. I can't help but to think some questions can go both ways and I should write in my own answer lol. For instance: This operation will commit me to periodic physician follow up for the rest of my life. True or false OR there's my answer.... "I'm only 25 years old so let's say I live for another 75 years (probably 40 if I DON'T get approved...hint hint) do you REALLY want me coming in for the "rest of my life"?? You're really gonna make me, a 90 yr old lady, come out in the hell time of winter just to make sure I'm still kickin and taking my Vitamins and eating right?? By that time I'll be on 16 pills a day, not including my bariatric Vitamin (which I will be b*itching about cuz I can't swallow or chew them anymore cuz I choke), and yes I'll be eating fine cuz I'll have no teeth and I'll be living off sugar free Jello, mashed potatoes, and broth! So let's just consider this "for the rest of my life" thing for a moment shall we?" Hahaha seriously though. No, I didn't write that......cuz there isn't enough room ???? I filled in the true circle. Hey, if they wanna deal with the 90 year old me, so be it ????????

I'm talking about forever lol and I don't think I'm bulletproof. If I did, I wouldn't be in this situation eh? Annnnnd I took the quiz and filled it out properly and new every single answer for all 40 questions off the top of my head (thanks to this site ❤) ???? so I do realize what this is, what this means, the seriousness, and what this could do to my body (whether at 25....OR 90 ????)

I tried the unjury chocolate splendor with milk and ICK. did not like it AT ALL. lol. I'm picky with chocolate though. I'll be doing the vanilla tomorrow. I don't handle dairy very well at all so this is a great thread. The dairy located in the Protein is enough to make me sick as it is. Has anyone tried unjury with Water?

Has anyone ever had someone bring you down by saying "I think you looked better before"? How did you handle it? This is a concern of mine. I know how I FEEL is the most important but I know people (my mother) who WILL say this to me just to bring me down. Every chance she gets, she takes.

My mother has always been smaller than me but she's not skinny or built. I think a lot of it is gonna be from jealousy due to the fact I'll be smaller than her when it's all said and done. I take dieting and losing weight seriously because it's a horrible struggle for me everyday just to look in a mirror. Her on the other hand says she's dieting and I'll visit her and see a snickers wrapper in front of her or fast food papers in her garbage. She takes me and everything I say as a joke. I'm assuming most of you know what Facebook is. On holidays we all take pictures of the family etc. She'll post the MOST horrible ones of me and keep the good ones I like off of everything. Like she's purposely trying to make me feel fat and horrible. Its so bad I've been diagnosed with ptsd due to "wonderful" childhood. Sorry for the vent guys, I just feel like here is the only place I can go where people understand.

I'm pre-op, but curious as to what I'll do post-op if I get sick? I'm currently down with a cold and all I can do is eat crackers, sip ginger ale, and blow my nose. I'm sitting around thinking after surgery (January) I won't be allowed crackers or soda, so what do we do? I apologize if I sound stupid, especially if I'm looking over something obvious but I'm truly curious (and very tired).

I'm definitely not pregnant lol I just had my EGD Friday and it requires a urine test to check. I can't keep anything down. Not even soup.

It's due to your body going through a traumatic experience. It can happen after a bad car accident, child birth, surgery, etc.

I'm having my EGD tomorrow at 8:30am. Any words of advice?

EGD is done and I'm omw home ☺ went in, got an IV and all hooked up, they put me under and I woke up in the recovery room. I walked out of the hospital and my throat isn't even sore ☺ I'd say it couldn't have gone any better. Everyone was very nice, to me AND my family ☺

My doctor said if I had a desk job it'd be 4 weeks, if it's physical it'd be 6-8 weeks. Its different for every person and doctor

I have to fast after midnight and they'll be putting me under to do it. It takes 1 1/2 hrs to get there. Hopefully in and out.

I don't want to sound stupid but, will I be able to handle the protein drinks? I can't handle dairy AT ALL. not even almond milk or soy milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, I actually have the complete reverse effect and seconds after I consume any amount it makes my stomach hurt so bad I could cry. Then I can't eat or go to the bathroom for days. I noticed that protein drinks have a milk protein in them.

When I first started this journey I was extremely excited. Its a fresh start and I was ready to jump start the process and keep the ball moving. Now that I'm a few months in I feel like its taking forever. Like its not gonna happen and when the time does come ill be denied. I feel like giving up but I know I truly need this. I've been in a funk lately and I cant seem to get out of the rut ????

I'm scheduled to have my EGD Thursday and I'm currently in my family doctors waiting to be seen for a severe inner ear infection. Will I still be able to have my EGD done? (of course I'll ask, just curious to find out sooner as it crossed my mind while I sit here)

@@jane13 just for a call around 4 and doc doesn't wanna mess with it. So yep EGD CANCELLED too. Grrrrrrr

The doc said I should still be ok to have my egd. I'm calling my vsg doc just in case cuz my egd is almost 2 hrs away. I don't wanna travel just to turn around.

I had mine set up for this past Friday and they called and said I need to reschedule due to the psych doctor having an emergency, I understood...stuff happens...but now I have to wait months to get in again. Is there anyone else I can have do it? Like my family doctor or something?

I'm 26 and will be having surgery in January

My doc told me today at my appt u should be drinking half of your body weight in oz. for example: I weigh 226, so I should be drinking 113 oz of Water a day
